I’m not ready to buy a new television set, so, no, I just can’t bring myself to watch another Obama Perpetual Campaign Speech … especially with Barry talking about “fairness” and Michelle having Warren Buffet’s secretary sitting next to her.
I wonder if he’ll mention that he signed a law known as the National Defense Authorization Act?
this year the NDAA bill has passed with new provisions that should have the entire country up with pitchforks.
Normally, this is just an act which details the monetary calls of the Department of Defense which is passed every year. However, the act passed for the 2012 fiscal year changes the bill and can be seen as an extension of the Patriot Act. Now, the indefinite detention has been extended to U.S. citizens as well. If people are spied on and suspected of being terrorists, they may be detained indefinitely without trial.
Followed up by declaring his critics “terrorists”.
Senator Rand Paul of Kentucky has stated that there are laws regarding terrorist suspects in America in place by the Department of Justice. Issues such as having an armed weapon or having a food supply lasting at least seven days can be grounds for terrorism.
One can be sure that the phony, “Date Night”, practice of opposing members sitting together to demonstrate “bi-partisanship” will end once the Democrats no longer control the White House…
All of his platitudes about the 50’s economy, and indeed all of the leftys that whine about the inequality, conveniently leave out that essesntially the rest of the worlds manufacturing ability had been destroyed.
It’s no wonder the US smokestack industries prospered for 35 years after the end of WWII.
A quick school of lies analysis
The excerpt
1.Think about the America within our reach: 2.A country that leads the world in educating its people. 3.An America that attracts a new generation of high-tech manufacturing and high-paying jobs. 4.A future where we’re in control of our own energy, and 5.our security and 6. prosperity aren’t so tied to unstable parts of the world. An economy built to last, where 7. hard work pays off, and 8. responsibility is rewarded. “
1. A transformed America is within his grasp.
2. The Left controls the educational system and they have produced a generation of uneducated, unemployable clients.
3. The Environmental regulations prevent that as Jobs told him before he died.
4. Obama just passed on a new huge source of energy.
5. He’s abandoned Iraq and abandoning Afghanistan and the only reason Petraeus has not resigned is because he won’t leave his troops behind.
6. We are completely exposed to the upcoming Eurozone default
7. Except for the 1%, who really need to just give it up for the people.
8. Extend unemployment, forgive mortgages.
I hope he doens’t hurt his elbow patting himself on the back about the free trade agreements with Colombia, Panama, and Korea…That he and his fellow Democrats made sure were blocked when the Boooooooooooosh! administration originally negotiated them and sent them to congress for ratification.
And if the NEA, AFT, and the Dept of Ed would either get out of the way, or concentrate on actual education instead of a pomo ideology indoctrination we might have students that can actually, you know, think.
What?!? Dodd-Frank is responsible for shutting off the venture capital spigot in this country. What does he want, the government to provide all venture capital, just like student loans?
Our experience in solar panels shows our venture socialism is terrible, but I will not walk away from teh American worker. I claim the wind and the sun!
That’s why I’m sending this Congress a plan that gives every responsible homeowner the chance to save about $3,000 a year on their mortgage, by refinancing at historically low interest rates. No more red tape. No more runaround from the banks. A small fee on the largest financial institutions will ensure that it won’t add to the deficit, and will give banks that were rescued by taxpayers a chance to repay a deficit of trust.
Yep MV,
Here he is offering those who overbought the haircut they want; on the rest of our backs.]
But, you know, he’ll act like it’s the banks who made the Faustian TARP bargain foot the bill. But we all know that the cost will be passed on to the rest of us.
“A small fee on the largest financial institutions will ensure that it won’t add to the deficit, and will give banks that were rescued by taxpayers a chance to repay a deficit of trust.”
give my bankster buds $3500 in fee charges. good allan this man knows jack and shit.
*groan*
Now the class warfare begins in earnest. And what a laugher; Obama has no intention of paying down the debt, he’s only interested in increasing it…
And Dear Leader, feel free to pay as much as you think is fair to the treasury.
After all of the statist BS he wishcasted, he has the nerve to quote Lincoln; “Governemnt should only do what people cannot do for themselves, and no more”.
That’s why I’ve asked this Congress to grant me the authority to consolidate the federal bureaucracy so that our Government is leaner, quicker, and more responsive to the needs of the American people.
And whose will determines those needs? Not the people, who can rest assured they will be ignored when they raise protest against grotesque propositions such as ObamaCare. But Barry, tyrant Barry, has the will, and has the knowledge what the American people need. Only listen. Then obey.
Now, you can call this class warfare all you want. But asking a billionaire to pay at least as much as his secretary in taxes?
