Pop quiz

George Zimmerman? Arrested to avoid charges that police are racists. Asian pedophile gang? Well, compare and contrast.

This is all quite predictable, by the way, “conservatives.” In fact, it’s inevitable. But you just keep telling yourselves that you aren’t ceding anything to the left each time they dictate the rules of the game and the language used both to inscribe and enforce those rules.

Maybe then, if you play nice, they’ll eat you last.

When they came for the gun-owners, I did nothing, for I did not own a gun.
When they came for the devout Catholics, I did nothing for I was not Catholic.
When they came for those with excessive carbon footprints, I did nothing because I recycle my trash.
When they came for the conservatives, I did nothing, for I was a Libertarian.
When the came for “the rich”, I did nothing for I was middle class.

When they came for me, there was no one left to do anything.

    This makes me laugh.

  3. LBascom says:

I don’t think the authorities were scared of being called racist, I think they are terrified of Muslims.

  4. StrangernFiction says:

My favorite example of “conservatives” buying in is their acceptance of the use of the unemployment rate as an economic gauge.

  5. sdferr says:

People say “culture” because they think it makes them sound smart. Duped is more like it.

  6. mojo says:

    Perhaps if we’re nice he’ll go away…

  7. JohnInFirestone says:

    Darth,

I was thinking of the exact same picture.

Which is even funnier (sadder?) when you consider that Zimmerman helped a falsely accused black kid while Fauxcahontas never attended any Indian ceremonies and her family may have actually rounded-up Cherokee…

  8. cranky-d says:

Of course the authorities are terrified of Muslims. They don’t want to be killed.

Societies like ours function only because the vast majority of people obey the law and respect the rights of others. Once you get to the point that a significant minority will kill people willy-nilly the whole thing falls apart.

  9. mc4ever59 says:

I can’t say that I’m surprised that things such as equal protection under the law, the law itself, or the constitution have been subverted as they have been.
I must admit, however, at surprise in how quickly, openly, and without much resistance it has happened.

  10. How close are they (we?) to Capone’s heyday in the 1920’s?

  11. Squid says:

I must admit, however, at surprise in how quickly, openly, and without much resistance it has happened.

Not that quickly, really. It’s been going on for 2/5ths of our nation’s existence, at least. Include Reconstruction in the mix, and it’s more like 2/3rd of our history.

  12. cranky-d says:

Gang members tend to kill other gang members. Generally they leave civilians alone, since that is where they get their money. The only involuntary civilian involvement would usually be protection rackets that affect a small minority of people directly.

On the other hand, Muslim extremists are willing to kill anyone and everyone.

  13. mc4ever59 says:

Squid, perhaps a lot of it is perception on my part. But I’m looking at the last 40-50 years in particular, and this version of the dem/liberal cabal specifically.
Another disconcerting thing fairly recently is how open and brazen it is becoming. They’re not even bothering so much with lip service and window dressing anymore.

  14. cranky-d says:

    I need an editor.

  15. cranky-d says:

I find the lack of lip service and window dressing refreshing. Let them say, loud and proud, what they actually intend to accomplish.

  16. mc4ever59 says:

Cranky-d, that’s a good point. But there are two things I find disturbing about it.
    1) the contempt for the constitution and law from the very people sworn to uphold them.
    2) the seeming lack of notice- or apprehension- from the general population about it.
Now, the arrogance from ‘the elite’ could carry the seeds of their own destruction in it. On the other hand, it could be a case of, “we know things you don’t , and are justifiably confident that we can, and shortly will, see our plans come to fruition.

Meanwhile, the people sleep. In the face of a threat as spelled out for them as the koran is and ‘Mein Kampf’ was.

  17. LBascom says:

Including themselves. One second you’re wearing explody underwear, the next, 72 virgins are feeding you grapes and fanning you with palm branches.

  18. LBascom says:

mc4ever59, the story is from England. They serve the queen, not a constitution.

  19. mc4ever59 says:

Haven’t slept since Saturday, Lee. Which is my excuse as to why you lost me.

Our sad, pathetic, broken Cousins across the pond.

I’m waiting for the cruise liner. “Trips from America to ‘ol Blighty. If you’re lucky, we’ll hit an iceberg. If not, we’ll anchor off the Thames for a bit (we ain’t coming into port), give everybody binoculars, and you can look at yobs beating, robbing, and stabbing old people. ‘Asians’ raping kids. And the coppers arresting the victims who say anything about it”.

