To Leslie W., for the X-Files: Fight the Future DVD. I’ll be revisiting this one just as soon as I finish season 4 on DVD.
And speaking of series, “The Office” (BBC) arrived today in all its 4-disc glory, so it looks like I’ve got me some serious couch camping to do.
You know I had never seen the movie Office Space and one day Zombyboy posted a pic of the stapler guy and was whining about how boring his job was.
I was showing a friend some of the blogs I read and I pointed to that picture and said, “I guess that’s him. Not exactly how I pictured him.”
She almost fell out of the chair laughing. She said “you are such an idiot, thats the guy from Office Space.” Heh.
I just realized you wrote “The Office” and not “Office Space.” I guess I am an idiot….
You lucky, lucky, lucky man. The Office is, quite simply, one of the best comedy series in recent memory. It cuts so close to reality at points that I’ve actually had to pause the DVD and walk out of the room for a bit out of sheer vicarious embarrassment for the characters involved.
Have fun with it.
I got the “Wonderfalls” DVD set this week. Very fun show, and there’s six or seven episodes that never aired in the set.

Bingo. I just finished watching the whole set, and I’m in awe.
Agreed re: “The Office.” Try and catch the Christmas special that aired (airs?) on BBC America. It takes place just after the end of Season Two and does a fantastic job of wrapping everything up.
When you’re done with the series and the Christmas Special, don’t miss the full length David Brent “If You Don’t Know Me By Now” video in the special features. It’s priceless.
Jeff, just warning you, I have a pictue of you,Bill, and Ace on my blog.
I know how much Ace likes his privacey, but hey…
Sorry, it was just too good to keep underwraps.
Maybe this is common knowledge to everyone, but Ricky Gervais was in a British new wave band called Seona Dancing from 1982-1984. Here’s a pic of Ricky as Bryan Ferry, Jr. His partner, of course, looks like somebody playing in the Flock of Seagulls farm system.
Classic.
Pronounced SHAW-na dancing. Please.
Some of us lived through the 80s.
Oh,and while I’m at it? It’s pronounced “Thuh Thuh,” not “Thuh Thee” or “Thee Thuh” or “Thee Thee.”
Or maybe not. But I can pronounce Talk Talk correctly, I assure you.
The Office totally kicks ass. The BBC news division might be full of anti-American tripe but the entertainment side can really put out some good shows.