That is the kind of lie that he really should be called and never will. It is in the written text so it is exactly what he planned to say. of cours it is blatantly false, Buffet paid tens of millions in taxes and is avoiding hundreds of millions more. They might claim “we meant percentage” but is that credible? It is in the written speech. He wanted to say But asking a billionaire to pay at least as much as his secretary in taxes? and he did, knowing it is a lie.
And is class warfare.
Is that some kind of patriarchal math you are using there bh? What is this capital gains you speak of? No we don’t want to raise that. We just want the people who pay at that rate to pay at this rate: as much as we need.
He also talked about people making over $1M paying 30% in taxes, then immediately said if you make less than $250K your taxes will not go up. Wonder just how much he plans to squeeze those in between…
yep…kinda like when Obama said “businesses that stay in America pay some of the highest taxes in the world” then immediately transitions into talking about making American companies with operations overseas PAY MORE (not a thing about lessening domestic business rates)
The problem is Leigh, he’s planning on getting in our wallet’s like a tapeworm in our gullets. He and his fellow travelers won’t be happy until the top rates are back to what they were when Jack Kennedy was POTUS.
And as far as property? Well I’ve heard some of the left propagandist MBM foot-soldiers explicity say that we shouldn’t be able to pass personal wealth onto our descendants. The quote was something like, “Your children shouldn’t be wealthy just because you did well in life”.
And they said it with earnest intent and a straight face. My head nearly exploded.
Mr. Reed, because they’ve earned the right to spend the money you make, not you. The death eaters always want to phrase the issue in the terms of the receipients who don’t deserve it rather than the right of the person who did earn it to spend it as he or she chooses. Apparently, it would be fairer if everyone blew their savings right before they die.
Ok, I admit, I haven’t watched a lot of his speaking before, but it was like he was shot full of Novocaine at about the neck level … not a muscle in his face moved, even his lips …
bh, only marginal rates for earned income. Capital gains aren’t. And we don’t even want to start on passive gains or losses, or just what constitutes income.
What exactly do you think would happen to Warren Buffett if he was handed a tax bill for $30B and had to liquidate his assets to pay it?
Mr. Karl noticed how Mitchfag took a swipe at Gingrich…
I personally would add to that list admiration for the strong family commitment that he and the First Lady have displayed to a nation sorely needing such examples.
Excellent observation Charles. Intersting how they always focus on “the unworthy”, when, as you say, it’s the right of the one who earned to do with it as they see fit.
I thought you were in Daniels’ corner; at least last summer…I thought he gave a pretty good address, all things considered, in terms of content.
Addressing a joint session of congress is a hard act to follow, especially in a solitary office, for someone who’s delivery leaves something to be desired.
When did you sour on the man? When he dropped out of the race?
I saw over on Cato that Chris Matthews loved Mitch Daniels’ response. Take it for what it’s worth. No word on whether Mr. Matthews experienced any tingling in his extremities.
I personally would add to that list admiration for the strong family commitment that he and the First Lady have displayed to a nation sorely needing such examples.
Fuck you. Your whore wife left you to bang doctor cock and then when he kicked her whore ass to the curb she decided she wanted another taste of Big Pharma.
Strong family commitment bullshit you gave your daughters a whore for a mother.
“I personally would add to that list admiration for the strong family commitment that he and the First Lady have displayed to a nation sorely needing such examples.”
Come on, I think this is totally a racist jibe at the negro community, and has nothing to do with Gingrich.
Maybe it’s not so much a swipe at Newt as it is a desire to say something nice about O! before he got down to business rippin’ him. You know, out a sense of gentlemanly comity, collegiality, and in the spirit of “the loyal opposition”.
Too much benefit of the doubt? Well I’ve been wrong before.
ruling class? establishment class? how about greedy bloody sucker class? calling herr dr. buffet! these peeps sux, you go baracky in epa language: feed the pig!!11!!energy suckers
Okay, I’m back like a bad rash but I just figured something out. Wasn’t sure why you mentioned what you did at #179 at first, Charles. But, yeah, I was loose with my comment. You’re above 30% after $175K of earned income. Correct. I wasn’t explicit there.
My thrust is that to get this aggregate, AMTesque new millionaires tax will almost certainly require negating charitable deductions and increasing the amount paid on cap gains. Otherwise, you’re already above it.
There aren’t many good things that happen when you reduce the incentives to give to charity or invest. Way to stick it to the rich (and the poor and people who work for companies), Obama!
“Or maybe Logo,” Pablo said drily, allowing the barest hint of a moue of distaste to play across his scotch-moist lips. “That happyfeet is certainly a saucy rascal,” thought the earnest commenter, earnestly.
Geitner did not look good during the mortgage forgiveness talk. The whole place seemed a little unsettled, it was almost as if the Progs weren’t sure if Obama had dropped the last mask and it was time to head to the barricades.
Ok well I’m glad I missed it. I knew I could just come here and get the goods. I switched on the TV and hear Obama say “doesn’t matter if you’re latino, native american, blah blah” — and shut that shit right off.
