WMDs, revisited

From FOXNews:  “Report: Saddam Had No WMD, But Was Importing Materials”

Fallen Iraqi President Saddam Hussein did not have stockpiles of weapons of mass destruction, but left signs that he had idle programs he someday hoped to revive, the top U.S. weapons inspector in Iraq concludes in a draft report due out soon.

According to people familiar with the 1,500-page report, the head of the Iraq Survey Group, Charles Duelfer, will find that Saddam was importing banned materials, working on unmanned aerial vehicles in violation of U.N. agreements and maintaining a dual-use industrial sector that could produce weapons.

Duelfer also says Iraq only had small research and development programs for chemical and biological weapons.

As Duelfer puts the finishing touches on his report, he concludes Saddam had intentions of restarting weapons programs at some point, after suspicion and inspections from the international community waned [my emphasis].

Of course, Bush’s preemption policy tossed a wrench into Hussein’s weapons plans, much to the dismay of Kofi, the French, and their internationalist US surrogate, John Kerry (who, incidentally, is spending his day on the campaign trail questioning Dick Cheney’s Halliburton interests.  Not unlike Michael Moore, come to think of it—though Moore is doing so privately, bibbed and stooping over a baby pool filled with linguini and white clam sauce).

Fact:  waiting until the threat is “imminent” is waiting too long.  Or as fancy lad Kerry himself might put it, “I will do whatever it takes Vietnam to make sure I might do Vietnam whatever it takes.  Bush lied. Now, who wants a fudge pop?”

There’s got to be something in the FEC code that prevents a candidate from bribing would-be voters with fudge pops.  The level Kerry will sink to is appalling.

Fact: President Bush told the world that there WERE weapons of mass destruction in Iraq.

None have been found, and the spin is, well… as you say it.

Fact:  Vice President Cheney tells us that we WILL be attacked if we elect Senator Kerry.

We are being attacked… to the tune of over 1000 dead since mission accomplished, only we don’t need to elect someone else for that to be true.

Opinion:  Protein Wisdom is to political discourse, satire and social commentary what Michael Jackson is to parenthood.

Oh goody. Let’s trot those tired chestnuts out again.  Here, I’ll even help”

“Bush lied!  Saddam Hussein could have been contained!  Inspections were working.  Cheney says if you elect Kerry we’ll die!”

There. No go away before you sprain something trying to lift one of the heavy objects I keep around here.

Fact: The UN is upset because WMD related equipment was destroyed. How can this be if there weren’t any?

Fact: Kerry said that voting for Bush was a vote in support of removing the assault weapon ban, which would lead to more terrorism attacks on the US.

Fact: Cheney DID NOT say that we WILL be attacked if we elect Senator Kerry. Read the text.

I’d gladly have a fudge pop if it was offered by one of those Alternatees pinko t-shirt models over there on the left.
