“Here’s what I know for sure, Billy: the Colorado board of regents is scared to death of me—scared of the way I deconstruct traditional notions of ‘art’; scared of my willingness to condemn their bogus country, built over the bones of our ancestors; and finally, scared that I’ll sue their asses off for civil rights violations should they dare try shitcanning me. In fact, rumor has it that they’re planning on offering me a 7 or 8 figure buy out.”*
“Wow. Well, like I’ve always said: if it weren’t for denim jackets and hippie chicks, identity politics would be the coolest invention ever.”*
“Yeah. I’m thinking about buying a casino. I’ve always had a thing for showgirls. And Dean Martin music.”* |
I wonder if the buy out will be real money or counterfeit?
I dearly wish someone with a talent for that sort of thing would photoshop Wart as a Lounge Lizard
CU leadership ( if such an inappropriate word can be used for Hoffman ) is showing an extraordinary amount of cowardice in this scandal so far.
CU leadership: is this an oxymoron?
For a glimpse of the prevailing mindset among some of the CU staff, take a listen to the CU Professor Braider tapes. Braider reasons that since the investigation into Churchill was launched for the wrong reason, suppression of free speech, any evidence of wrong doing such as lying, plagiarism, forgery, assault, etc is inadmissible and should be ignored. A first amendment spin on Miranda if you will.
I hope that this argument does not win out.
I’m guessing Donald Trump is not on the Colorado board of regents.
…if it weren’t for denim jackets and hippie chicks, identity politics would be the coolest invention ever.
You’re an evil man, Jeff.
Ward Churchill as a lounge singer? “Send in… the clowns… Those little Eichmann clowns…” *
Well, at least we know that the (horribly racist, I’m sure) phrase “Honest Injun” won’t ever be applied to good ol’ Ward again.
(Turing word = “race,” Honest Injun!)
Ward Churchill is going to be rich when this charade is over.
Not for long. We’ll sell him a bunch of Indian art made in Taiwan.