There aren’t many good things that happen when you reduce the incentives to give to charity or invest.
I want to be a little more explicit than Darleen was in #207.
The purpose is to eliminate “private” charity, this is just one means to that end. Then there is also the purpose of eliminating “private” investment, this too in simply another means of reaching that end. Hell, starting with Clinton they changed government spending to “investments”.
Eliminating the “private” doesn’t eliminate the needs, the wants, the desires that drive the private sector but the vacuum created will be filled by government. All everything to be filled by government.
State slavery rising again. This time it will work, they believe, because there will be no sanctuaries of freedom, this time.

white chocolate IS real chocolate in the sense that it’s a very nuanced sensual experience what doesn’t just happen without a nice bit of craftsmanship attendant
so many times you get white chocolate and it just tastes lemony
ok ok I will do better I promise but I’m not buying tasty See’s white chocolate in any quantity until that fascist and his whore secretary sell the company to real Americans
On the day I took office, our auto industry was on the verge of collapse. Some even said we should let it die. With a million jobs at stake, I refused to let that happen. In exchange for help, we demanded responsibility. We got workers and automakers to settle their differences. We got the industry to retool and restructure. Today, General Motors is back on top as the world’s number one automaker. Chrysler has grown faster in the U.S. than any major car company. Ford is investing billions in U.S. plants and factories. And together, the entire industry added nearly 160,000 jobs.
There is so much wrong with just this paragraph, I don’t know where to start … but by what rights has Obama got in lumping GM and Chrysler with Ford? Ford took absolutely NO money from the Feds.
I was watching in a bar, and I saw the blurb that came up about “everyone needs to do their fare share,” and my response was, “each according to his abilities, each according to his needs.”
“If the idea tonight was that the President would fulfill his constitutional duty to give us ‘information of the State of the Union’, we should be able to expect some truth. I didn’t hear much truth. Truth is that the real unemployment rate is probably still above 10%. Truth is that after all the hand-wringing and deals of the past couple of years, instead of cutting spending, the President and Congress are going back to the well for another $1.2 Trillion debt limit increase. And the truth is we are seeing nothing from either the President or the Republicans that will really change any of those unacceptable realities.
“Only in the twilight zone that is Washington could a President who has bailed out and stimulated our economy to death stand in the Capitol and declare there should be ‘no bailouts, no handouts, and no cop-outs’. Can anyone spell GM or TARP or Solyndra?
“The President said we deserve a government that plays by the same rules as millions of hard-working Americans. Perhaps that should begin with the government not borrowing and printing 43 cents of every dollar it spends – something hard-working Americans can’t and don’t do.
“Until we see a real plan – not a Washington smoke and mirrors plan – that puts a stop to deficit spending and really puts America back to work, all of this rhetoric is just wasted breath.”
At the end of World War II, when another generation of heroes returned home from combat, they built the strongest economy and middle class the world has ever known.
Co-opting an entire generation of good people who would definitely spit on your neo-softspoken-Communist ideology, Baracky; and who would’ve likely sent you careening out of town riding a rail, covered in chicken feathers.
What’s at stake are not Democratic values or Republican values, but American values. We have to reclaim them.
Can’t do that with the crop of Democratic LeftLibProggs and soft-underbellied Republicans we’ve installed as our Representatives in Office. That page you speak of, Baracky, those missing ‘American values’, was ripped out in the ’60’s, with the rise of LBJ’s Great Society. Since, you and yours, the ‘Progressives’, have accelerated our downturn; your SOTU speech gives no hope to those of us *really* looking to restore American values.
This guy’s gonna win another term, and we, the people seeking a return of the ‘real’ ‘American values’, are totally and desperately fucked.
I heard that (be like Detroit! Crumble!) and thought of you laughing Carin, just knew you would be. He can’t hear his own words — the tyrant — hence cannot know how amusing he can be, nor what terrific entertainment he makes.

I can’t afford to buy more TVs so I passed on this one, but I understand it’s much like the previous one. Same shit different day.
Anyway. 10 more months and this will all be over, barring marshal law, of course.
Not just Obama’s campaign, but the GOP squish effort for 2012 has begun.
Mitch Daniels “sets the tone” for contrasting our values with Obama.
Now I understand why, in the same fashion all tolitarian societies must build walls to keep their population in, the nanny State must oppose the practice of assisted suicide.
yeah Rubio is not showing good sense there is no way in hell if his pitiful immigrant parents wanted to come to America today that Romney would say yes
oh but no Romney would say hell to the no you filthy immigrants and tell me what immigrant magnet is pulling you so I can smash it
“Redistribution! It’s what we stand for as a party don’t you know.”
