   It looks like Obama’s exciting the fringe while discouraging everyone else on his side, and since this strategy is almost designed to lose independents, it’s difficult to see how Obama expects to win another term.

    this healthcare scheme fiasco is a big reason I’m uneasy about the salableness of Mr. Cain’s 999 thing

    i just want someone to stop the spending – i don’t want a schemer with a scheme

    we have a schemey fucking schemer already – I think people except for union whores are sick of schemey schemes

    just stop the spending Mr. Herman – I like your 999 thing but honestly I don’t even care about reforming taxes until the spending is checked

    also I’ve tried talking to people about the last 9 part and … they’re not really super-thrilled… why do you want to get all bogged down yimmer-yammering about a sales tax that Congress is a lot highly unlikely to ever pass?

    Being “for” and “against” is the Alinsky trick — argue both sides of the issue. Intentionally, remain unfocused, and a difficult target!

    Kerry tried it with his “voted for, before I voted against” shtick — he just wasn’t as good as “lead from behind” Obama.
