Vets remove barrycades from memorial, carry them to the #SpiteHouse [Darleen Click] UPDATED

OUTLAWS!

On Sunday, protesting the barricades placed at memorials around Washington D.C. by the vindictive Obama administration, veterans removed the barricades and proceeded to take them to the White House. Multiple people tweeted photos of the barricades being removed and taken for presidential inspection:

The last picture is iconic. His demeanor is not haughty nor enraged. He appears quietly determined to complete a mission he believes in.

I agree with the yellow one. Of course, I interpreted “shows them what’s going on” to mean “take them to the woodshed and pistol whip them mercilessly.”

This video of the procession of barricades to the White House (h/t Legal Insurrection) is taken from a high floor at the J.W. Marriott at 15th & Pennsylvania N.W., looking S.W toward the intersection of E & 15th Sts. N.W. (the zoom-in target), a block south of the Treasury Dept.

The White House is just off-screen right, and the Washington Monument off-screen left, so the procession has already marched past the southern fence of the White House grounds on E St. The white building in the distance is the Organization of American States.

That last picture is going to be seen everywhere in the right-leaning blog sphere.

    – Overheard in the protest – “Dayum….looks like Kenya…”

    – Police in riot gear? – Ok, its official….Bumblefuck is starting to get scared, and he should be!

Wish I could have been with these patriots.

    ” We few, we happy few, we band of brothers;
For he to-day that sheds his blood with me
Shall be my brother; be he ne’er so vile,
    This day shall gentle his condition;
    And gentlemen in England now-a-bed
Shall think themselves accurs’d they were not here,
And hold their manhoods cheap whiles any speaks
That fought with us upon Saint Crispin’s day. “

Lead story on CBS evening news! Showed the Barrycades crashing against the White House fence.

  12. SBP says:

Just a short clip, then a segue to John McCain.

  13. […] They came through for us today against Obama’s monument shutdown hissy fit.  They hauled Barrycades back to the White House and produced photos like these.  Expect the MSM to distort it even more if they continue to cover it at all, and McCain to wonder what they’re doing because he couldn’t recognize real leadership if it threw a press conference for him. More public servants “just following orders” I see.

Meanwhile, we get this rather banal headline from NBC: Palin, Cruz critical of Obama at WWII memorial

  16. Pablo says:

This is the most awesome thing I’ve seen in ages. Meanwhile, CNN needs a beating.

I’d particularly like to know which of the credited cretins wrote this:

While they gathered peacefully for the most part, some were more vocal and shouted at police on horseback. “You work for us,” some chanted.

  17. […] had these three links. Over at Protein Wisdom, this. At PJM’s Tatler, Bryan Preston posted […]

  18. cranky-d says:

How dare they point out the fact that the police and politicians work for us. Ingrates.

Worship the power of the State!

  21. cranky-d says:

Althouse wants to be a commie. She should just embrace the state and be done with it.

  22. palaeomerus says:

Althouse doesn’t see herself as the “sad old woman who lost all but one of her sons to the war who is waiting in line for shoes that won’t fit” kind of commie though.

  23. John Bradley says:

Let me guess at the Althousian logic (without caring enough to actually look):

When evil people do unlawful things (the NPS barricading national monuments), well, what do you expect… they’re evil, after all.

When good people do ‘unlawful’ things to undo the evil, that’s a bigger problem, that way lies anarchy, good people should be held to a higher standard, yadda yadda yadda…

    Was I close?

  24. StrangernFiction says:

I stand neither with good or evil. I remain neutral.

    Good luck with that.

  25. McGehee says:

Althouse would be very happy never having to take a side on anything that doesn’t affect her personally, but apparently she had Midwestern parents who indoctrinated her with those Midwestern values about something called “right” and something called “wrong,” which is the only reason she took sides on things like 9/11, and the IRS scandal, and things like that.

  26. sdferr says:

How come Rand Paul didn’t ask Candy Crowley if she is prepared to leave the Democrat-Progressive party, and can she see herself in some other party in the near future? #MissedOpportunities

  27. Pablo says:

Of course Althouse isn’t happy with people protesting the guy she voted for.

  28. sdferr says:

Jeff retweeted a question from Weasel Zipper: “Why is The Daily Caller [‘s Jamie Weinstein] needlessly piling on Ted Cruz?”

That’s not a hard one, is it?

Weinstein knows, just as well as the old-bulls in the House and Senate know — Republican or Democrat matters not — that Cruz appeals precisely to the sentiments of the American people, who don’t want ObamaCare shoved down their throats, never once have wanted ObamaCare; never asked for it; opposed it from the mere mention, want it even less today as it rips a swath of destruction across their lives, and can’t for the life of them understand why there should be any necessity that they should thus suffer, when political change alone is sufficient to eliminate the imposition; that should the American people rise up in unity against the old-bulls’ possession, the power of government, those self-same old-bulls are toast, and along with them, the puny subsidiary powers of the world-o-Washington hangers-on.

Popular sovereignty? Why, that’s tantamount to chaos!

  29. McGehee says:

Everybody else in the world is suffering under socialized medicine. It’s unfair that we’re not.

And don’t you dare retort that the right thing to do is to unshackle the rest of the world. That is such an American way of thinking and it’s unfair that you would have such a sensible idea when nobody else ever does.

  30. sdferr says:

We ought not let the day escape with a failure to note that the barricades once removed yesterday were replaced around and about the Memorials early this morning — — for public order demands that there be barricades surrounding the Memorials. Indeed, that beyond mere order, nothing can quite express the love of the ClownDisaster Administration of old folk who would visit these Memorials than the very presence of barricades strung round them.

It’s a lot like a promise of Social Security checks, in that regard.

  31. leigh says:

I’ll bet the demonstration would have gotten a lot more coverage if there had only been some nudity and papier mache giant puppets.

    A lot less dignity, too.

  32. geoffb says:

That is such an American way of thinking and it’s unfair that you would have such a sensible idea when nobody else ever does.

‘Tis why we have always been the “exception” in the world’s governments and polities. An “exception’ that puts the lie to what others think is the rule of “Rule.”

  33. geoffb says:

    “Breasts not Barrycades!!!”

  34. McGehee says:

And that’s why “American Exceptionalism” is now the great evil that must be dispatched.
