Garrett: “All’s I know is, had Dean or Pelosi trotted out this same line of bullshit as an excuse to pull out of rehab, the judge would’ve slapped them with a parole violation—forcing them to unload smack from their private stashes and hock their Vespas just so they could afford to pay their shyster lawyers’ attorney fees.
“Trust me on this.”*

Wait…
SW: I didn’t say anything
Oh my! Now pass me the smelling salts, I do believe I have the vapors!
Leif is the new John Lennon.
So uh…….when are those two fucks going to rehab anyway?
Now THAT’S fucked up– much more so than saying you’re more popular than Jesus.
Gad/
peter.
You know, many societies consider the insane to have special protection from God. So, I’m just saying, maybe we ought to watch what we say about Dean and Pelosi.
Just saying.
Hoisted on their own petards. Excellent.
[/Monty Burns]
GOPers ought to be more prudent.
Dems can give out as well as they can take.
Watch for ads showing the Defense Secy. telling everyone that casualties (or lack thereof) should be no measure of success in Iraq.
Which is the same as saying KIAs and wounded don’t matter.
And of course they don’t matter, not to the Neocons anyway.
The Neocons view troops as essentially cannon fodder in their great crusade to establish an American Raj in the Middle East. So naturally KIAs and wounded matter little, if at all. The ends justifiy the KIAs you might say.
The GOP is going to get smacked down hard on this one.
Dean rules!
Uh, Carl? 1969 called. It wants it’s face paint back.
Promises, promises.
Darth Rove apparently thinks so.
Jeff
That is an entirely way cool, supercalafragsomethingorother BITCH SLAP.
Ya reckon it hurt?
TW “although”…. yes indeedy!
And there you have it, ladies and gentlemen. The intellectually superior liberal mind in all its moronic glory. Could you put that in the form of a syllogism for me, Carl?
“Dean rules!”
Yes.
Yes he does.
He’s the gift that just keeps on giving.
And don’t think we don’t appreciate it, really we do.
Oh…I nearly forgot. Uh…Down with the Man!!
And umm….Far Out, and all that.
Quite a leap there, Carlo. So, are you saying higher casualties equal success or lower signifies it? Because military history doesn’t do a good job of predicting success through pure math. I know this will make your head hurt, but look it up. One more thing–check with the troops to see what they think.
However, saying “we can’t win” IS the same as saying “we can’t win.”
” One more thing–check with the troops to see what they think. “
Shhh, Wishbone.
Remember, we troops are only useful to the Carls of the world if were dead or malcontented.
Carl is one of those people who tell you one life is too many, and you can’t put a price on a human life. Yet they let their loved ones ride around in cars without rollcages, 5-point safety harnesses, helmets or nomex suits, or any kind of real safety equipment, even though auto accidents kill far more than the Iraqi conflict. I have asked a few of these people why, and I always get a variation of it costs too much, it would be too uncomfortable or it just isn’t practicle, so I guess you can put a price on a human life.
If Bob Shrum is in anyway involved in the ‘06 campaign, look for Republicans to increase their margin in the House.
Old people like Don Rumsfeld.
Old people vote.
So, Thanks in Advance for bringing Don Rumsfeld front and center, Democrats!!
=======================================
That said, a campaign featuring Michael Brown and Michael Chertoff would be effective and drive Jeff into a fit of apoplexy.
Dem Commercial:
:Scary Voice Guy –
You *know* that the MSM footage would be a huge part of the Dem campaign footage – if Rove were running it.
”As the nation’s most trusted reporters informed the country of its largest natural disaster, Michael Chertoff sat in the cocoon of Washington, oblivious to the suffering of the the poor in New Orleans.
Why else would Bush Appointee Michael Chertoff claim that federal disaster response to Hurricane Katrinaa was good.
Who are you going to believe, a Bush Appointee or your own eyes?
Hey B Moe,
Are all those safety features available on the KIA?
Cause from the looks of Carly’s comment, he favors the KIA for all his driving needs.
Small wonder with its classic lines and sensible fuel-efficiency. Yes, the KIA is the car for Carl.
Well Alpuc, let us speak of KIAs.
There were 4 more KIAs in Iraq today. And we’re no closer to “victory” than we were yesterday.
But, like I say, soldiers are merely cannon fodder being used to realize a Neocon pipedream.
There is hope, however; light at the end of the tunnel as they used about Vietnam back when I was a Army SP4 back in the mid1960s.
