Everyone Knows it’s CINDY!

Today’s CINDY! diary at Daily Kos offers further, heartwrenching evidence that Ms Sheehan is simply a grieving Mom who just wants to chat with the President:

While George golfed yesterday, the worst hurricane ever struck New Orleans; oil went up to over 68.00/barrel; and an American soldier was killed in the charade and cataclysmic occupation of Iraq. The soldier’s family doesn’t even know what’s going to hit them yet. The death is “Pending Notification.” I continually ask myself: “How do George Bush and other death-mongers live with themselves?” While George vacations and bikes and golfs his way to the lowest poll numbers since Richard Nixon, other “patriots” are wrapping themselves in the Stars and Stripes and going along with the farce that the mission from hell: Killing more people in Iraq, because so many have already been killed” is somehow a good thing ordained by God. I can live with myself, but trust me, sleep does not come easily to me these days.

WHY WON’T THE GOLFING, HURRICANE-AVERSE, DEATHMONGERING BASTARDLIAR WHO CALLOUSLY MURDERED YET ANOTHER BOY (ALONG WITH, LIKE, A ZILLION INNOCENT IRAQIS YESTERDAY) JUST SPEAK TO CINDY?  AND WHY DO THE SLACK-JAWED, FLAG-WRAPPED YOKELS (WHO, THANKS TO THEIR INVETERATE REDNECK STUPIDITY, HAVE BEEN DUPED INTO SUPPORTING THIS TWISTED, FRAUDULENTLY ELECTED COWBOY CHIMP) INSIST ON ATTACKING MOTHER SHEEHAN RATHER THAN ADDRESSING HER POINTS?

(h/t Cole, who should try to get his comment section zoned in New Orleans so that he can have it declared a disaster area, condemn the thing, and start over from scratch)

    What did George shoot?

  2. Inspector Callahan says:

Amen to that.  It’s as though the inmates have taken over the asylum.

tw:  learned, as in they haven’t, have they?

    TV (Harry)

  3. Defense Guy says:

I’ve tried fighting the good fight over at Cole’s but it is pointless.  I no longer have the stomach to fight against those who cannot even bring themselves to side with our country or our soldiers.  St. Cindy can go to hell, her every word is a stab in the face to what her son believed in.  I have no more compassion for her, and am as mad at the MSM for covering for her ‘crazy’ comments as I have ever been.

Tough times to love your country it seems.  If it keeps up, I doubt it will continue to be a problem.  Then again, maybe I’m being overly fatalistic.

  4. Jeff Goldstein says:

One of Cole’s commenters gleefully points to this WaPo poll showing that more than half the country thinks Bush should have met with CINDY!

As I said over there, though, my guess is that the majority of those who even know who Sheehan is think she’s simply a grieving Mom, possibly against the war, who just wants to meet with the President.

It’s almost certain that the more the learn about her, the less sympathetic they’ll be to her cause.

Keep speaking, Cindy!  With the right side of the blogosphere howling and writing ombudsmen, the MSM can only keep your nuttiness hidden for so long…

  5. kyle says:

I’ve tried to be as non-judgemental as possible in re: Ms. Sheehan, in light of the fact that I will probably spiral into a horrifying and inescapable depression if my brother should happen to die whilst serving.  I can understand the initial lack of rational thought.  I can.

That being said, fuck CINDY!.  And her horrible writing.  And lack of coherent thinking.  And self-important, spotlight-hogging media whore-ishness.  Just, fuck her.  Jeeeeezz I’m tired of these people.

Can we get back to being America.  Please?

  6. Fred says:

Getting excited, one way or the other, about polls is a losing game. For conservatives, especially.

The only one that counts, as I try to point out over at Cole’s place, is the one we took last November.  As I recall, we debated these issues rather extensively and Mr. Bush was re-elected.  With a historic number of popular votes.  Adding seats to his party’s majority in the legislature.

So, you know, party on and all, democrats, but Gallup and Zogby don’t get to decide who controls policy.

    Thank God.

  7. Liberal poster says:

    Dear fascists on this site:

    I am a liberal.

I would rather live as a slave on my knees…

…then die on my feet as a warmonger.

Cindy is better than Jesus. You are worse than Hitler.

    Fuck off.

    A liberal

  8. Jeff Goldstein says:

Sure, but it’s a dry fascism.

