“Now, a few words on looking for things. When you go looking for something specific, your chances of finding it are very bad. Because of all the things in the world, you’re only looking for one of them. When you go looking for anything at all, your chances of finding it are very good. Because of all the things in the world, you’re sure to find some of them”—Daryl Zero
That was a great movie.
Fantastic. Pullman should’ve won an Oscar. And I wish they’d made a sequel—or several, like The Thin Man series.
This is good. Excelleqt quotes from movies that I have not seen. I tend to be more of a book person myself, and I know I have a limited range of interests. But this is a very true saying.
TW: sense, as in “It makes a lot of sense.”
Why didn’t I use the “spell” button? Yes, that’s supposed to be “excellent.”
TW: saw, as in “I wish I saw that before I hit submit.” And this security word thing is getting downright scary now.
So what are you saying, Jeff? Is that lump under the middle cushion of Jonah Goldberg’s couch perhaps in need of some investigation, preferably by probing artillery fire followed up by Delta Force troops?
Word of Submission: told, as in, “I told you so.” Which GWB will have to bite his tongue to avoid saying.
Again, not the real me. I am me.
Nice quote but not that useful in everyday life when you are trying to find your pet armadillo.
“Anyting that is not Mystery is just Guess work”
Jerry Jeff Walker
“If heartaches were commercials, we’d all be on TV”
John Prine
“Is this your kid?”
“Nope, just a rental.”
Ah, yes – “The case of the man who lost his keys and got so overwrought that he had a heart attack, when actually the keys were in his sofa all the time.”
FanTAStic movie. And the TV show would have been great too:

You always find the thing you’re looking for in the last place you look. Karma is a killer sweety.
Because who finds something and then keeps looking for it?
