   These people are to race what feminists are to sex (gender, whatever). Feminists say they want equality, but what they really want is the death of the masculine, and will work to that end until the end of time no matter what concessions are given.

   I remind everyone that whites in the US make up approximately 72.4% of the population, and blacks make up roughly 12.6%*. This would mean that black commit murders at more than six times the rate of whites, since they make up a plurality of offenders (a majority of offenders whose race is known) despite being only 1/6 the population.

   Drumwaster, to be fair, the response to those stats from the barbarians is there is a difference between being shot by a civilian as a criminal action and being shot by a cop in an official action (or something like that), and it is not without merit.

   I would like to see the stats on deaths as a ratio of police contact, not on overall homicides. Though I’m not sure that would tell us anything being as blacks as a group are much more likely to be involved in violent crime than whites (as evidenced by prison populations).

    Never mind that more than 2 1/2 times as many whites are shot by cops than blacks*. Never mind that 99.9+% of all arrests are made without any undue violence**. Never mind that black are arrested for more murders than whites, despite being only about 1/6 the population.***

    As a ratio of population, then blacks were killed by police roughly twice the rate of whites if my math is right (no guarantee!).

    Like I said though, the significance of that is questionable because of the much greater ratio of blacks being involved in violent crime.

    Considering that 99.9+% of all arrests didn’t involve anyone shooting at anyone else, the fact that blacks were shot at a rate more than twice as often as whites might also imply that those blacks tended to resist arrest, and more violently than simply running/driving away, from the officer attempting to carry out the arrest.

    In 2011, 77 alleged offenders were identified in connection with the 72 law enforcement officers feloniously killed. Of those offenders, the following characteristics are known:

    …
    43 of the alleged offenders were white, 29 were black, 2 were American Indian/Alaskan Native, and 1 was Asian/Pacific Islander. The race was not reported for 2 offenders.

    That seems to indicate that blacks were four times more likely to kill a police officer with whom they came into contact.

    23 officers were killed during arrest situations.
    15 officers died in ambush situations.
    11 officers were slain during traffic pursuits or stops.
    9 officers were killed during tactical situations (barricaded offender, hostage taking, high-risk entry, etc.).
    7 officers were murdered answering disturbance calls.
    5 officers were slain while investigating suspicious persons or circumstances.
    1 officer was killed while conducting investigative activity (surveillance, search, interview, etc.).
    1 officer was killed while transporting or maintaining custody of a prisoner.
