Like the other liberals say on Eschaton.  (Believe it or not I am not even a fan)

  2. JWebb says:

Feminist blowback? What politically incorrect images that conjures…

  3. jess @ LOSLI says:

    Clarification –

    Not a fan of Eschaton.

    Saucepans?!

After following Sean’s link, I got tempted to write a poem telling Booth not to shoot Lincoln.

There’s, like, fourteen different kinds of sad all bound up in that one sentence, most of them about what a warped mind I have.

  6. Murel Bailey says:

Charlie Brown ought to kick Lucy inna balls.

  7. Scott P says:

You know, maybe Lucy has been just been kind to Charlie Brown all these years.

I mean, look at the legs on the guy.  Those are seriously short legs.  How good of a place kicker do you really think he could be?  Do you think the little guy could even make an extra point?  Isn’t it better for him to just hate her instead of having to come to terms with failure and his gross incompetence?  And isn’t that a lesson to all of us that what we might perceive as cruelty could actually be the actions of someone who cares for us deeply?

    Nah, you’re right.  She’s a bitch.

  8. Scott P says:

    oops, one “been” too many.

  9. erp says:

Stop whining and kick the ball already.

  10. Bill Peschel says:

Charlie Brown never got to kick off, but Schulz did.

  11. Ana says:

    Beck–that’s Calphalon. A fine saucepan.

  12. Gordon says:

Wow! After all these years to learn that I’m not the only one who hated Lucy.

Charlie, unfortunately is still such a loser that I want to kick him and take his dog.

My favorite single comic strip of all time:  a few weeks after Charles Schultz’s death, most comics did a tribute, using his characters in their own strips.  “Tank McNamara” had a strip:

Panel 1:  Lucy pulling the football away, as usual.

Panel 2:  The entire Tank McNamara football team gang-tackling Lucy.

Panel 3:  Charlie Brown saying “Now That’s Funny.”
