Lies of Aug 17 [guest post by motionview]

Lies of Aug 17, Wyffels Hybrids Production Facility, Atkinson, Illinois. Lies told, exposed and repeated anyway are omitted.

You know, this downgrade that happened, they didn’t downgrade us because America couldn’t pay its bills. They downgraded it because they felt that our political system couldn’t seem to make good decisions in order to deal with our budget the same way families deal with their budgets.

This is a lie. They downgraded us because of this. That is the your work, Mr. Obama, along with Pelosi, Reid, Frank, Waxman, Wrangel, and the rest of Insane Clown Posse.

The Bowles-Simpson committee, this is a committee that I set up to look at our current fiscal situation to see what could be done. And it was a bipartisan committee; it was chaired by a well-known Republican, Alan Simpson, former senator, and Erskine Bowles, who used to be the chief of staff for Bill Clinton. And it had equal numbers of Democrats and Republicans, as well as business sector and private sector leaders

This is a lie. President Obama explicitly rejected the recommendations of the Simpsons Bowel Committee when he did not include any of the recommendations in his budget, subsequently rejected 97-0.

And basically what they recommended was what I’ve been talking about, which is a balanced approach in which we’re making some modifications to what’s called discretionary spending — that’s the spending we do every year on everything from farm programs to student loan programs to food stamps to you name it — that we cut defense spending in a sensible way, that we look at how we can make modifications that strengthen Social Security and Medicare for the next generation, and how we raise additional revenue so that we bring the overall budget into a sustainable place.
And the truth of the matter is, is that the commission recommendations are ones that not only I, but the so-called Gang of Six, these senators in the United States Senate, agreed to as well. And that was bipartisan; you had Democrats and Republicans.

This is a lie. President Obama has not accepted the recommendations of the Simpsons Bowels Committee. Unless now he is willing to propose

  • 15 cent per gallon gasoline tax
  • eliminating the home mortgage interest deduction
  • eliminating the deduction for employer-provided healthcare benefits
  • reduction in entitlements, including farm subsidies, civilian and military federal pensions and student loan subsidies.
  • modifications to the Social Security program to raise the payroll tax and the retirement age.

You proposing any of these things Mr. President? How about lowering the Corporate tax rate by 25%?You up for that too?

I was concerned when I saw the Republican presidential candidates — somebody asked them, well, if you got $10 of spending cuts for every $1 in additional revenue, would you be willing to accept it, and all of them said no.

This is Chris Wallace’s lie (his father must be very proud). There was never an offer of $3 in cuts for $1 in new taxes. Ever. Wallace upped that fantasy to 10 to 1, but it is still a fantasy. Unless the Pesident wants to propose those cuts now? Hmmmmmm? Can we see the plan for those cuts Mr. President?

So the bottom line is this: I will be presenting, as I’ve already presented — I did back earlier this year — a plan that says we’re going to have spending cuts and we’re going to have revenue.

This is a lie. As he has aready presented? What plan, his budget? What is he talking about here? Any curiosity MBM?

We’ll have more spending cuts than we have revenue, but we’re going to have to take a balanced approach and everything is going to be on the table, including our long-term obligations, because the thing that is driving the deficit, if you look at — we had a balanced budget back in 2000. Here’s what happened. Number one is we decided that we would cut taxes without paying for it.

This is a lie, see this again. Is this misery tour over yet? He’s killing me.

isn’t Chris Wallace one of them Fox News whores? Maybe Fox News whores can take a back seat this cycle.

  2. sdferr says:

Good work motionview, with only a minor critical proviso if I may? Where you say “Is this misery tour over yet? He’s killing me.” I want it to go on an on, because just between you and me, it’s not you he’s killing . . . it’s himself nailing shut his own political coffin.

  3. newrouter says:

so let’s cut the spending by 10% now and we talk new tax code later. chop chip

  4. newrouter says:

oh and the baseline is in the “clinton golden years” 1997!!11!!

  5. geoffb says:

Agreed sdferr. More off the cuff, off the prompter Obama, with a cherry on top, please.

  6. happyfeet says:

he goes on vacation tomorrow … bumblefuck is one of those people what goes on vacation to the same place over and over and over again which that would be nice I guess… maybe. Since I don’t have as much vacation time as he does I really try to make an effort to go to new places when I can take time off from work.

  7. sdferr says:

It is kinda strange he gets paid for fucking up the country iddn’t it? It’s just not right.

  8. happyfeet says:

    fucking sweet pension too

  9. sdferr says:

I mean, who would turn over their most precious relations to a person such as Obama, like their children say, and stand back to watch him drown them in a pool, then pay the guy his going hourly rate?

  10. geoffb says:

    More Obama.

Take, for example, the issue of the three free-trade treaties pending between the U.S., South Korea, Colombia and Panama. Of the South Korean deal, Obama said “we’ve put together a package that is going to allow us to start selling some Chevys and some Fords to Korea so that — we don’t mind having Hyundais and Kias here, but we want some ‘Made in America’ stuff in other countries. That’s something that Congress could do right now.” No, Mr. President, Congress can’t do that “right now” because, before those free trade treaties can be ratified by the Senate, you first have to submit them to the Senate. Obama knows this, so he’s blatantly misrepresenting the facts.

  11. happyfeet says:

aren’t these free trade thingies conjoined to legislation that slops the already over-slopped piggy piggy union whores?

  12. geoffb says:

I spent much of my life vacationing in the same place every year. A reasonably isolated place with many lakes in northeastern Ontario. Peace, quiet and fresh fish were what I wanted, still do but it’s not possible now.

Vacations are about doing what you like. Obama shows himself by his choices. Suck-up and show-off.

  13. happyfeet says:

you went to North Carolina though that was new and fun

  14. geoffb says:

South, ‘feets, South, and Florida this year.

  15. newrouter says:

  16. happyfeet says:

south carolina… I never really been to either very much… south carolina has a for reals tea plantation! It’s the only tea farm in our whole little country, which is very exciting you can take a tour it says

  17. Pablo says:

Anyone else notice that the only part of Baracky’s time on the revenue line of that chart that goes up is projected?

  18. sdferr says:

That would be like the “we saved the American auto industry” sort of Baracky claim then Pablo, to which I always think: yeah, sure, I’m gonna wait and see on that one Barry.

  19. newrouter says:

hardon u. and the ruling class clowns. fatty fat fatheads.

  20. Pablo says:

Brother, can you buy a Volt?

  21. motionview says:

I agree sdferr the more he talks, the more he lies, the more the the mask slips. And anytime you can get him off the prompter, he is very very vulnerable.

EPA to Crack Down on Farm Dust

  24. geoffb says:

    This seems appropriate.

  25. happyfeet says:

    wow that’s a visual

  26. Pablo says:

    re: motionview

“Just to be clear: the EPA considers farm soil a pollutant.”

And milk? Kinda like crude oil.

How stupid are we, exactly? We’re fixing to find out.

  27. Mueller says:

    How stupid are we, exactly?

Shit dude. We’re not even half way there.

  28. Squid says:

And milk? Kinda like crude oil.

Simple equivalence tells us that everyone weeping and wailing over the BP spill last year should just sack up and move on. No use crying over spilled oil!

  29. ‘You know, this downgrade that happened, they didn’t downgrade us because America couldn’t pay its bills. ‘

No, it happened because no one TRUSTS YOU to pay your bills, you jumped up store mannequin…