The kind that allows those whose irony meters are damaged to post screeds freely on a site while simultaneously claiming the site and its readers are fascist.

Incidentally, you don’t get to live or your knees.  That’s just the position the Islamists put you in before they saw your head off with a hunting knife.

  9. B Moe says:

“I would rather live as a slave on my knees…”

    While you’re down there…..

  10. alppuccino says:

I would rather live as a slave on my knees…

If Liberal poster was offering head to all in this thread, I’d like to see a picture first.

  11. alppuccino says:

You beat me B Moe.  Fair and square.  It’s your bit now.

  12. Defense Guy says:

…then die on my feet as a warmonger

Well, at least an American warmonger.  Others that are, um, monging war are apparently fine.  So hard to tell the good guys from the bad these days and all.

TW: mind, as in mine seems to be lost.

  13. Kit Jarrell says:

Okay.  That does it.  After reading about 6 posts with comments here, you’ve won me over.  I love this blog.

By the way – you guys saw that her crawford update blog got hijacked, right?  Only about 3 blogs posted about it.

    //begin shameless plug

    //end shameless plug

Keep up the awesome comments.  (The posts are good too! wink)

  14. Fred says:

Somebody is trying to make “liberals” look bad by leaving remarks under the name “Liberal poster”.

Mr. Rove?  Is that you?  Karl?

  15. dorkafork says:

“I would rather live as a slave on my knees…

…then die on my feet as a warmonger.”

No “Give Me Liberty, Or Give Me Death!” for you, huh?

  16. Kit Jarrell says:

Tomorrow I’ll learn how to post comments on blogs other than my own. wink Sorry, guys.

  17. AWG says:

    I am a liberal.

I would rather live as a slave on my knees…

    Monica, is that you?

  18. 3rd_Bird says:

    I am a liberal.

I would rather live as a slave on my knees…

So that’s how Al Franken gets work.

  19. Jay Reding says:

    I am a liberal.

I would rather live as a slave on my knees…

Believe me, that can be arranged.

Personally, I’d rather live free, but if it’s slavery you want I hear Pyongyang, Rangoon, or Havana are all lovely this time of year.

  20. rls says:

Monica’s no longer a Liberal.  She said that they left a bad taste in her mouth.

  21. kyle says:

Well, on the plus side, we were saluted as “Dear” fascists, so we must not be all that bad, right?

I’m not so sure about the “worse than Hitler” part though…I mean, I’m already 6,000,000 Jews behind, not to mention the gays, Roma et al…

Let’s see.  I’m nearly 30 now, so if I can take out 20,000 Jews a year, I’ll have caught ol’ Adolf in 300 years.  Right.  And assuming I live as long as Methuselah, that STILL gives me 600+ years to take care of the rest.

By gum, our liberal buddy might be on to something there!

    SW: sure

As in, I’m sure the crack “a liberal’s” mom smoked didn’t affect him/her at all.  I’m sure.

  22. alex says:

Umm. . .I think Mr or Mrs. “Cindy is better than Jesus. You are worse than Hitler.” intended that as irony. Not that I can always tell. . .particularly after Jeff’s recent expeditions to one or two of the nastier and less-explored corners of the leftist barnyard, from which he returned with a lot of particularly noxious crap clinging to his boots (which, alas, subsequently nested and spawned in his comments section). But in this case, I’m fairly sure.

    Relatively sure.

    Er. . .at least, hopeful.

  23. gail says:

Byron York at NRO, has an article about Lisa Fithian, who is apparently pulling the strings or at least helping to operate the sock puppet that is CINDY! He writes:

<blockquote>Fithian is a legendary organizer who operates in the world of anti-globalism anarchists, antiwar protesters, and union activists; an advocate of aggressive “direct action” demonstrations, she protested the first Gulf war, played an important role in the violent shutdown of Seattle during the 1999 World Trade Organization meeting, was a key planner in protests at the Republican and Democratic national conventions in 2000 and 2004, and organized demonstrations at trade meetings in Washington, D.C., Prague, and Genoa.

  24. Jeff Goldstein says:

Just watched a Pearl Harbor survivor and WWII veteran on Neil Cavuto’s show, Tom Mahoney (Maloney?) argue that the soldiers in Iraq aren’t fighting for a noble cause, and that unless you’ve been on the front line (which, of course, he hasn’t been in Iraq) you shouldn’t talk about the war.