What? You propose the Republican’s wait for the Democrats to reform entitlements? Ha! Gonna take awhile, and even then it’s kinda hard to imagine the Fascists would get it anywhere near right mathematically. But then, on the bright side, putting the strongarm on people is a Democrat specialty, so there’s that.
I’m sure the wrestling practice will be far more interesting…Prescient :)
I’m not ready to buy a new television set, so, no, I just can’t bring myself to watch another Obama Perpetual Campaign Speech … especially with Barry talking about “fairness” and Michelle having Warren Buffet’s secretary sitting next to her.
the state of the unions speech?

You think I kid.
I already have “Lie To Me” on DVD. I feel no need to watch this High School Drama Club version tonight.
Full text, 2011 SOTU, for comparative purposes. Maybe someone will paste up the link to tonight’s speech when the embargo expires.
These vids on David Thompson’s blog are more honest and substantial than the SOTU.
“Issues such as having an armed weapon or having a food supply lasting at least seven days can be grounds for terrorism.”
they hate some gbtv
Here is what is purported to be the template of tonight’s speech.
they hate some gbtv
It sounds like they hate anyone who lives out in the country. And Mormons.
If you all are bored, here’s some interesting reading, if you really want to know what’s going on.

There’s not enough cheap Scotch in all the package stores in three counties to get me through the first four words of #Occupant Obama’s speech.
One can be sure that the phony, “Date Night”, practice of opposing members sitting together to demonstrate “bi-partisanship” will end once the Democrats no longer control the White House…
Awwwww…A big hug for Gabby Giffords…Thank goodness she survived the day of the shooting teabaggerzzz.
What a putz. All of the empty gladhanding and “joe cool” cocktail party talk.
Let the lies begin!
hairplugs is epic tonite
OBL right out of the gate.
hairplugs is doing the blinky tonite. thank allan someone to fill sanfrannan’s shoes
But no victory celebration for the formal end of the Iraq war, eh. Perhaps too…jingoistic for the won.
I would rather bin laden be alive and this job-hating rapist be out of office where he can’t hurt people anymore
And he had to hit the OBL note.
Beatcha to it, Bob.

No mention of CRA in his list of eeeeevolll market forces that brought about the 2008 economic crisis.
With the strangulating Dodd-Frank connivance-called-bill
I think I can quit listening now and wait for Mitch.
I am Barack Le Grand! L’etat c’est moi!
Dude, the auto industry?
It’s easy for GM to turn a profit when we all collectively bailed them out…
Volts for everyone!
Now he’s making the corporatism pitch.
C’mon man, fascism isn’t that bad…

He congratulated Ford. Ford didn’t take any bail out money, bozo.
Well, all his Wall st buddies are going to love his corporate AMT; on all revenues domestic or overseas…
Wonder what Immelt thinks of that?
How fast do you think US companies will suddenly become overseas concerns should this look as if it’s coming to pass…
GM hasn’t even remotely paid back all the welfare Barack shoveled at them
are Koreans really dumb enough to pay money for American shitmobiles?
I hope he doens’t hurt his elbow patting himself on the back about the free trade agreements with Colombia, Panama, and Korea…That he and his fellow Democrats made sure were blocked when the Boooooooooooosh! administration originally negotiated them and sent them to congress for ratification.
When is Jeff Immelt going to bring jobs home because China is too expensive? What did he say when Barack asked him what he can do to bring jobs home?
your cronies in teh NEA are falling behind quote Dear Leader.
So 99 weeks unemployment isn’t good enough, now we’re going to train everyone as well.

When it should be being eliminated…
mr newt said 99 occupoopers could have gotten an associates degree in that time
i luvs some baracky in communist red
And if the NEA, AFT, and the Dept of Ed would either get out of the way, or concentrate on actual education instead of a pomo ideology indoctrination we might have students that can actually, you know, think.
I see the fingerprints of Arnie Duncoan on all this Ed talk.
I quit counting at 20 lies. That was a record for how quickly he arrived at said figure.
And here we go, free college for everyone!11!1!
“we’ll run out of money”

This is the day the illegal tide stopped rising!
I need every vote, illegal or legal, in 2012 to keep the gravy train rolling amigos.
the mexican drug cartel’s customers are on display nationwide.
Now where’s that hoary old 69% number. Deliver the line bitch.
Price and wage controls are the only way to go. But then, the slaves have always known that.
I though a person’s own ambitions provided the incentive to get ahead. Who knew the government could regulate our individual ambitions?
Wonder not: the tyrant too can be Mr. Cool, jes wait and see.
Give me a small business a law to create jobs. Then raise the taxes on all those damn wreckers.
What?!? Dodd-Frank is responsible for shutting off the venture capital spigot in this country. What does he want, the government to provide all venture capital, just like student loans?
Nothing but a campaign speech, and a campaign speech filled with lies and obfuscations at that.