  21. Alec Leamas says:

Unrelated, but it looks like happyfeet’s, um, argument has prevailed upon the Preznit.

  22. Mike LaRoche says:

And I’ll be over there in just 15 days. Well, at least I won’t be anywhere near Manchester.

  23. Lamontyoubigdummy says:

    72 virgins.

Yup, Lee…and they’re virgins because they’re all 9 yrs old. Just like mohamed’s was.

  24. Lamontyoubigdummy says:

Well, at least I won’t be anywhere near Manchester.

Damn. I forgot to mention soccer hooligans.

This is a good movie, btw.

Frodo is less of a candy ass.

  25. leigh says:

    Try the other thread, Alec.

  26. Lamontyoubigdummy says:

    Blue on blue cat fight!

    I don’t know if it’s provocative…but it’s delicious.

Over/under on whether they move it?

  27. Squid says:

I agree with you that it’s gotten really out of hand in the past couple of generations. My point is that we’re not looking at some sort of brazen new attack, but rather the endgame of a quiet war that’s been going on forever.

What’s scary is if you graph the Proggs’ progress against time, it looks an awful lot like an asymptotic curve. I just wish I could confidently identify the date representing the asymptote…

  28. Squid says:

Over/under on whether they move it?

Ah, but where to? I’d suggest Wheeling.

  29. Mike LaRoche says:

Damn. I forgot to mention soccer hooligans.

This is a good movie, btw.

Frodo is less of a candy ass.

That looks like a good film. The only other one that I remember seeing which referenced soccer hooligans was a comedy from several years ago, Eurotrip.

  30. leigh says:

They don’t have time to move it, Lamont, even if they are so inclined. All the security has already been scouted out and the venues booked ages ago. It’d be a logistical nightmare to move it at this late date. They’ll make noise about moving it, but it’ll stay there.

Watch for outrageous public displays of affection from the Out!raged! Gheys, though. This could be real must-see teevee. Or not.

  31. Lamontyoubigdummy says:

Good point, leigh. I guess the main venue in NC is big enough for the styrofoam Greek columns?

  32. Lamontyoubigdummy says:

Quit lying Mike. I saw it too. And we both know damn well what you “remember” about Eurotrip.

    And it wasn’t Vinnie Jones.

Wasn’t “Scotty doesn’t know” either. Though, that was hilarious.

    Back on topic: This.

If a jury finds Zimmerman not guilty, the “Justice Department” is just gonna take him back of the courthouse and put two in his head.

But that won’t happen. They’ll find him guilty. Because this is gonna be the biggest bought jury since Capone.

  33. Lamontyoubigdummy says:

    Nevermind, leigh.

Not digging Romney yet, but I just love how Romney “flip flops”, and His Majesty…”evolves”.

It’s like a nuance grenade exploded and there’s ass-kissing metaphors everywhere.

  34. Mike LaRoche says:

Quit lying Mike. I saw it too. And we both know damn well what you “remember” about Eurotrip.

    And it wasn’t Vinnie Jones.

Wasn’t “Scotty doesn’t know” either. Though, that was hilarious.

    Ha!

  35. leigh says:

Romney’s not my dream candidate, either, Lamont. I do think the Wonce just punted all the fence-sitters for Santorum right into Romney’s court.

I’ll bet Obama keeps the Greek columns at the house so he can see them when he’s shaving.

I just noticed that the guy from Green Street Hooligans is the protagonist from Sons of Anarchy.

  37. Squid says:

Watch for outrageous public displays of affection from the Out!raged! Gheys, though.

Will there be parade floats? Giant papier-mache heads? If it doesn’t rival Mardi Gras, I have no time for it.

  38. Lamontyoubigdummy says:

I just noticed that the guy from Green Street Hooligans is the protagonist from Sons of Anarchy.

Yup. But now a proper American hooligan.

    With a Harley.

I remember when the word “protagonist” made me think of Edmond Dantes, Agustus McCrae (whatevs, pick your book, pick your character). If you asked me now, I’d say a protagonist is anyone who can manage to punch Bill Ayers in the face and Tweet a pic of him doing it.

  39. Dave J says:

yeh, it should be considered very racist and culturally insensitive to expect to enforce the crown’s laws on its funded minorities at the expense of it’s taxed subjects.

  40. Swen says:

Maybe then, if you play nice, they’ll eat you last.

Nah, they should eat me first. The indigestion will probably kill them and even if it doesn’t it will give the rest of you time to get away. :D

  41. SteveG says:

Those guys should be hung… fuck them and their religion that allows such bullshit