He said the US should pull out, that “these people” hate us anyway, and that the war should be over by now.  He agreed with Cindy Sheehan, and he said the reputation of the US is at stake.

He was, all in all, completely incoherent, logically speaking, but he had his decorated veterans cap on, so I suspect this piece of video might show up on, say, Crooks and Liars later.

    Nice!

  25. Jeff Goldstein says:

    Cole got the same comment.

  26. Matt says:

    Best comment on this thread:

    What did George shoot?

    (TW: york….now that’s just creepy)

  27. ss says:

Damn! A soldier died in a war? Shit, that must mean there are bad guys shooting at our boys and trying to stop democracy from taking root! But then again, I’m sure they had their reasons.

  28. Matt says:

What I can’t understand is the idiot moonbat arguments that we’re not the good guys.  Somehow, even when faced with men and woman who murder, rape, oppress, etc., the US isn’t “the good guys”.  So if spending our lives and treasure to bring democracy to an oppressed people, for very little (if any) actual compensation, doesn’t allow us to call ourselves the good guys, then what would ?

I swear, if you were to shoot them up with truth syrum, the average moonbat would confess that he really thinks George Bush is worse than Sadaam Hussein.

  29. BumperStickerist says:

    Truth serum?

Hell, just buy ‘em a Zima.

  30. Lyndsey says:

Wow, what is is about using the word “fascism” that turns them on so much? Wasn’t the original quote, “I’d rather rule in hell than serve in heaven?” (gail knows, I bet)

  31. Steve in Houston says:

It’s simple, apply the Golden Rule here.

If you are in any way supportive of the war and its aims, chances are, The Cindy Brigade would brand you a fascist lapdog.

In the spirit of those comments, and in the words of a True Patriotically Dissenting American, screw ‘em.

  32. Dario says:

    Liberal,

Ask Fabrizio Quattrocchi what he’d rather do.

  33. Sean M. says:

    Zima?

Hell, all you have to do is ask ‘em.

  34. “Better to reign in hell than serve in heaven”

    — Milton (who apparently was a NEOCON FASCIST)

  35. Lyndsey says:

    Thanks, Bill.

  36. corvan says:

You have to understand.  These folks at Cole’s and at Kos’s etc.  don’t really care much one way or the other about Iraqis.  They just hate the United States.  Hate it with a passion so fierce they can’t see anything else.  They really, honest to God like terrorists better than they like the rest of us.  We don’t want it to be that simple, but it is.

Frankly I have no clue what to do about it other than ignore them.  I have to admit, though I’m worried about what they will do as things in Iraq continue to improve.

Yes, I said continue to improve.  Becuase they are improving, and I have a feeling that even the MSM is going to have to notice it soon.

When that happens the left is going to get very, very frustrated.  And, I fear, very dangerous.  But we’ll cross that bridge when we come to it.

  37. Lou says:

Maybe if our troops grew cool beards and wore sandals the moonbats would like the troops more?

  38. File Closer says:

Corvan wrote: “These folks at Cole’s and at Kos’s etc.  don’t really care much one way or the other about Iraqis.  They just hate the United States.”

It sure seems that way sometimes.

  39. Farmer Joe says:

Bill – I thought that was Kahn.

  40. Farmer Joe says:

    Corvan –

I’m betting the MSM will manage to ignore it at least through…

    …wait for it…

    November, 2008.

    TW: heavy… man.

  41. alppuccino says:

How much longer will the MSM be referred to as the MSM and not the LWM?

    Just axing.

  42. h0mi says:

I would rather live as a slave on my knees…

…then die on my feet as a warmonger.

This is supposed to impress me?

  43. kelly says:

Liberal poster has to be a parody troll.

“Live as a slave on my knees…”?? WTF?

    Masochism for Dummies!

  44. Sean M. says:

Well, he/she/it does say “I would rather live as a slave on my knees…then die on my knees as a warmonger.”

Could it be a powerful expression of the transformative power of the experience of suffering in chains, only to later rise up and die on one’s feet?

    Nah.  Probably a typo.

  45. OHNOES says:

PJ O’Rourke remarked in the introduction to his collection of essays, Give War A Chance, that being called a Nazi didn’t bother him because nobody has ever had a fantasy of being tied to a bed and sexually ravished by a liberal.

