#Grubering — now with SIX videos revealed, Lapdog media is being forced to notice [Darleen Click]

CNN’s Jake Tapper

Washington (CNN) — In a 2011 conversation about the Affordable Care Act, MIT economist Jonathan Gruber, one of the architects of the law more commonly known as Obamacare, talked about how the bill would get rid of all tax credits for employer-based health insurance through “mislabeling” what the tax is and who it would hit.

In recent days, the past comments of Gruber — who in a 2010 speech noted that he “helped write the federal bill” and “was a paid consultant to the Obama administration to help develop the technical details as well” — have been given renewed attention.

In previously posted but only recently noticed speeches, Gruber discusses how those pushing the bill took part in an “exploitation of the lack of economic understanding of the American voter,” taking advantage of voters’ “stupidity” to create a law that would ultimately be good for them.

The issue at hand in this sixth video is known as the “Cadillac tax,” which was represented as a tax on employers’ expensive health insurance plans. While employers do not currently have to pay taxes on health insurance plans they provide employees, starting in 2018, companies that provide health insurance that costs more than $10,200 for an individual or $27,500 for a family will have to pay a 40 percent tax.

“Economists have called for 40 years to get rid of the regressive, inefficient and expensive tax subsidy provided for employer provider health insurance,” Gruber said at the Pioneer Institute for public policy research in Boston. The subsidy is “terrible policy,” Gruber said.

“It turns out politically it’s really hard to get rid of,” Gruber said. “And the only way we could get rid of it was first by mislabeling it, calling it a tax on insurance plans rather than a tax on people when we all know it’s a tax on people who hold those insurance plans.”

    Whoa.

    The RNC did that?

Not THE RNC. Not the one the thought that McCain was “electable.”

Must be the “Republic, not Communism” committee.

I missed a couple… would any of our resident linkmeisters (Geoff? nr?) happen to have links to all 6 of the vids (so far)?

Gruber, the new Fisk. Being a “good” liar is how you become famous on the left.

Some are here, here, here, here, here.

In a sane world that one recording of Pelosi would destroy her political prospects permanently.

That it does not is all the proof one needs that the Democrat party is catch basin for all damaged personalities.

For we must have a catch basin for such types, and Democrat party is such. It is the only explanation remaining.

…the Mass Stupidity Media are in the tank for Stupidcrats like her. They don’t mind the entire world going up in smoke, if they can die looking smarter than the idiot-kings they made.

    Thanks geoff!

…though oddly, I fell asleep while reading that. :)

  8. The Mass Stupidity Media thinks that somehow they’ll survive unscathed the hard rain that’s going to fall [led by Life’s old protector: Nemesis].

They should really read The Russian Revolution by Richard Pipes or The Gulag Archipelago to see what happens to their type when the Masterminds gain enough Power And Control.

I do admit to a certain hope that, from my future internal exile location, I’ll be able to enjoy their show trial confessions while sipping some bourbon and crackers.

Obamacare architect Jonathan Gruber said “seniors do a terrible job choosing” their own public health care plans, according to presentation slides Gruber wrote that were obtained by The Daily Caller.
    […]
Gruber’s slide then claimed that 12 percent of seniors allegedly picked the lowest-cost Medicare Part D plan and could on average save up to 30 percent more, without noting that some seniors pick prescription drug plans that work for them that are not necessarily the cheapest possible plan.

This is strange since to pick a plan Medicare has an online site where you enter your information including what drugs you take and they then show you what plans there are and the costs, both in premiums, deductibles, and co-pays. Unlike Obamacare sites theirs works.

You do have to make some decisions that are not laid out there since some of the costs might be deductible from taxes on the State or local level and there is also that some drugs in a plan will require pre-authorization which might be hard to get and so another plan which doesn’t will then be better since if you don’t get the authorization then the cost is fully yours not the insurance company’s.

“We all knew” he was lying about Obamacare.

    I feel so much better.

I can’t seem to remember links tonight. Here is the link for above.
