Feel that rush of sweet warm air, tinged with the smell of peonies? That’s the Arab Spring — and Barack Husein Obama gave that to the world!*
Of course, the EPA will need to regulate the excesss greenhouse gas emissions. And somebody’s going to have to clean up all the dead Jews. But still! —
OBAMA TO SPEAK!
News that makes you go zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz…
He’s going to send our tax money to the Muslim Brotherhood and other anti-American/anti-Israel factions in the Arab world.
For freedom.
“The protesters accomplished more in six months than the terrorists have accomplished in years.” ??
My god. The maudlin sentimentality.
I appreciate your watching this for us. Has he spiked the football yet?
bh, I’m renaming this the “Harold Carmichael” presidency.
Heh.
I’m not getting the stream, has he gotten to the part yet where he thanks GWB for introducing democracy to the Middle East and reform to Islam?
what’s with all the pursing of lips and pregnant pauses? Does the One thinks that adds gravitus?
“our commitment to Israel is unshakeable BUT….”
like this is unexpected?
Considering what this speech seems to be about instead of “spiking the football”, since his “bump” has gone, he may decide now is the time to apologize for the death of Bin Laden, something that will happen sooner or later.
“Permanent occupation”??? WTF, it is DISPUTED territories, Bamafuck, NOT “occupation”.
“Israel, meet my bus.”
Americans believe in 1967 borders…
really?
So Israel, after being attacked in 1973, has to give up land — and gets nothing in return.
For freedom!
Palestinians must know the boundaries of their state
Oh, they know it. They chant it all the time “From the river to the sea”
what is it about Obamafuck he ignores the goal of so-called Palestinians is a Jew-free (and Christian-free) Middle East.
oh gag, now the Obama Stories (which usually turn out to be less than, er, truthful)
I came to this speech after it started … has Barry mentioned Jerusalem at all?
oh no, he’s not going there, he’s not equating protesting Pals and Arabs are the equivalent of America’s Civil Rights movement????
we must be supportive of people reaching for their rights
What about the rights of Jews to actually remain ALIVE??
Sure. The Sons of Liberty, Rosa Parks and the Muslim Brotherhood. Pretty much birds of a feather.
Such tolerance is particularly important when it comes to religion. In Tahrir Square, we heard Egyptians from all walks of life chant, “Muslims, Christians, we are one.”
I don’t believe Lara Logan reported that chant.
Then a few days later, Coptic Christian churches were burned to the ground.
Right of return?
Have the Palestinians given up on that claim?
Yeah, there’s a whole lot of Egyptians not feeling the unity these days. Which is weird, because they looked so happy.
What Iraq taught us though is that regime change by military force does not work. We’ll prove that as soon as we whack Ghadaffi.
Shorter Obama:
Hey, I won a Nobel Peace Prize. So fuck you.
[…] okay, he made a speech (yada, yada, yada… Obama’s saving the Arab world, or some such.) but when I saw that the President was once […]
As long as BHO is spending Other People’s Money, he’s in redistributionist heaven. Which is much like hog heaven, but with crescent rolls instead of raisin bagels.
Every world map I have the Palestinian borders are clearly delineated and labelled “Syria” and “Jordan”.
Let’s compare:
1) Germany (and the Soviet Union) attacked Poland, and lost the war. As a result, they had to give up all territory east of the Oder and Neisse rivers. To reduce the risk of revanchism, Germans were forcibly relocated from the lost territories to the west side of the O/N line. Before the Soviet Union would agree to withdraw its troops from their occupation zone, they demanded that the German government formally renounce any claims on Silesia, Pomerania, and East Prussia.
2) Jordan (whose claim to the West bank at the time was widely recognized) and other countries attacked Israel, and lost the war. As a result, they gave up all territory west of the Jordan river. Israel did not forcibly relocate any Arab population from the West Bank (or, for that matter, the Gaza Strip or Golan Heights). It seems the entire rest of the world is united in insisting that Israel give back Judea and Samaria, not to Jordan, but to some as-yet-nonexistent “Palestine”.
Why does Poland have this lock on Silesia, Pomerania, and East Prussia, that Germany is not even allowed to talk about; but Israel is considered an “occupier” of Judea and Samaria?
[…] be an apt characterization of President Oblah-blah’s much heralded, but otherwise banal, “Cairo II” speech today; you know, the one where he tells us, “you’re […]
Just re-read “The Hajj” by Leon Uris, and am in the middle of re-reading “Whirlwind” by James Clavell. Both of these books were written well before this contentious era, and both are books that any self respecting liberal will cross the street to avoid reading. They DESTROY the meme.
They both show, without the prejudices of present day politics, the moral bankruptcy of the general Arab world.
The only thing worth mentioning that most Arabs are taught, is hate. It’s too bad my old computer lost it’s “something cow.DLL” and a few more things not worth the trouble to fix, because I have pictures of Palestinian children that would curl your hair. I have pictures of Palestinians hiding behind women and children in a firefight. I have a picture of a Palestinian man joyfully holding aloft the intestines of a murdered “traitor”.
Inhuman beasts, consumed with hate. If they didn’t have the Jews to hate, they would return to hating and killing their own.
What? They are still doing that, too?
I do not say that all Palestinians are animals, but the “animals” seem to be the spearhead of the Palestinian movement.
The Arab countries could empty the “refugee camps” with the snap of their fingers, but it suits them to leave these people in abject poverty and misery for political purposes. And don’t try to feed me any crap about “Israel started it!”
the Arabs have hated the Jews since times not even remembered.
Because they’re Arabs, and Muslims, Monster. They think they own everything they touch, they still think they own the Iberian peninsula.
It IS a clash of civilizations, and we’re still playing by intermural rules…
@30 and egypt
Obama may have just cost his party the Jewish vote. Which, I’m raaaaacist for noticing, let alone saying.
McGehee,
I was just reading “comments” on a CBS story about O’s speech.
It is stunning how many people, including liberal Jews, HATE Israel. The true “Thor” of the modern world. If only the Jews had come from Asgard!
we will find out if “Jehovah” (that’s biblical stuff, ya know?) is for real, and I fear it will be soon. It is actually our own stupidity, blindness, and deafness, which have led us to this precipice.
When the country kicks Obama and his policies in the butt – that is when the real trouble will start. The “twenty percenters” don’t have much in the brain department, but, as we have lately seen, they have balls the size of Krypton, and think they can intimidate the majority into capitulation (See the pussy that gave in to “Mexican-American studies” in Tuscon[?]).
“Don’t bug me too much. I give! I want to go home and have a couple of scotches, and you are preventing me from doing so without turmoil”.
I am totally pro second amendment, but have always been turned off by guns
I bought one recently, and am enrolled in a firearms safety class.
I am very afraid for this nation, but ready to defend the founders. I don’t think Obama could ever get the military on his side – CIC or not.
Obama thinks he’ll win. I say 300,000,000 firearms will not give him a pass.
It’s true a lot of Jewish Americans are hypercritical of Israel, and some extremely radical leftists with Jewish backgrounds do in fact hate it — but I’m not sure the majority even of liberal American Jews want to see Israel wiped from the map.
I think most liberal Jews attack Israel while secretly confident that the U.S. wouldn’t support its destruction. And I think Obama is undermining that confidence.
But as you say, we’ll see.
[…] Among others. My own take was expressed in comments here and here. […]
