Meanwhile, six arrests have been made in the London terror probe—including one this morning that, in the run-up, forced the evacuation of an area of Birmingham.
Not surprisingly, at least one of the terrorists, Yasin Hassan Omar, was living on the dole—his anti-western jihad, which his neighbors say was no secret (right after 911, he told a local shopkeeper that he was a supporter of Usama Bin Laden) fully subsidized by the British taxpayer and further reinforced by a steady stream of anti-western rhetoric published or broadcast daily by vast swatches of the British media.
As I noted yesterday, one of the biggest threats facing us in the war on terror is the newly radicalized Islamist living inside one of the balkanized Muslim communities that dot western European cities (and, to a lesser extent, cities within the US).
And yes—they are listening to us.
I expect to hear any day now that France (for example) has closed off some of the lost suburbs around Paris and sent in tanks and APC’s full of soldiers to take them back. Violently, if necessary.
When parts of your city are “no-go” zones for armed police, you’ve got a big problem.
That’s probably why they hate us – having to eke out a living on what they get from public assistance. Guy probably couldn’t even afford a wide screen TV to go with his Al-Jazeera cable access.
So, let me see if I have this straight – Do not simply allow people who advocate the overthrow of your way of life entry into the realm, but pay them to remain there while calling for the destruction of said realm.
So…is there a problem with that?
BREAKING: Ahmed Ressam Sentenced to 22 Years for Millennium Terror Plot
Hmm. Bernie Ebbers got 25 years for the Tyco thingy. Al-Ahmed got 22 years for a plot to kill hundreds of people at a U.S. airport with explosives.
The lesson to be learned from the story? Next time you conspire to commit fraud, make sure you have a trunk full of explosives and a turban on your head first.