You can’t have this Keystone energy now but look at here where the mermaids live? I’ll dangle that now and someone down the line will kill it for us.
An all of the above strategy on energy!?!
Obama’s the one that’s been blocking oil and gas drilling. For what, so he can throw some Solyndra magnitude cash at a few more of his buds?
And the slaves slobber themselves to applaud lagging oil exploration development.
I’m all for unicorn methane plants, but only green unicorn methane plants.
I can’t believe he has the balls to talk about his administration’s successes in clean energy.
Solyndra anyone?
Solyndra? I thought you said “Ah steve-choo”
There is no limit to his gall.
Our experience in solar panels shows our venture socialism is terrible, but I will not walk away from teh American worker. I claim the wind and the sun!
Bye bye oil exploration.
Wait a minute. Clean energy tax break? Isn’t that “spending in the tax code”?
Climate change. Guess who can’t say no! he Navy! Suck it up boys the slackers gotta slack.
Great…
NASA doesn’t fly to space anymore, and DOD will now be spending it’s shrinking money by underwriting “clean energy initiatives” on public land.
God help me, Navy is leading the way…
In the Depression there was no rural broadband?
And what is this, “send me the bill”, BS. Barack le Grand is ordering the slaves to “make it so”…
Say, where’s your budget for all that Sparky?
1000 days you say.
Here it is, Obama’s paying our mortgages!
Ah, and here we go. Not even a phony peace dividend. Half the money formerly spent in Iraq will be spent “nation building” at home. Got that?
The “baseline” just increased again…
I got an idea for an education program, teach all registered voters fucking economics.
No bailouts. No handouts.

give my bankster buds $3500 in fee charges. good allan this man knows jack and shit.
When was this mystical past Obama is always talking about going back to? Is that where the strawmen live?
Is he claiming that he has reduced regulation, given his history of using regulation where he could not get legislation?!?!?!?!?!
more government investigators!
A blue ribbon panel of TOP! men…
Yeah, just like the debt reduction panel.
Hey, ask that financial fraud unit to take a look at Franklin Raines and Barney Frank.
Pay down our debt. Now where did I leave my budget….
My two month tax deal is back. Do as I command.
WTF is Cantor clapping for, Obama’s telling him to pass his effin’ bill!??!?
We’ve agreed to $2T in cuts and savings.
I will bet $2T that that is a lie.

And Dear Leader, feel free to pay as much as you think is fair to the treasury.
Put your money where your mouth is.
You can call this class warfare. We don’t begrudge success, just want their money.
And the slight of hand makes me sick; “Warren buffet should have to pay as much as his secretary”…
I guarantee, in magnitude, he paid way more dollars than she did; unless that’s the greatest secretary job in the US.
He is really going down deep to deliver some of these lines tonight. Must have really gotten fired up at the Apollo.
Yes Baracky, we’re all thinking the same thing right now; ENOUGH ALREADY! STFU
That group to look into the mortgage mess? Gonna be chaired by Eric Schneiderman.
Think Elliot Spitzer but then picture him ten paces to the left.
justice gingsberg was drolling
Great. He’s proposing restructuring the government. Fuck the Constition!
Easy to call for a up-or-down vote within 90 days on appointments now, but when Boooooooooosh! was in office?
Some of his appontments to the federal bench never even got to the friggin’ Senate floor.
yea but he’s ” smart and articulate and clean” says plugs.
After all of the statist BS he wishcasted, he has the nerve to quote Lincoln; “Governemnt should only do what people cannot do for themselves, and no more”.
Like we can’t read mortgage agreement, for one.
He will take action with or without Congress?
The tyrant is showing his hand.
Taking credit for the arab spring, naturally…
And in Syria, well, we’ll see.
And whose will determines those needs? Not the people, who can rest assured they will be ignored when they raise protest against grotesque propositions such as ObamaCare. But Barry, tyrant Barry, has the will, and has the knowledge what the American people need. Only listen. Then obey.
well he’s got the “dic” part right. eff that ‘tator and the cliven horse he rode in on.
Hillz looked nervous when O! was talking about the Middle East…
She lookin’ kinda nervous when Baracky talks about Iran too.
Now, you can call this class warfare all you want. But asking a billionaire to pay at least as much as his secretary in taxes?

Not I.
I’m gonna come back and clean up all my comments I promise.

Criminy, ridin’ Bin Laden’s assassination like rented horse.
Invoking Seal Team Six. I really hate this guy.
Community organizer to the bitter end. Meet end soon.
Is that some kind of patriarchal math you are using there bh? What is this capital gains you speak of? No we don’t want to raise that. We just want the people who pay at that rate to pay at this rate: as much as we need.
Finally!
Likening our national success to a military mission has another, subtle connotation. One of central control, unquestioned, from the brass.
