Visigoth wishcasting [guest post by motionview]

Sep 8, 2012. House chamber.
B. Obama: “…and God Bless the United States of America”.
Audience: thunderous applause.
J. Boehner: (pounding gavel) Order in the chamber! Order in the chamber! Thank you Mr. President for an inspiring bi-partisan speech. In that same spirit of cooperation, we invite or to stay and listen to our jobs program. The chair recognizes Senator Rubio. Mr. President please come up here and take my seat while Senator Rubio comes up, I’ll take his. You can put that teleprompter away boys. Mr. President, won’t you stay and listen to us now? Show us that courtesy? In the bi-partisan can-do spirit you’ve just spent the last 20 minutes extolling? Can’t you give us 10 minutes to work together with us, let us bipartisanly cooperate with you, tell you about our ideas to finally get America back to work? (Obama sits, shell-shocked; or walks out)
M. Rubio: 7 minute cock-slapping: how progressivism caused the recession, how Cut Cap and Balance was the best compromise for America and still is, and a short, succinct positive TEA party vision of America’s future, if we grow up and run our finances like adults.
B. Obama:
America: thunderous applause.

I can never remember if cock-slapping is supposed to be good or not.

    But, yeah, thunderous applause.

motionview, this post is disrespectful, entirely unhelpful, and probably raaaaacist.

    I loved it.

Good post. I love how he keeps claiming he’s going to make a “bi-partisan” speech. I do not think that word means what he thinks it means. Now, if he said he was going to give a bi-racial speech…

Also, I don’t think you want to bring up “cockslapping” when Barney Frank is in the building.

    I denounce myself.

  4. motionview says:

    Entirely subjective Vlad.

  5. sdferr says:

Pop quiz: Why is Rubio exactly the right choice (and he is most assuredly)?

  6. cranky-d says:

I think Rubio fits (or has a story very similar to) the narrative assumed by Obama, except he’s the real deal. He also is very good at speaking without a prompter. Finally, he is young and attractive.

Beyond the optics, he knows his stuff, and can deliver and defend it.
