As our embassies burn and our ambassadors are possibly raped before being murdered…

David Axelrod has an important and pressing concern, as I learned in an email he just sent me:  namely, that “Sheldon Adelson, the conservative billionaire Las Vegas casino owner, has pledged to give up to $100 million — whatever it takes — to defeat Barack Obama.”

Because greed.  Filthy, filthy greed.

So. Won’t you help the Democrats combat the horrific greed of this private citizen you’re being told to hate because he unfairly wants to keep more of his earnings instead of giving them Obama to give to his clients by sending the Democrats money to fight that kind of filthy, filthy greed for you?

Oh. And Israel sucks.

This sort of sums it up. The French published topless photos of Kate Middleton. There are reports that outraged Brits are storming the French embassy.

Oh BTW, Carney is doubling down and now claiming that Mohammed film is to blame for all the problems in the world. That Zawahiri was planning an attack on 9/11 to protest drone attacks is denied (as is the 48 hour notice the WH got). The WH does not need to apologize for attacking al Qaeda (that is a good thing), the WH needs to apologize for not taking security seriously in the Middle East.

Fuck the democrats. I thought the GOP deserved to lose but I really had NO idea just how fucking dim and dreamy the democrats STILL are.

I keep remembering this scene from “A Bronx Tale”

Kid: Is it better to be loved or feared?
Sonny: You’d like to be both, but if I can only pick one, I’d rather be feared. Fear lasts longer.

Shouldn’t we be focusing on why Romney demanded 10 years of tax returns from Ryan yet refuses to release the same?

  5. JHoward says:

Well, at least the US is safe.

Jay personally just flew back to DC this morning at 3:30am.

  6. Pablo says:

Well, I’m glad to know that the Obama Administration has taken up the crucial task of providing YouTube reviews.

  7. Pablo says:

Hey Jay, have you fucking morons considered that it might have something to do with Islamic lunatics? I’m beginning to see a pattern. You?

  8. Libby says:

At least Hillary wasn’t slacking: last night (just two days after an act of war – the murder of our ambassador to Libya) she attended a celebration of the end of Ramadan (Eid Mubarak) with Ali Sulaiman Aujali, Libya’s Ambassador to the United States. Phew, I feel safer already. Here’s part of her speech:

“Good evening, and although I am many weeks overdue in saying it: Eid Mubarak. No matter how belated we are honoring Eid and the end of Ramadan, this is a cherished tradition here at the State Department. And I would like to thank all of you for being here, including the many members of the Diplomatic Corps.”

Don’t worry, though, she did mention the recent “tragedy” at our consulate in Libya. I’m sure the families of the murdered feel comforted by her actions and words.

I’d welcome some good Machiavellians at this point. The Alinskyites have grown more than tiresome.

I don’t suppose Axelrod made any mention of Obama being in Adelson’s neck of the woods, doing exactly what he accuses the Romney camp of doing?

  11. leigh says:

Libby, I’m laying the bulk of the blame for this fiasco, Mid-Eastern world-wide at the flat feet of Hillary’s Department of State.

Jughead is busy shucking and jiving for dollars, smack-talking with DJs and reviewing YouTube videos.

I can’t wait to hear the heartfelt message for Rosh Hashanah this Sunday and the rememberance of the High Holy Days.

  14. Every time I think this present clusterf**ked, clown car full of fools and actively evil people cannot do anything worse, they do.

And the legacy press cheers them on.

    Gah.

  15. leigh says:

Ah geez, geoff. It looks like it’s on.

  16. Libby says:

ITA, Leigh. Hillary should be fired, except that Obama never admits his mistakes, and, well, he need Bill to keep campaigning for him. It’s bad enough that there possibly was advance notice of the Libya attacks and Hillary (and Obama, if she was able to reach him on the campaign trail) did nothing. But seriously, kissing Muslim a$$ by celebrating Ramadan with Libya’s ambassador just days after Stevens was murdered? WTF is going on at the State Dept. – has she been totally compromised by the Muslim Brotherhood?

  17. geoffb says:

Also (h/t sdferr), the view from the rarefied air high over Manhattan.

It is hard to overestimate the risks that Benjamin Netanyahu poses to the future of his own country. As Prime Minister, he has done more than any other political figure to embolden and elevate the reactionary forces in Israel, to eliminate the dwindling possibility of a just settlement with the Palestinians, and to isolate his country on the world diplomatic stage. Now Netanyahu seems determined, more than ever, to alienate the President of the United States and, as an ally of Mitt Romney’s campaign, to make himself a factor in the 2012 election—one no less pivotal than the most super Super PAC. “Who are you trying to replace?” the opposition leader, Shaul Mofaz, asked of Netanyahu in the Knesset on Wednesday. “The Administration in Washington or that in Tehran?”

