Jeff Spicoli Jason Greenslate: “It’s free food, it’s awesome!” [Darleen Click]

Now, understand that Jason isn’t doing anything illegal. Obama wiped out work requirements for EBT in 2009.

Which makes the Leftists at Media Matters all the more mendouchious in their whining that Jason isn’t “representative.”

The same Leftists who scream “racist” any time an EBT recipient of enriched-melanin appears on camera.

Jason is a white dude taking advantage of Obama’s fundamentally changed America. He never could have gotten food stamps for any length of time prior to 2009.

Nothing wrong with showcasing what Barry has wrought, as it isn’t going to get any better.

What was that stat that went out recently, something like 103 million people getting SNAP food in one way or another (around 50 million card holders, and presumably another 53 million children/spouses)?

If that’s accurate, then of course there’s going to be plenty of useless white folk augmenting the lottery/booze/drugs budgets via the money they’re saving on food – “there simply ain’t enough beaners ‘n’ darkies to go around” as the saying goes. (There is a saying that goes that way, right?)

It’s disgraceful; there’s no one in this country with a roof over their head that can’t afford to eat… if they weren’t wasting their food money on other recreations, that is. Last I checked, you could still get a pound of spaghetti for $1, tack on another buck or so for some flavor-goo, and bam, you’re fed for a day for $2.

Perhaps as a money-saving maneuver we could make it so that SNAP cards can be used to directly purchase Powerball tickets. Then nearly all of the money we’re spending on this useless program would go right back to the government, with no pesky “food retailer/farmer/etc.” middlemen in the way. For the EXPEDIENCY!

Based on my admittedly anecdotal experience of being a grocery clerk many moons ago, I can say that probably 90% of Food Stamp recipients do not use them wisely. Carts loaded with expensive brand names and frozen prepared meals. Ten percent were smart shoppers and bought in bulk to obviously cook meals from scratch. Further, for many, many recipients, food stamps just freed up their cash to by smokes, liquor and dog food. Oh, and the whole WIC program was a response to the failure of recipients to provide nutritious food for their children. That is, in classic progressive form, never admit a program has structural problems. Instead, create a new program to address problems created by the first, instead of cleaning up the first.

According to Nancy Pelosi, that’s helping to grow the economy.

I’m not altogether clear on how that was legal.

At least WIC was restrictive … one got coupons specifying exactly what it was good for (e.g. milk, cheese, eggs, certain cereals, dry beans/lentils). EBT cards are pretty much cash cards.

Yeah, Democrat’s loved the way Bill Clinton ended welfare as we knew it back in 1996 so much that the first thing they did in 2009 was to end ending welfare as we knew it.

    – Egyptian cabinet ministers blame Muslim brotrherhood leaders for bloodshed. Say protesters given multiple opportunities to disperse and army acted only after they refused. Cleanup of encampments continues.

  20. Alec Leamas says:

Let’s play “guess who said it:”

“You want to be a photographer or a writer or a musician, whatever — an artist, you want to be self-employed, if you want to start a business, you want to change jobs, you no longer are prohibited from doing that because you can’t have access to health care, especially because you do not want to put your family at risk,”

They’re not upset with our new found friend Jason here, they’re upset with you for noticing him.

  21. Alec Leamas says:

In case you might think the genius misspoke:

“We see it as an entrepreneurial bill,” she said at the time. “A bill that says to someone, if you want to be creative and be a musician or whatever, you can leave your work, focus on your talent, your skill, your passion, your aspirations because you will have health care. You won’t have to be job locked.”

Jason, if that is his name, is having us on. He has to be a Trustafarian. He’s driving an Escalade, for pete’s sake.

I was at the grocery store a couple of weeks back, and the woman in front of me paid for pretty much her entire haul with food stamps.

Then she took it all out to her brand-new Nissan and loaded it.

And people wonder why this could possibly irk.

Now, there’s a possibility that she could have gotten the car as a gift or something. But it still seems wrong.

  24. Slartibartfast says:

BTW he doesn’t stand a chance in hell of being Motley Crue, or any band at all that enjoys an income. As a musician, he’s one in a thousand. Which means there’s a few hundred thousand people just as good, if not more.

  25. Slartibartfast says:

Really, I suspect fraud. The guy’s purportedly a surfer, but we never even saw him don a wetsuit. What self-respecting (or otherwise) surfer would sit out just to give a news interview.

Have the marijuana smokers figured out — based on testing of hair for determination of marijuana use, of which they’re surely aware — that they’re missing out on the ultimate renewable resource recycling? Smoke your hair, people, it’s free dope! Don’t let it go to waste.

  27. Mueller says:

I’m just surprised anybody is surprised.
Drug dealers have been known to give a 100% markup if you use your EBT card.

  28. Libby says:

There’s also this lovely lady,Vivencia Bellegarde, taking advantage of EBT cards – she had 3 of them (only one in her name) when she was pulled over for DUI/running a Boston Globe delivery truck off rt 93.
