More Iraqi Kidnappings

The Jawa Report sends this along:

Three Romanian Journalists have been kidnapped in Iraq. The three victims are Marie Jeanne Ion, Sorin Dumitru Miscoci, and Ovidiu Ohanesian.

As we have noted many times before, paying the ransom demands of hostage takers often leads to more hostage taking…eh, Giuliana Sgrena?

In December, a pro-American President was elected in Romania. Even more importantly, President Traian Basescu was elected publicly proclaiming his support for U.S. policy in Iraq.

Romania has 800 troops in Iraq and President Basescu made a surprise Easter visit to Iraq on Sunday.

Developing…….

I will be updating the post later with photos and information about the three hostages.

You can follow the story here.

How about a big “THANK YOU” to the Italians and the Filipinos for setting the precident of protecting all the soft targets over there by paying off terrorists?  Thanks guys!  Some day you’ll realize that we don’t pay off terrorists because we are a bunch of meanie, cowboy hate-mongers, but because we understand a nuanced concept called unintended consequences.

While I’m at it, I would love for the Italian and Filipino governments give me the recipe for the jello that makes up their collective spines–I have a white-trash party to throw this weekend.

Give the other 797 Romanians a new assignment: find and kill the kidnappers and everybody associated with them. If they recover the 3 alive, so much the better, but make sure the thugs that snatched ‘em end up messily dead, soon.

    Spambuster: street

    As in “street justice”