As long as we do what we’re told, by the schmott guys like him, we’ll succeed…
What a piece of…work
which one is Warren Buffett’s dirty little slut?
The one in the Mandarin jacket.
Anyone who makes more than a million dollars must play a 30% minimum tax?
Such demagoguery…
Is that on all profits, or just income? Does it apply to capital gains? And what about the small businesses that file using the 1040 schedule?
JUST WORDS?!?!?
I’ll have to watch later and see cspan you can’t rewind
Did he submit his budget, as required, yet?
Budget?
CaesarBaracky le Grand don’t need no steenkin’ budget. That’s his wallet man.Don’t mess with his stack,
JackJD.Bob, I keep saying to the husband (former USA, retired pilot) that the AF One pilot needs to take one for the team.
Bob
And what about state income taxes? In CA it’s another 10% … and Obama doesn’t think that million entitles you to any deductions …
and did you notice the sleight of hand as he said 30% for mil/year then went right to only families under $250K should have low taxes.
He also said earn he didn’t mention property.
Well, yes. And the Senate laughed it down, 97-0.
He also talked about people making over $1M paying 30% in taxes, then immediately said if you make less than $250K your taxes will not go up. Wonder just how much he plans to squeeze those in between…
I noticed that slight-of-hand Darleen, and thought the same about the same tax burden myself.
hoo ray mitch mitchey go stupid party. effin mock this a’hole at this point clowns.
charles
yep…kinda like when Obama said “businesses that stay in America pay some of the highest taxes in the world” then immediately transitions into talking about making American companies with operations overseas PAY MORE (not a thing about lessening domestic business rates)
yea tired white guy that’ll fire up krystal and coulter and brooks
Did you notice the crease in his pants though?
mitchy go away loser
The problem is Leigh, he’s planning on getting in our wallet’s like a tapeworm in our gullets. He and his fellow travelers won’t be happy until the top rates are back to what they were when Jack Kennedy was POTUS.
And as far as property? Well I’ve heard some of the left propagandist MBM foot-soldiers explicity say that we shouldn’t be able to pass personal wealth onto our descendants. The quote was something like, “Your children shouldn’t be wealthy just because you did well in life”.
And they said it with earnest intent and a straight face. My head nearly exploded.
Mitch is sucking ass robustly
i’m sticking with dennis miller for the win on this. go stupid partea.
mitch completely wasted this opportunity right when Team R needed a message
what a piece of shit
You’re already above 30% in fed income tax once you’re above $175K.
So, the new AMT dealio would probably work to negate all charitable deductions and increase cap gains about 2x.
It’s about the worst policy prescription I can think of.
I don’t think Daniel’s response is bad at all, myself. His delivery made leave something to be desired, but the content sounds strong.
Mr. Reed, because they’ve earned the right to spend the money you make, not you. The death eaters always want to phrase the issue in the terms of the receipients who don’t deserve it rather than the right of the person who did earn it to spend it as he or she chooses. Apparently, it would be fairer if everyone blew their savings right before they die.
stay away from ann coulter’s vibrator while mitchy speaks.
I hear ya, Bob. Good thing we created those trusts. Those will probabaly be verboten soon, too.
Mitch is saying good stuff, but man oh man is he boring.
I’m not gonna unite with Mitch to “save the safety net.”
His delivery made leave something to be desired
Intersting how they always focus on “the unworthy”, when, as you say, it’s the right of the one who earned to do with it as they see fit.
i luv watching cultural suicide inaction. over to you brian williams…
Oh, I missed that, happy. I must have nodded off.
oh… btw… has anybody fact-checked Barry’s claim that the technology to extract shale oil was only because of public funding?
Smells of Gore’s “I invented the internet”
i missed it too – Mr. Karl is sharp as razor blades in halloween candy
Darleen, I must have said “citation?” twenty times at least with his wild claims.
yo peeps buy guns and gold
Wow happyfeet, you’re surprising me a bit.
“has anybody fact-checked Barry’s claim that the technology to extract shale oil was only because of public funding?”
the propaganda arm of the fcc “will make it ” true?
I like Daniels as governor but he sucks ass in this moment
he didn’t even sound a tiny wee little bit angry
he should stick to the oped format
and what was that creepy mentos eye flash he kept doing
leigh
hubby and I were muttering “bullshit” so much, it’s a wonder we actually heard so much of the campaign speech.
“When did you sour on the man? When he dropped out of the race?”
i “soured” when no one in the stupid partea will mock the baracky. this tool is highly mockable in alinsky fashion. eff this stupid shat.
oh my brian bill and mittens
I personally would add to that list admiration for the strong family commitment that he and the First Lady have displayed to a nation sorely needing such examples.
Fuck you. Your whore wife left you to bang doctor cock and then when he kicked her whore ass to the curb she decided she wanted another taste of Big Pharma.