Which seems a projective echo of this from an Ulsterman piece.

Obama’s reaction to these words were, “agitation followed by derision”. The president then leaned toward the Prime Minister and said:

“You have just as much blood on your hands as they do. They got a right to exist as well. Everybody does. And I don’t want this thing…this back and forth…you and them…I don’t want this turning into an election issue for me, right? I can’t be telling those people how to treat your country any more than you want me telling you how to treat them, right? You see where I’m at in this?

Don’t you turn this into something that might take away Jewish votes for me. That’s what you got going here – I know what you’re up to. Don’t do it. This thing…Iran…don’t try…don’t hurt me politically with it. You need us. We don’t need you.”

I’m getting sick to my stomach watching this display at Andrews. How much preparation went into this spectacle?

Why aren’t the dead being returned to Dover like everyone else? Why is this on television?

  19. Pablo says:

This is shameless. Disgusting. Pathetic. This prick has no class whatsoever.

  20. leigh says:

I’m truly scandalized by this, and I’m not being facetious. This has to be the most horrific and shaeless bullshit I’ve ever, ever, EVER seen.

Jughead is quoting scripture inaccurately and saying the words on TOTUS without meaning a fucking thing of it.

  21. Pablo says:

We’re supposed to be returning these men to their families. These assholes want to do a song and dance over it.

Since when do we do eulogies during a transfer of remains? What a fucking narcissistic punk.

  22. Squid says:

I’ll give a dollar to anyone in earshot who can shout “These people died for your sins, Saint Barry!” loud enough for the microphones to pick it up.

  28. Libby says:

Re: Speech in front of the coffins. A friend’s son was murdered in a big city, high-profile crime (brutal, multiple victims). The case was tied to political issues, and went unsolved for years, so that any time anyone remotely involved in the case was in the news, or there were any leads in the case, the local news stations rolled the canned footage of my friend’s son’s covered body being removed from the crime scene. It was unbelievably painful to have to relive that night over and over again. And now the families of the slain in Libya will have the same pleasure. I cannot believe they did this.

  29. cranky-d says:

Romney it is, then. I’m going to vote for him.

  30. leigh says:

Good deal, cranky. It’s the only way out for now.

I saw Joe the Biden scuttling along after Hill, but take notice that they didn’t let him speak.

Romney offers a moment of silence at his rally. Suggests that the skies are crying today.

  31. leigh says:

That’s horrible, Libby. Thoughtless fucking pls.

  32. leigh says:

    pols that is

  33. palaeomerus says:

Yup. Me too. As a ‘fuck you’ to Obama and every stupid lump of fail that voted for him. And then when Romney fucks me I’ll act surprised and disappointed. But it’s worth it. This is the only way I can pee in Obama’s eye though.

This is my new “When you see the Baron, remember the tooth! The Tooth!” theory of politics.

“Yueh. Yueh! A million deaths would not be enough for Yueh.”

  34. cranky-d says:

McGehee gave a good reason at his blog (though, like he said, he was not trying to convince anyone, and neither am I). Obama is too toxic to this country to let him continue, even though I think voting for Romney just encourages the GOP to continue putting up crappy candidates and furthers our destruction.

Others will see it differently and write in someone who actually deserves the presidency, and I will not fault them for it.

  35. Pablo says:

So, while the caskets were being unloaded from the plane, this tweet went out.

I’m considering a quick name-change so that I can be listed as “Fuhk U. Ohbamah” on the ballot.

Well sure you want to look your best when the icy death elves sweep down from the wall and turn us all into Wights. The answer to impending doom and recent tragedy is to sell sweatshirts with slogans and logos on ’em. Forward!

I’d rather be feared too. When people love you they expect you to love them back — and I’m not a big enough liar to pull that off.

  41. McGehee says:

And then when Romney fucks me I’ll act surprised and disappointed.

I’m planning to act bored and disgusted. It’ll be a stretch, because I’m pretty much bored and disgusted all the time anyway.

  42. leigh says:

Eric Bollen is slamming Hillary on The Five.

I’ve moved from write-in to undecided between write-in and Romney.

I still maintain that Romney has to give me a reason to vote for him other than I’m not Obama because Romney can’t say or do anything to make me despise Obama more than I already do.

What I failed to account for, however, is Obama saying and doing things that make me despise him more than I already did.
