In related news, looks like Pelosi found Biden’s stash:

“I could have arrested Karl Rove on any given day,” Pelosi said on Wednesday, The Huffington Post reports. “I’m not kidding. There’s a prison here in the Capitol. If we had spotted him in the Capitol, we could have arrested him.”

This is starting to have some serious entertainment potential.

Did he do something new or just on general principle?

    No balls?

Oh wait…. here it is… respect for the office held by the much esteemed President Bush.
    That is it. Professional courtesy..
She’s a worse liar than Holder… but I find myself parsing transparent and obvious without meaning to

  6. mojo says:

I take it they both lost money.

Relax, Senators – it was just two guys beatin’ each other up. Hardly a Federal matter.

  7. palaeomerus says:

I think McCain may have just inadvertently asked the mob to harass or intimidate his daughter.

  8. LBascom says:

The man doesn’t have control over of his own state for 50 miles north of the Mexican border, and he’s bent over boxing.

    He’s no douche, he’s a hemorrhoid.

They just cannot resist sticking their hands in everything, can they?

It’s not any of their frelling business.

  12. B Moe says:

So what is their solution? Give Don King a Cabinet post, Secretary of Boxing?

He would bring a bit of competence and gravitas to the place.

And you thought I refuse to turn my back on them to protect my wallet.

Is there nothing the Federal government can’t make better?

Is there nothing the Federal government can’t make better?

    That’s an interesting thought…

Maybe the government should focus all its energies on making NOTHING better! It’s brilliant! Keeps the parasites harmlessly out of the way while simultaneously exposing them for the parasites they are, and even at their most (in)efficient, they will still succeed! *applause*

    I salute you, sir.

I guess MMA is next. Then they’ll cancel football and make us all play soccer without a score.

  17. leigh says:

My son and I have been talking about how awesome it would be if high schools took up rugby as a sport. Think of the savings in equipment. Not only that, lack of padding will ensue that you better know what the hell you’re doing when you get out on the field.

  18. Squid says:

“Ineffective oversight of professional boxing will continue to result in scandals, controversies, unethical practices, a lack of trust in the integrity of judged outcomes and most tragic of all, unnecessary deaths in the sport.” — Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.)

At least the man is honest about the prospects of his proposed Strong Central Authority.

  19. EBL says:

John McCain has a raging boner about MMA. He thinks it diminishes The Sweet Science.

  20. RI Red says:

Speaking of douche-bags, Jeff, we haven’t had many mendacious twatwaffle* trolls here recently. What’s up with that?

    *credits to squid, I think.

  21. McGehee says:

I think the correct adjective is “mendoucheous.” Dunno if that’s a Squidism or not.