Strong family commitment bullshit you gave your daughters a whore for a mother.
I’m out.
That whole “self-governance” thing looks less likely than otherwise, what with slavery come so strongly back into vogue.
Mr. bh it was not Mitchfag’s place to take a jibe at Mr. Newt
especially not from the tawdry glass house he lives in with his whorish slut wife
Yeah. I can get this on Lifetime.
I’d think that if you’re gonna support Gingrich or Romney you’d temper your criticisms of any other Republican politician accordingly.
Or at least have the common decency to have your head explode out of extreme cognitive dissonance.
Okay, now I’m out.
Or maybe Logo.
“I personally would add to that list admiration for the strong family commitment that he and the First Lady have displayed to a nation sorely needing such examples.”
Come on, I think this is totally a racist jibe at the negro community, and has nothing to do with Gingrich.
I’d think that if you’re gonna support Gingrich or Romney you’d temper your criticisms of any other Republican politician accordingly.
Mitchy D’s nasty shot at Newt didn’t help Romney one bit I don’t think.
Everyone knows Romney is as fucking sexless as a nun.
oh. racism?
cool!
Mitch Daniels failed to live up to the pikachu’s highapplepieinthesky flights of fancy?
Well knock me over with a feather!
I think it’s too much benefit of the doubt. It just honestly clicks for me as a swipe at Newt.
We’ll see tomorrow i guess.
ruling class? establishment class? how about greedy bloody sucker class? calling herr dr. buffet! these peeps sux, you go baracky in epa language: feed the pig!!11!!energy suckers
Either that, or it’s just a cigar. But then, we all know where White House cigars end up.
yes Mr. Ernst I was sorely disappointed tonight
we’re careening towards a date with destiny, our little country is
and asshats they are legion
I’m starting to think maybe I should take another look at Santorum even. At least he’s not imaginative.
i was gonna watch the C-SPAN thing again to see Warren’s naughty l’il minx but I just don’t have it in me
She’s a chubby middle-aged Nebraska hausfrau in a red mandarin jacket.
You aren’t missing anything.
“He’s certain to get his…
Someday.”
i think I saw the bottom of the jacket after but they didn’t pan up… did she go down to the floor?
There aren’t many good things that happen when you reduce the incentives to give to charity or invest
Not good things for Americans, but for Progressives it nudges people into leaving the running of their lives to Big Government.
woohoo!
Not that I saw.
Everything is proceeding according to my design.
I think it’s going to nudge this crowd to buy more ammo.
Now, witness the suffocating power of this fully tentacled and stifling bureaucracy!
i say swiss cake rolls for all per baracky! and chicken livers in every thought.
the thing is, our gimpy rapist-in-chief could never have made that speech without clearing it with bernanke first
“You’re not gonna bust me, are you?… You got my back?”
Let the record be set and reset, doubled and trebled: 1,000 days? Ha! Let it span a decade.
[…] hat tip Bob Reed […]
so what happens when you find that commie/fascist/totalitarians silently take over your country? vacation in cuba! yea che>
When he was lying bout meeting with all of these business owners &c, I knew he was lying because there have been no photo ops.
Unless he met them on the golf course.
this whole thing was creepy and mein kampfy
Hey, America! Those shackles look damn good on you! How about we sparkle ’em up a little with mandatory High School Graduation?
GE is a business. Berkshire Hathaway is a business. He meets with Immelt and Buffet all the time.
The SEIU is a business too. The kind you never discuss with those outside the family.
Hey Bob,
I work with a former associate of yours.
Does the name “Pellet” strike a chord?
Berkshire Hathaway makes that sub-par over-priced See’s Candies crap
on the other hand they make those tasty DQ jalapeno popper thingers and plus I heart me a jiffy burger with an orange drink whenever I’m down DQ way
hf
See’s beats Godiva’s ass on a daily basis. And the chocolate it uses is the same supplier it used in the 1950’s
run run mitchy save christmas!
NG likes See’s too
but they don’t make a white chocolate – Godiva and Ghirardelli both do
white chocolate is far more of an art than for reals chocolate, which has the benefit of having actual cocoa involved
run run mitchy save christmas!
god bless america all my hope are turn to dust
unions and buffet:

go team baracky
push back that pipe line
White chocolate is not real chocolate — only has cocoa butter in it
and just what are you talking about re: See’s no white???
we need rockerfeller delivery systems now. go 1880.
oh. I will try – I’ve asked in the airport several times
i luvs the smell of corruption near eric holder’s ear. go team baracky!!11!!
white chocolate IS real chocolate in the sense that it’s a very nuanced sensual experience what doesn’t just happen without a nice bit of craftsmanship attendant
so many times you get white chocolate and it just tastes lemony
what good is that?
geez, hf, at the airport that’s a KIOSK not a store!!
the keylime truffle is to die for …
so many times you get white chocolate and it just tastes lemony
because some cheap-ass companies don’t use cocoa butter or very little of it, and use shortening and just call it “white chocolate”
7181 words of which 1% (72) are “I”, “I’m”, “I’ll”.
