Which he can do, because Solyndra isn’t a scandal. And it isn’t a scandal because the mainstream press, always willing to shield progressive politicians, refused to present it that way (or if they did, like is the case here, did so sparingly and not glaringly). Which means the “scandal” didn’t happen — or, if it did, it couldn’t have been a scandal, else the mainstream press would have reported on it as such and then followed up with the same kind of zeal they dedicated to, say, Mitt Romney’s prepschool haircutting, or Sarah Palin’s dangerous uterus.
The “green energy” scam has always been a way to target the wealth of others by way of government power and plunder; that it makes use of true believers in the global warming mythology is to be expected (this is, after all, what useful idiots do) — just as it’s to be expected that, like everything else the left supposedly champions, green energy and green jobs having nothing to do with it.
The environmental movement as adopted by governments seemingly acting in against their own sovereign interests is and has always been a wealth redistribution scheme designed to rejigger the market to create both centralized control and openings for graft and payola for preferred clients in bed with the statist movement within government. That is, the “green energy” push is perfectly emblematic of the way liberal fascism works and is designed to work. That the citizens/subjects may suffer (for the children!) is immaterial; so long as the government expands its power and control, the politicians and the leftist ideologues come out on the other end doing just fine, thank you.
The fact is, as an electorate, we’ll continue to be susceptible to the maneuverings of the liberal fascists so long as we either tacitly or vocally agree to be cowed by emotional appeals and shaming — the two fundamental rhetorical tentacles of the Leviathan’s messaging.
Conformity of stated belief is demanded. This is how the left controls you — even if you don’t know you’re being controlled. Just ask the folks on the right who went after John Derbyshire, and who are now going after Michele Bachmann and Alan West.

How can in be a scandel to try to save Mother Gaia?
We should have a term for people who use environmentalism to push statism. Some combination of “green” for Gaia and “red” for socialism. And what with the warm summer and all, we should try to pick something summery, like picnics and such.
Hmmm… Green on the outside, but red at heart. Summertime treat…
Nope. Drawing a blank here.
Oooh, oooh, oooh, I got it, Squid! Guava!
Pluot?!
Blood pudding?
A tick?!
Scum-sucking leech?
Blood orange!
I got it — unripe tomato! No, wait, those aren’t red in the middle. Dammit! Back to square one.
Social capitalists is what they are.
How else would he get re-paid for the stimulus funds he approved that were not paid to their legal creditors as a result of the bankruptcy which was probably planned from the start?
Green on the outside, red on the inside…. A sloth? That kinda fits.
“A sloth? ”