Seems the WH is talking about withdrawing 30,000 troops after the upcoming election. That’s about 20% of current deployment.
Interesting how the WH puts out that crap slamming Murtha and Pelosi about the dangers of withdrawal, then quietly, (more or less) goes about planning for precisely what Murtha is suggesting: phased withdrawal.
When we leave Iraq the country will dissolve into chaos. That’s unfortunate, but the only alternative is a US occupation lasting many more years.
Right. We honor Casey Sheehan for what he did. You guys dishonor Casey Sheehan just to try to score political points against Bush.
Who’s cannon fodder for whom?
Doubt that the KIA has these safety features al, and I honestly kinda figured Carl probably drove one of these.
We’re not going to let you rewrite withdrawal calls, Carl. From Rep. Murtha’s own website the phrase is “immediate redeployment.”
And, since one of the main complaints against the President’s Iraq policy is the lack of a plan–please note that the post-election troop withdrawals were already part of a plan.
Intellectual honesty–an alien concept to the left.
Yes Carl, we are one day closer to elections, that is another day closer to victory.
The sixties have been over for a long time Carl, put down the bong and back slowly away.
Please refresh my memory as to the different phases Murtha suggested, because I just remember him calling for us to haul ass as quickly as possible.
That’s unfortunate? Iraq dissolving into chaos would be UNFORTUNATE? Jesus, go ahead and pick the bong back up, it is way too late for you it seems.
Tell you what Carl,
You are a soldier. You go ahead and refer to volunteers who gave their life for something they believe as “cannon fodder”, and other inanimate objects on a purely statistical basis. You’ve earned the right.
I’ll agree to keep pointing out the tremendous value that KIA USA is bringing to the automobile industry.
As for your analysis of Casey’s troop withdrawal based on the success of the election, your circular argument is at the same time both perplexing and bladder-straining.
Casey talked about withdrawal in July based on conditions:
“If the political process continues to go positively and if the development of the security forces continues to go as it is going, I do believe we will still be able to take some fairly substantial reductions after these elections in the spring and summer next year.”
Pelosi, Reid, Kennedy and Kerry send Krunk Murtha out in November to act like it’s his idea.
Subtle. Clever. Never saw it coming.
And yet you point out more of your fallen Bretheren as an indication of imminent failure. What strikes me as odd is that violence seems to have escalated in the run-up to this election and if those idiot terrorist would only realize that if the elections go smoothly, America will withdraw and they will be free to terrorize with impunity. Yet those blockheads fear a successful election. What in the fuckin’ queso fresco is wrong with those guys?
You also hint that withdrawal as Murtha’s idea is a good idea, yet withdrawal based on a successful election is a bad idea leaving the country in chaos. Murtha says we have to get out of the way. You say chaos, yet telling Murtha that immediate withdrawal is slamming him.
I’m going to believe that those 4 latest brave American volunteers believed in a successful election.
The Iraqis that vote will confirm their belief.
You view America however you want. Like I said, you’ve earned the right and you earned it for me. Thanks Dude.
……… You say chaos, yet telling Murtha that immediate withdrawal is bad is slamming him.
Sorry. As I was trying to wrap my Midwestern brain around The Carl Paradox, I left some words out.
I could make up for it by doing a few more circles if you like…….?
?
?
Anyone?
Carl, just why is it that you insist on forming and expressing opinions on Iraq while deliberately keeping yourself ignorant of events in Iraq?
“The Neocons view troops as essentially cannon fodder in their great crusade to establish an American Raj in the Middle East.”
Funny that it is the paleoliberals who are chanting for the restarting of the draft and the end of the volunteer army.
Since I am a decorated Combat Infantryman whose service predated Murtha’s by almost 5 years and whose time in combat likely exceeds that of Murtha and Kerry combined, I excoriate the republicans for their failure to pound those cowards into the sand of the ignominy they have earned.
I second the excoriation!!
Decorated combat veteran, Viet Nam.
The troops being taken out after the elections are additional troops added for security as the elections approached. It was <i>always<i>< planned for them to be withdrawn. It is not in response to the bleatings of our democrat surrender monkeys.
By the way, the old Peace Sign has been officially redesignated as the Surrender Sign.
Carl has taught me that the phrase “cannon fodder” can make just about any argument sound mildly amusing.
fodder, fodder, fodder
heh.
