“Mitt Romney Signs The ObamaCare Repeal Pledge”

From a press release issued by Virginia Coley, communications director of the Independent Women’s Voice:

Republican Presidential candidate Mitt Romney has signed The Repeal Pledge to undo ObamaCare.

“Mitt Romney’s decision to put pen to paper, and sign The ObamaCare Repeal Pledge shows voters that, when it comes to health care, he gets it,” said Heather Higgins, President & CEO of Independent Women’s Voice.  “He understands that ObamaCare represents a government infringement on our constitutional liberties, and he knows that if implemented, it will lead to more government and less freedom, will place government bureaucrats between doctors and their patients, and will limit patients’ choice and control.”

“Because Mitt Romney has signed the Pledge he has sent a clear signal to voters that, as President, he would sign the full and complete repeal of this government take-over of our private health care decisions,” Higgins added.

The Repeal Pledge advocates not just repeal, but defunding, deauthorizing, and dismantling the misleadingly-titled Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, passed in early 2010.  The Repeal Pledge was designed as a litmus test to help the American public understand which candidates and office holders are serious about repeal, versus those who claim to be but won’t actually take action.

Now, all he’ll have to do is get the GOP leadership in the House out of the way.  Because frankly, they seem hell-bent on keeping much of this thing — having noticed, evidently, that laws passed by statist Democrats meant to expand the power and wealth of the federal government will, when it comes their time to rule over us, also expand the power and wealth of Republicans in the federal government.

— Who, naturally, will use that power and wealth far more judiciously when it comes to manipulating and controlling the lives of their subjects.  Also, lower tax rates!

So why not get your asses in line?

I’m no fan of Mitt, but I’ll be happy to help him with this.

His speech to the VFW wasn’t bad, either. He hit Obama exactly where he should and proposed exactly the right remedies, which, at this point, only need to include, “Whatever Obama did? We ain’t doin it.”

I wonder if Mitt is finally waking up to the reality of whom exactly he’s dealing with. If it pushes him rightward, all the better.

Tentatively, I’d say “You didn’t build it” seems to have been a clarifying moment for Mitt. We shall see.

Either that or the fruit hangs so low that only a moron (i.e., the average Repub) wouldn’t be able to hit it out of the park, to mix metaphors.
