BREAKING:  FOXNEWS WASHINGTON EDITOR BRIT HUME SPENDS FRIDAY PLAYING XBOX, EATING PISTACHIO NUTS AMID SUSTAINED PRESSURE FROM LEFTWING ACTIVISTS THAT HE STEP DOWN; A CONCERNED OLIVER WILLIS CURSES HUME AS A “CONTINUED AFFRONT TO TRUTH,” DECIDES PISTACHIO NUTS “SOUND YUMMY”, BUYS A 40 LB. SACK

Meanwhile, in more substantive news….yesterday I linked to Declan McCullagh’s CNET interview with FEC commissioner Bradley Smith. Today, former editor of Insight Magazine and Washington Times reporter Paul Rodriguez interviews Smith on Rightalk Radio.

Full disclosure:  My affiliation with Rightalk radio is strictly platonic.

update:  Kossacks call for attacks on controversial HARD-RIGHT IDEOLOGUE Alan Greenspan; Americablog’s John Aravosis, fresh off his Jeff Gannon outing, said to be scouring the internet for “any old daguerreotypes” of cut Alan Greenspan COCK!

More here (thanks Michele)

****

the BECAUSE OF THE HYPOCRISY update: Kossacks “clarify” their aims:  “to make it amply clear, this is emphatically not a call for a ‘smear’ campaign. This is a call to reveal the truth about Alan Greenspan (and his associates).”

The eight years Greenspan labored for the Clinton administration—during which time this search for truth, on behalf of concerned lefties, was not quite so pressing—could not be reached for comment.

  1. claudette says:

    mmmm………  pistachio nuts!

  2. Zeb Trout says:

Sorry to confuse the issue, but I’ve been out of town.  So…what computer did you get?

  3. Ah, the Kos twits are following the lead of Harry Reid of vilifying a man who was the pick as Fed Reserve Chair of their own President for 8 years.

I’m not as fond of Alan Greenspan as I might be, ( for among other things, I think he contributed to the 2001 recession with some of how the Fed Reserve handled Y2K ).  But the actions of the Democrats show that they will attack like a mob of fanatics anyone who dare even hint that their little religious icons aka welfare programs might actually require competent fiscal management.

  4. Jim in Chicago says:

I bet ole Ollie toasted those pistachios in a vat of bacon grease.

  5. Nathan Lanier says:

If we could just knock it off with that whole stubborn <URL=http://money.cnn.com/2005/03/04/markets/markets_newyork/index.htm>good news>/UR>, all would be well over at Kos.

  6. Nathan Lanier says:

Well, I really blew that comment.  My apologies.

  7. Chris says:

Dude… that is so fucking funny I think I actually got skiddies in my drawers!  I can just picture Willis with his face in a 40lbs bag-o-nuts.

    Too funny.

you have to check out political teen…

  8. Cover Me, Porkins says:

Have you ever played Brit Hume on Halo 2? Guy’s an animal. GT is 4A1RN8ALANC3D. He trash-talks when he drops you, “get owned by me next time; fair, balanced and unfraid of you, punk!”

  9. Dodd says:

Is there anything more self-annahilating than a Kos-ite calling for exmaples of things someone has said that are “just plain wrong, venal or stupid”?

  10. sortapundit says:

Regarding the Political Teen’s link to my petition, I notice that a certain Jeff Goldstein still hasn’t signed up.

C’mon Jeff.  We need someone to bring the funny.  I mean, Rusty Shackleford tells a mean knock knock joke, but it ain’t exactly high brow.

I also notice Glenn Reynolds hasn’t returned my calls.  All you folk coming from there should go back and smack ole Glenn upside the head.

  11. CraigC says:

    cut Alan Greenspan COCK!

Jeff…..Jeff……Jiffie Jeff…….the only thing worse than that image is the image of The Chairman, um, planting that flag on Mons Andrea.

  12. BumperStickerist says:

    Amen to that…

Andrea Mitchell craps bigger than “Armando”, “Hunter”, and Markos combined

… which is a reason enough for Alan to get out of the house and go to work at the Fed.

  13. Ray Midge says:

My God, I clicked on that ‘kossack’ link and am still simply stunned.  That’s just raw nasty.  I mean, am I mistaken, or isn’t that what evil’s sposed to look like when it’s not bothering with any pretense, just hangin’ round the house on a Sunday watching the games in its skivies?  Out and out Angela Lansbery, cold blooded, calculating, whatever’s necessary-to-bring-about-the-great-future sorta evil.

And to do it so openly?  Sure, at least he updates to inform his minions not to call what they’re doing by its name, but c’mon?  That’s it?  Is that the way it is now?  Maybe I don’t realize how politics is really played now, but at least, in the past, if the players did that sorta thing, they did it behind closed doors.  I mean, even cockroaches have the decency to be scurry from the light.  They’re just… damn!

  14. Bubba says:

i kin pitcher ol ollie with his face in sumbodys nutsack even if it didn’t way 40 pounds!

  15. Pluto's Dad says:

This is crazy. Greenspan is probably the only non-partisan working in Washington. Ever since the beginning of Volker’s term, no president has dared to put a partisan hack in the Fed, the fed’s job it too important. That is why both democrats and republicans have supported Greenspan in the past.

Greenspan supports Bush? Yeah right. Apparently to the democrats, if you aren’t foaming at the mouth with hatred for Bush, then you obviously are biased for Bush.

If Bush or any Democrat president put a partisan in the Fed, it would torpedo the economy just like Johnson and Carter managed to.

The democrats must have really lost it to turn on Greenspan now. They are really driving right off the cliff, aren’t they?

