“The Supreme Court has recognized the ability of the federal government to use what’s known as “prosecutorial discretion” in the enforcement of immigration law.
– Which is to say, by use of some bullshit doubletalk the Court has made a fucking joke out of our Constitution.
– I will challenge any Judge in the entire country to show us where the word “discretionary” appears in the Constitution in connection with the specific cluases and powers of the three branches of government. Any amount they’d care to wager. Its pure fantasy.
Doesn’t freaking address the question I want answered: does the “only deport super bad guys” policy actually allow more criminals to go free? Because I could certainly see slowing the process down and going “well, he only has a DUI,” arguments gridlocking the system, but I’m willing to admit that rubber stamping people back to the border might be a policy that needs to be tweaked. Really, really, really would like to hear more from the agents themselves.
If the federal government has prosecutorial discretion in immigration, it would seem to me that obligates the feds to accept help offered by state and local governments — as opposed to prohibiting states and locals from doing anything at all…
– The Federal governmebt has become a defacto “king of England”, an entity onto itself, totally indedendent of the Constitution or the wishes of the people. It does not recognize, much less honor, the soveriegnty of the citizen or the States, ignores its own laws, and just rolls along doing whatever the fuck it wants to.
– Or, put another way at a time when countless millions are struggling just to feed there families, Jug ears is shooting hoops in the hood for mure under the table campaign bucjs, and Romney and company is out there somewhere convincing everyone he’s a wuss, and the two parties and their conventions are locked in a death match over an issue no one is going to do a damn thing about, its really enough to piss off a saint.
But see, that’s what gets me. The most common reason people are pulled over is for being bad drivers. So are these illegal immigrants who already proved themselves to be bad on the road and still have to be let go because they aren’t convicted murderers? Or is this more difficult territory, like raiding houses during birthday parties?
I really want to hear first hand from these agents. I suspect it would be seriously enlightening.
– Yes, there’s definately a reason the Left is making the war-on-women its signiture issue for this election. Aside from the hardliners its about the only potentially solid demographic they havn’t alienated.
How will CJ Roberts phrase his “that’s a political question” answer this time?

– Common MeGehee, States are the enemy. If they tried 1/10 the flyimg luing bullshit that the Supremes get away with they’d be laughed out of town.
No, no, no BBH. The State is E-vil! We had this talk last weekend or the one before. Remember?

– We need to party likes its 1622.
As Mark Steyn likes to say, “George III never would have done this to you.”
– In other words, don’t get me started.
– Popcorn.

– Or as Samuel Clements once said:
“Principles are only important when you’re fed.”
They should play Benny Hill music at the border and only chase women with big breasts.
Riiight. Up til the time the bastard who wasn’t deported like he should have been wipes out your family on the highway…
