The "realities of Washington politics"

= the GOP, elected on a mandate to significantly cut spending, must accept a $31 billion cut to a budget that includes $1.65 trillion in deficit spending, after having run on cutting $100 billion (itself a piffle).

Or, to put it another way, the “realities of Washington politics,” according to Washington establishment politicians, is that fiscal responsibility gets trumped by their own refusal to cut spending in any significant way, if in order to do so shutting down the very entity that can’t cut spending in any significant way is required. That, despite this.

Up is down. Black is white. Romy is Michelle.

Save us, Paul Ryan. Save us, Tea Partiers. Save us, us.

These might be the best they can do — and they’ll probably charge them to the taxpayer.

Chris Wallace was really pushing this at Ryan and Rubio yesterday on Fox News Sunday. The rationale seems to be that if you give up on $28B in less spending(not real cuts, just decreases in the level of programmed increase) the Democrats will agree to $4T less in increased spending (and again, not cuts, just decreases in the level of increased spending).

Where I come from if you give a bully a blowjob to leave you alone he’ll be back to fuck you tomorrow.

Why should they care if the economy implodes? They’ve got theirs.

Can you tell me what neighborhood you live in please? So I can avoid it. Thanks.

Speaking of political realities (not to mention basic common sense,) CHANGE! is changing back to what it was two years ago and KSM’s PR hopes have been dashed:

    …to Gitmo. Military Commisssions, FTW!

I must say that I’m annoyed with being in full agreement with Schumer.

Interesting: this suggests an equivalence between “some amount of lunch money” and a blowjob, as they’re both things bullies can (apparently) choose to extract from their victims.

In which case, I somewhat regret buying all those extra orders of tater-tots. Hadn’t realized other purchasing options were available off the menu.
