John Kerry: “We will stand with the government of Iraq …” [Darleen Click]

“… we are just not going to do our standing, you know, next to you.”

In his first remarks since Islamic militants with Al Qaeda ties overran the Iraqi cities of Fallujah and Ramadi, U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry promised support for Iraq’s government, but emphatically rejected any possibility that the U.S. would send troops back into the country, saying of the Baghdad government “this is their fight.”

Speaking as he left Jerusalem for Jordan and Saudi Arabia on Sunday to discuss his effort to broker peace between Israel and the Palestinians, Kerry said, “We will stand with the government of Iraq and with others who will push back against their efforts to destabilize … We are going to do everything that is possible. I will not go into the details.”

Kerry then added, “We are not contemplating putting boots on the ground.”

Heck of a job, Barry!

We should have kept an airbase there, but we didn’t. At this point I’m just as happy we aren’t putting “boots on the ground”. Let the muzzies slaughter each other, I couldn’t care less.

  2. Ernst Schreiber says:

This is all Bush’s fault. If he’d lost the war back in ’06, like the Democrats wanted, and tried to make him do, they wouldn’t have to lose the peace now.

  3. Libby says:

Osama Bin Laden is sitting in hell wondering why, oh why! couldn’t he have lived through the Obama administration. Nothin’ but weak horses creating all kinds of opportunity for his kind of mischief.

  4. Ernst Schreiber says:

The problem is they’re never content to limit the slaughter to each other.

John Kerry is just a continuation of enemy action standing in plain sight but unrecognized as such.

  8. Libby says:

It would be one thing if Obama & Kerry were to just pull back from US involvement in the Middle East, but it’s so much worse that they’re actually putting military resources in the hands of our enemies. All while doing whatever they can to stab Israel in the back.

I too have the hat. A lady stopped me at Cherry Creek mall to ask me where I bought it.

    “Perfect, isn’t ist?”

“Yes, but where, I’m looking all over and not seeing anything here.”

“You’re going to love this,” I could tell because she was so beautiful and so fashionable, ” Army/Navy surplus in Englewood on Broadway down there by Hampton or Floyd. They have a pile of them in a cardboard box, mixed sizes and colors. Trés classé mai oui? “

    This.

happyfeet, I view it more as schizophrenic. Horribly, terribly psychologically damaged, utterly duplicitous and untrustworthy because of it, incapable of holding steady on anything so serious as national security. Therefore unworthy partners.

Well, as long as they are, I’m content to let them. We don’t have anyone in Iraq. Besides, Obama is busy sending troops to freaking Nigeria in his fearless quest to fight for American interests.

Do you have any Idea how many little old ladies have been duped by Nigerian emails?

Me neither, but there were some, and by God the US military will straighten that mess out, oh boy!

Iraqis should begin evacuating immediately. Yesterday if possible.

I’ve long been a subscriber to Fouad Ajami’s assessment that those are the lands of “I against my brother; my brother and I against our cousin; and my cousin, my brother, and I against the stranger”. And the good old USofA will always be a stranger, to be milked or to be slaughtered.

Let ’em stew in their Islamo-Arabic culture.

    This.

And he has always been so for well over 40 years. And not alone in this either.

    – At some point people are going to realize sKerry is still sitting in Cambodia, admiring his magic hat and dreaming of a Nixon presidency.

    – File under the heading of “Industrial strength stupid”.

  20. BigBangHunter says:

    – Or to put it another way, “Its christmas, so it must be sKerry in Cambodia, killing Nixon with his swiftboat, carried by hand because theres no water ways within 140 miles.”
