"Labor Dept. Confirms: It Will Ensure Illegal Aliens Get Paid Legal Wages in U.S. Jobs"

This seems outrageous and silly — and of course it is: this Administration’s Labor Department is essentially saying that it has the right to pick and choose which US laws are to be followed and which are to be ignored, a move that essentially brackets the legislature entirely and renders, in effect, the entirety of our governmental system not only moot, but obsolete.

At the same time, however, what’s happening here — and I suspect it is an unintended consequence of this rather transparent authoritarian move to pander to Hispanic “leadership” groups in the run-up to 2012 election — is that such an enforcement of “legal wages” will mean that US employers no longer have any cause to hire cheap labor, a move that will surely hurt them (and will in some cases lead to bankruptcy, and the eventual nationalization of the farming industry, which will never look nationalized, because crony-capitalism / liberal fascism will be the disguise); but at the same time might discourage illegals from crossing the border to take low-paying jobs that, now, American workers will surely be willing to take.

Given that it will pay a “legal” wage, and they themselves are “legal” citizens.

Or, to put it another way: ObamaCo’s move here to destroy certain industries that are so heavily regulated and taxed that they can only really survive on cheap imported illegal labor — while it will be successful in destroying those industries, handing control of, say, US farming over to Soros concerns, who have been investing in just such a takeover — will have the simultaneous effect of disincentivizing the importation of new illegal Democrat voters.

As to the rest — the nationalization and takeover by the socialists and liberal fascists? I’m less concerned. Because as I noted earlier, they can only hold power if we believe they are entitled to it. Once we realize they aren’t, the American people will seize it back — though I fear that prospect won’t be so as peaceful as we all hope it should be.

Americans are armed. And I honestly don’t think our military can be bought.

Flaws in the longterm plan. Oops!

Naturally, we’re going to see some inevitable beefing-up of the enforcement arm of the DoL, so that they can effectively end the practice of the importation of illegals for the purpose of reducing labor costs. Which could have been done if the INS was doing its job.

So, same-same, except for the possibility that Labor will now be heavily enforcing OTHER labor-related laws.

Or, you know, some requirement that everyone acquire health insurance.

  2. It Will Ensure Illegal Aliens Get Paid Legal Wages in U.S. Jobs

As far as they know they already are. Isn’t that the point of hiring illegals?

Is the federal government even loyal to the people of the United States anymore?

Speaking of armed Americans, what’s a good shotgun solution for home defense? I’ve heard the Remington 870 with the supermagnum option is a good choice, but any advice will be considered.

I do believe you are correct. At least this Soldier (and RTO, et al) isn’t for sale.

No, the military in this country is not for sale. It’s not even for rent. Not even for “ready money”.

The first President to issue a glaringly unlawful order (say, “round up (whoever) and herd them into re-education camps’) is in for a mighty big shock.

This is going to be interesting. Will the legal wage and the illegal status cancel each other out in a violent ka-boom like when matter and anti-matter come together? Could we use that as the basis for a warp drive?

  8. Mikey NTH says:

Of course, if you know have to pay illegals what you pay legals, there goes all of the incentive for hiring illegals. Bummer that. They need to think this through a little more.

Maybe they could mandate quotas, that a business has to hire X% of illegals?
    That could work.

The military, like the police we imagine, can’t be bought.

They might become convinced however, like the police, that the military version of SWAT raiding Gibson Guitar Co, no-knock warrants, and criminal prosecution of people video taping police activity is right and proper.

In other words, I’m skeptical. Specially during the coming violent civil unrest.

Yeah, Lee, that’s one reason I expect a fairly bloody meltdown. Let’s face it, O! has already pulled quite a few things that should have led to some orders being refused by a number of armed Federal agencies.
