“The Hidden Tax in the Payroll ‘Tax Cut’ Extension”

I blame the Hobbits for hating this so much that the GOP leadership, by way of contradistinction, was forced to cut a deal just to show that they aren’t controlled by the filthy ideologues whose purist true believing is naive and dangerous and unhelpful.

These TEA Party types are going to be the death of us!

There’s no point in supporting Republicans. None.

what did Boehnerfag and McConnellwhore get out of this deal exactly

I don’t understand why they’re in leadership positions

    seniority is inevitability’s ugly step-cousin.

Since the only parties with a presence in politics today are either the Republicans or the Democrats, who exactly are we supposed to be supporting? Or are you suggesting full on anarchy a la OWS?

They got the Dems to promise not to beat them up too badly in the media at Christmastime. That’s totally worth it!

Going with the LotR theme on another thread, leigh, I’m beginning to think we’re less Hobbits and more Ents. cf. this line of Treebeard’s, “I am not altogether on anybody’s side, because nobody is altogether on my side, if you understand me: nobody cares for the woods as I care for them, not even Elves nowadays.”

The Repubs are not on our (classical liberals’) side; therefore we’re tending not to be on their side.

I suggest we borrow the GOP, seeing how it’s not being used right now. I would also find a Tea Party candidate to support. That failing, (which it probably will) it’s time to admit that the GOP is no longer a viable option for conservatives and classical liberals because it no longer wishes to be.

  8. leigh says:

I understand, Darth. It’s all about leadership of which we seem to be lacking. Are we all a bunch of cowards? I say “no”. The pioneers take the arrows.

We need an unifying theme and a charismatic leader. I tend to piss people off, so I’ll take the minutes.

These Congressional (R) idiots are so incompetent, I am beginning to think they aren’t true conservatives.