  16. Pluto's Dad says:

Oh that doesn’t mean I think Greenspan is brilliant. I agree if you could blame one person for the recession it would have to be him keeping interest rates high.

But there is a difference between saying someone did something wrong and impunging their integrity.

Of course, I knew democrats who, even then, thought Greenspan was deliberately trying to wreck the economy during the last year of Clinton’s presidency to hurt Gore in the election. I could not even make something like that up if I tried.

Turing word: number. As in , the Fed counts numbers.

  17. Jeff Goldstein says:

    Zeb —

I wound up getting a Dual G5 PowerMac.

  18. JWebb says:

A Dual G5 PowerMac. With Photoshop benchmarks off the scale.

Forget Greenspan. Be afraid of Goldstein.

    Be very afraid.

  19. Rob says:

I’m with Brit, pistachio nuts rock!  Btw, what’s a ‘Kos’?

  20. A dual G5 PowerMac?

    Shit.

    I’m still only in Saigon.

    I really miss Martha.

  21. Jeff Goldstein says:

Was that a good choice?  I want to move into some video and animation, as well as continue to work with the Adobe Suite.

  22. Sean M. says:

Rob, Kos is a nasty little man who helps Democrats lose elections.

  23. My opinion, a great choice, especially for video.  I can’t even spell animation.  But I am watching the Simpsons now.

  24. Scott P says:

Well, I owe you $10 more on top of what I gave before, but a deal’s a deal .

Congratulations.  Welcome to the Wonderful World of Mac!

  25. Scott P says:

And it’s a great choice.  It will kick my DP G4s ass and look really good doing it.

You’ll be able to run Final Cut Pro and just about anything else you want to run, no problem.  Get a pro video card when you’re ready but it will be a while before you outgrow the internal, unless you’re doing some serious cutting.

  26. Sean M. says:

Oh, great.  The thread’s been hijacked by a bunch of hippies.

[ducks and covers in anticipation of Mac-cultist flame war]

  27. JWebb says:

I’m thinking Final Cut Pro is a subtle reference to Gannon.

  28. Scott P says:

Ex-hippy, Sean M.  The long hair and bong are long gone but the Mac remains…

  29. Beck says:

I’m kinda surprised they’re so bald about targeting not just Greenspan, but also his wife and anyone close to him.  Real classy.

  30. sortapundit says:

At the end of the day, there really isn’t anything to worry about.  I mean, well, there just so bad at it.  If they aren’t making themselves look foolish attacking someone for *gasp* misquoting a long dead president, they spend weeks desperately srambling to bring down a representative of the mighty Talon News.

All they’ll find is that Greenspan once dated Barbara Walters.

  31. dorkafork says:

I’m sure they’re, ah… ”searching” for incriminating memos as we speak.

  32. Beck says:

Greenspan was in a swing band during WWII.  The lazy sand bagging chicken hawk.

  33. haha.

Everytime I read this blog, I laugh out loud.

    Keep up the great work!

  34. NukemHill says:

Jeff.  Congrats on the new duallie.  That means I owe you at least $20.  I’ll paypal it to you as soon as I free up my CC.  Should be in a couple of days.

And yes, you made the right choice re: video and animation.  Just remember:  you can neither have too powerful a graphics card nor too much memory. :spongg:

  35. Matt Moore says:

The sad thing to me is, even if they take down Greenspan it will have not effect on their actual goal. SS privatization is dead with or without Al’s support.

  36. TomK says:

Sean M, don’t worry, I don’t think there’ll be a flame war over Jeff’s choice.  I’m a PC partisan, so part of me is not happy he went with the G5, but he did say he wanted to do video, and even I gotta admit that the Mac is not a bad choice for that.  At least he was smart enough to get the Dual G5 (he’s gonna need every bit of processor power he can get).

And for you guys telling him about better video cards, take it slower!  First we wait till he gets tired of doing nothing while his machine finishes a render, then we mention that more power can be had and get him curious, then we bait him into upgrading (maybe we can buy the first upgrade as a teaser), then next thing you know, he’s trapped on the upgrade treadmill and he’s an addict just like us.  He will be assimilated.

Turing Word: normal, as in, after we get ahold of him, Jeff will no longer be normal (or at least he’ll still be abnormal but in a different way from now).

  37. FOXNEWS WASHINGTON EDITOR BRIT HUME SPENDS FRIDAY PLAYING XBOX

Ack! A sure sign of being a fascist: supporting Microsoft!!! tongue wink

  38. […]

Sortapundit (recently added to ARC’s blogroll because he referenced our fledgling site on his due to the unbelievable content served up) suggests that we dig into the personal lives of the Kossacks. My gut tells me that this will get ugly… And I’m not sure that this will EVER result in them awakening from their current idiocy, but… what the heck? Sometimes tit for tat is all about the fun of the tit… or something like that.

  39. sortapundit says:

I actually tried to reason with those guys this afternoon.  Boy, did it get ugly.  102 comments calling me a hate filled right winger through and through.

If any of you guys have accounts at DailyKos, go over there and recommend my diary until it lands on the front page.

    Jesus, those guys are mental.

  40. bryan says:

Jeff, congrats on the dual g5. As a Powerbook user, I can tell you it will be a wise investment.

JWebb, I’m thinking Final Cut Pro is a subtle reference to Gannon.

Are you sure it isn’t Final Cut Pro HD?

  41. nate piper says:

    Rob,

Actally, a “Kos” is a whining, retarded hippie who, if you dare to disagree with the Kos/DNC Party Line, will cancel your DailyKos account and purge all the threads where you destroy the Kossites feeble attempts at argumentation.

    Trust me.
