Parody is dead.
Southside With You, a drama in the vein of Before Sunrise, chronicles the summer 1989 afternoon when the future President of the United States of America wooed his future First Lady on an epic first date across Chicago’s South Side. Get On Up’s Tika Sumpter will play Michelle Obama (née Robinson), while the search is on to cast the young Barack.
As Presidential lore has it, the date took some convincing. Obama, then an idealistic first-year Harvard Law student, took a summer job as an associate at Chicago law firm Sidley Austin where he fell for lawyer Michelle Robinson, his younger boss. Southside With You spans the day she agreed to go out with him when the two visited the Art Institute, took a long walk, and caught a showing of Spike Lee’s new film, Do The Right Thing. They were married in 1992. […]
“Stephanie and I are excited to produce this smart and timeless film that sheds light on one of the great love stories of our time,” said Bing. “Richard really captures the essence of that romantic connection between Barack and Michelle that is so evident in the way that they look at each other. We are looking forward to finding the perfect Barack.”
When you find him, maybe you could swap him for what’s in White House.
Oh geez ..
We are looking forward to finding the perfect Barack
I would settle for a reasonably competent Barack.

>One of the most innovative urban planners was the Reverend Jim Jones. Appointed to San Francisco’s Housing Authority, the Reverend Jones’ People’s Temple was located in the center of the Fillmore ghetto that ran for about a mile along Fillmore Street and was one of the few blighted neighborhoods left in San Francisco by the late 1970?s. There were a large number of highly prized old Victorian homes in the ghetto but as long as the streets in front of them were full of idle black men no one was willing to restore them. The Reverend seeing the squalor around his church took matters into his own hands and decamped to a jungle plantation in Guyana with about 1000 of the local ghetto residents, a large number of whom were older black females who owned a lot of the property in the ghetto. With them went their welfare, Social Security and pension checks that formed the economic backbone of the ghetto. After the unfortunate cyanide poisonings that took place at Jones’ plantation the idle black men who had spent their days lounging on the steps and porches were suddenly gone and real estate speculators moved in quickly to snap up the Victorian homes their deceased mothers and grandmothers owned. In virtually no time the whole area was transformed. Gone were the seedy bars and liquor stores along Fillmore St. to be replaced by yuppie restaurants, upscale stores and the offices of lawyers and doctors. So here is to Jim Jones a man who by himself and with not one penny of taxpayer money turned slums into million dollar homes.<