Next most frequent is “jobs”, 32 times, 33 if you count Steve Jobs as one.
ok ok I will do better I promise but I’m not buying tasty See’s white chocolate in any quantity until that fascist and his whore secretary sell the company to real Americans
geoffb
Word missing from speech? “Stimulus”
heh
There is so much wrong with just this paragraph, I don’t know where to start … but by what rights has Obama got in lumping GM and Chrysler with Ford? Ford took absolutely NO money from the Feds.
James Pethokoukis on the Obama mortgage refi plan.
I was watching in a bar, and I saw the blurb that came up about “everyone needs to do their fare share,” and my response was, “each according to his abilities, each according to his needs.”
Commie, pure and simple.
Michelle gave that away for years ago cranky,
to anyone willing to listen and let themselves hear.

Herman Cain, tea party response to SOTU
Is it over yet?
Co-opting an entire generation of good people who would definitely spit on your neo-softspoken-Communist ideology, Baracky; and who would’ve likely sent you careening out of town riding a rail, covered in chicken feathers.
When he said “don’t we all want to be like Detroit” – my husband and I laughed ourselves silly.
Then we turned it off.
I heard that (be like Detroit! Crumble!) and thought of you laughing Carin, just knew you would be. He can’t hear his own words — the tyrant — hence cannot know how amusing he can be, nor what terrific entertainment he makes.
We are so fucked.
you can’t make fun of Detroit!
raaaaacists!
#131
I can’t afford to buy more TVs so I passed on this one, but I understand it’s much like the previous one. Same shit different day.
Anyway. 10 more months and this will all be over, barring marshal law, of course.
What about Democrat or Republican virtues vis-à-vis American virtues? Are they at stake?
I was disappointed he didn’t do a big finish by singing us some Al Green.
I heard an excerpt this morning on NPR to the effect that “companies fail” in reference to Solyndra.
Our government has, in its “encouragement” of green technologies, demonstrated an uncanny knack for spotting fail about to happen.
If only they could use that to determine which companies not to “encourage”.
Solyndra would have failed a lot sooner withou all that sweet sweet taxpayer cash. But hey, judge them by their good intentions right?
Come to think of it, I could use a little encouragement.
Your good enough, smart enough, and gosh darnit,
people like you Slart!
Now get your filthy paws out of the government kitty you damn dirty APE!
Figured when I woke up and read a little that ampaign speech of lies and divisiveness might seem less bad. Wrong.
What a douchenozzle.
Plus ça change.
Rubio lurvs hims some Wall Street Romney huh
oxymoron
Not just Obama’s campaign, but the GOP squish effort for 2012 has begun.
Mitch Daniels “sets the tone” for contrasting our values with Obama.
Now I understand why, in the same fashion all tolitarian societies must build walls to keep their population in, the nanny State must oppose the practice of assisted suicide.
we have to unite with mitch to ave the safety net Ernst plus bitchy mitchy says family commitment is super-double-d-duper
hmm. *save* the safety net I mean
What the hell are you babbling about now?
plus did you see where bitchy mitchy said we have to means-test social security and medicare?
Redistribution! It’s what we stand for as a party don’t you know.
Would a babbled explication serve? If not, why are you bothering to ask?
Rubio says Romney is nifty.
I cross Rubio off my list of future hopefuls.
he just does says stuff like that cause he’s a curmudgeon Mr. Slart
it’s a thing
yeah Rubio is not showing good sense there is no way in hell if his pitiful immigrant parents wanted to come to America today that Romney would say yes
oh but no Romney would say hell to the no you filthy immigrants and tell me what immigrant magnet is pulling you so I can smash it
we don’t want your kind here
“Redistribution!
We Romney did say they could voluntarily go back to Cuba and get in line.
He has a plan. A stupid plan, but a plan.
In fact he’s full of plans, just like Obama.
we have to unite to save the safety net with renewed redistributions Mr. sdferr
otherwise we might have to cut benefits, and that’s un-American and un-Islamic
sdferr, I was wondering last night if there was a way to lock all the doors in the building and set it afire.
It would be like 1812, without dishy Dolly Madison. Then we could start over anew, with a shovel ready project IYKWIM.
excuse me while I self-deport
brb
Wouldn’t a fire melt all the white chocolate?
he just does says stuff like that cause he’s a curmudgeon Mr. Slart
And a misanthrope too!
fondu!
That’s a chance I’m willing to take Abe.
Jeff, et al., I was not brave enough to watch the State Of The Utopia last night. Did he say anything about “fairness”?