I love the liberal tripe “Evil? No, impossible! That’s too simplistic!” Morons.

  46. Salt Lick says:

I simply look forward to the evening twenty years hence when the Middle East is democratic, and, God willing, I smoke a cigar and toast the heroes that made it so, pushing down the sad memory of today’s Rosenbergs and their moral confusion. I sometimes do this now for the men and women who contained communism until it imploded, and push down the sad memory of the fellow travelers who likewise couldn’t tell wrong from right.

  47. Liberal Reader,

You are already a slave on your knees to your simplistic worldview.  Emancipation is beyond your grasp.

Fortunatly for you and your ilk, the Marines see things differently.

Ironic, isn’t it?  Our warmongering military keeps you from fulfilling your dream of slavery.  “As He died to make men holy, let us die to make me free.”

    You are a puke.

  48. Should be “men,” not “me.”

    Preview is my friend.

  49. Russ says:

    ss said:

Damn! A soldier died in a war? Shit, that must mean there are bad guys shooting at our boys and trying to stop democracy from taking root! But then again, I’m sure they had their reasons.

In the immortal words of Frank J.:

And I just can’t understand how the phrase “We are losing a soldier a day,” can be followed by anything other than, “so let’s get those f**king bastards.”

  50. kyle says:

For a true WTF moment, glance at this msnbc.com headline.

Am I missing something here?  Didn’t CINDY! already meet with the Prez?  Or was that a Rovian concoction – a red herring designed to dupe simple-minded red-staters?

  51. Hubris says:

The Slinky reference in your title just hit me.  Now I can’t get the fucking song out of my head.

  52. Glen says:

    Re:  msnbc link

A woman who led an anti-war protest for nearly a month near President Bush’s ranch…

I love that. Referring to the annointed one as “A woman” Cause, y’know, she’s really nobody special. Just an ordinary citizen whose son was killed for an illicit imperialist war in Iraqnam based on a lie. Just a plain spoken, HEROIC AMERICAN who, ALL ON HER OWN sought to meet with George “Worse than three Hitlers and half of Hermann Goering too” Bush so she can SPEAK TRUTH TO POWER!

    Glen

  53. AWG says:

Sheehan says president’s refusal to meet has ‘galvanized peace movement’

Great, now CINDY! is mistaking tinfoil hats for rust protection.

  54. docob says:

The Slinky reference in your title just hit me.  Now I can’t get the fucking song out of my head.

I thought it was a reference to that “everyone knows it’s Wendy” song.

  55. me too docob…

Who’s tripping down the streets of the city

    Smiling at everybody she sees

Who’s reaching out to capture a moment

    Everyone knows it’s CINDY!!!

    And cindy has stormy eyes

That flash at the sound of lies

And cindy has wings to fly

Above the clouds, above the clouds

  56. B Moe says:

She now says she is happy the President didn’t meet with her.  All these people understand is failure.  She failed to achieve her objective, so now her mission is a success.

  57. Hubris says:

The Slinky song works if you picture the kids from the commercial playing in the background:

    Everyone knows it’s CINDY!,

At protest fairs, no one really cares,

    if her opinions are sound.

A tent, dissent, you righties get bent,

    Everyone knows it’s CINDY!.

    It’s CINDY!, it’s CINDY!,

Her ranting will fill you with joy.

    Though only a Jew-hating ploy.

  58. DC says:

    I shouldn’t go there, but I will…

    http://huffingtonstoast.com/393/jayson-blair-romance-novelist/

It’s shameless, I know, but it’s about the level of CINDY! (TM)

    Enjoy!

    DC

  59. kyle says:

She now says she is happy the President didn’t meet with her

Again, I could just SWEAR that Bush did meet with her once already.  Did I dream that?

  60. Veeshir says:

This is my favorite headline about Cindy!

    Standoff in Crawford Continues

    I really liked this part

She tearfully laid them before a small cross bearing her son’s name, surrounded by dozens of supporters.

Although there’s a misspelling in there. Read it as surrounded by dozens of reporters

    They’re not even pretending anymore.

  61. Veeshir says:

Oh, and hubris? Thanks. I hadn’t noticed that. Now that fricking song is running through my head and I can’t get it out.

    Bastid.
