A “bullying atmosphere”

Email from bh:

Can’t give that good of a report because I was doing a bunch of grunt work (driving people, getting food for volunteers, etc) and couldn’t hear the speakers over the opposing protesters when I was there. The opposing crowd surrounded us, kept walking through our group to disrupt the rally and/or provoke a confrontation and tried to drown out the speakers. A few people I spoke to and who were there the whole time described it as a bullying atmosphere.

Took a few pictures but I did a terrible job. Only one is any good and has a couple good signs in it.

update: much more here.

That is a million dollar sign right there. Who’s knows a printer?

  2. Obstreperous Infidel says:

Hah…That is a great sign. Good work and good luck, bh. I’m not sure how I would do in that same situation, to be honest. SEIU goons may not look like a horse, but they sure as hell are as dumb as one. I might get into trouble in such a situation.

I like The Hermanator’s idea of Wisconsin being ground zero for taking the country back. What better place to start than the Cradle of Progressivism?

  4. serr8d says:

The New York Times claims that, because of the newfound ‘opposition’ to the protesters, police snipers were in place today.

How much you want to bet they watched the Tea Party group more closely than the ‘good guys’?

Hey, that’s a nice shot and besides it’s hard to take pictures at events unless you can get higher up, like climb a tree. You were doing the stuff that is really important to make things like this work. Good on ya, and my thanks.

    WISCONSIN LEADS
    WAY AS WORKERS
    FIGHT STATE CUTS

A wonderful bit of the headline whore’s art. It has the trumpet call of WISCONSIN LEADS WAY. Then it gives the sign of the down-trodden and wretched of the earth, WORKERS. Humm, “workers?” Would that be the teachers sucking up around $100K a year from the public trough while working, what?, seven months of the year? Well, I guess it would.

And what do these wretched and over-exploited teachers do while “lying” to their schools that they are “sick?” Why they FIGHT, of course.

And who do these sad wretches with only a fat salary, fatter benefits, and obscenely obese pensions fight? Why they fight that big, bad buggaboo, the STATE!

And what is that evil STATE doing? Well, it could be shooting them down like rabid dogs in the streets (see Libya headline right and photo center), but since Wisconsin is more evil and fascist that the dictator of Libya, it is asking them to actually contribute something approaching the rest of America to their health benefits. Those BASTARDS!

Well played, New York Times propaganda masters. So brilliant that I have to question whether or not you could have done it without help. Where else, I wonder, has the phrase “Wisconsin leads the way” and “fighting back” and “workers” arise in today’s news.

Hence I googleth “Wisconsin leads the way” and, lo and behold:

Workers and students across the nation are watching as Wisconsin leads the way in fighting back against these outrageous attacks on workers.

Dare to Struggle! Dare to Win! –SDS supports fight of Wisconsin workers and students | Fight Back!

Fight Back! is a publication powered by the Freedom Road Socialist Organization

Clearly a brief stint at Fight Back! is just a stepping stone to The New York Times.

    Communists Converge on Madison
Every communist and socialist group in the U.S. Midwest is sending cadre to beautiful Madison, Wisconsin, in protest at Governor Walker’s Budget Repair Bill.

Here is a short interview with a Maoist from the Chicago chapter of the Revolutionary Communist Party.

This is an existential battle,” said conservative blogger Andrew Breitbart, as he took the stage before the pro-Walker protesters. “It’s the battle of our times.”

Prediction: the unionists have already offered to take the financial hits if they can keep their collective bargaining hammer; Walker’s already told ’em to go fuck themselves. Tomorrow the Sunday Pundits will crucify Walker; come Monday every pragmatard in the Republican ranks will begin to beg Walker to accept the ‘gracious’ union offer, take the money and back off his ‘extremist’ union-busting. By Wednesday it’ll likely be over. Our chance to dent the Democrat Machine sputters for lack of Team R backbone.

    Jinx, don’t fail me now.

Walker is making the rounds personally tomorrow morning, I believe. From what I’ve seen, The pundits will be doing the Duran, not Walker.

  11. serr8d says:

Oh, newrouter, Mitch Daniels is OK as far as we (the NRA) are concerned. Giuliani and Romney barely squeaked by, but would do in a pinch. Christie is a failure, but he’s promised not to run. A shame he’s not completely with us. Needs more staunchflakes.

Of course, Sarah Palin is the best possible solution to 2012, as far as we are concerned.

Let’s let the ignoramus “workers” understand the difference between them and the “mostly secular” (ha) Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt and else where.

Governor Walker and his band is operating on the budget because … THEY WERE DULY ELECTED BY THE CITIZENS OF WISCONSIN IN A FULLY REPRESENTATIVE DEMOCRATIC ELECTION.

See the difference there, boneheads? Your protests aren’t forming for the majority of voters in your semi-progressive state, noodle brains. You are simply arguing childlike and uncaring for others because, dern it, the legislature will slightly effect your life! YOUR LIFE!!”

In other words, butt wipes, you don’t give a rat’s ass about anyone else in the state who’s not a way over the financial edge union jerk who could care less about some poor bastard who is out of work because his company couldn’t compete with a foreign operation or some such. So while thousands of workers are hanging out at corners while a state bends its way towards bankruptcy …. WHAT ABOUT MY COLLECTIVE BARGAINING AND VIRTUALLY ZERO GIVING TO MY BENEFITS? FASCISTS!!

Besides CESMI (Chief Egotist Self-Marketing Ignoramus)(Sez me!) is standing behind your Self-Marketing position designed to make sure all of your expensive toys paid for by a state deteriorating into ruin is important, after all … FOR YOU! And … him! CESMI understands this because it’s SELF rather than open, functional government. In his twisted, wooden brain it’s good Self-Marketing for him. If it’s also good for you, well, that’s his idea of unpredicted fortune.

My advice? Keep it up until Republicans get frustrated enough to grow a set of cojones and attempt to bury you. I strongly suspect that if Wisconsin does so that support for their practical, blunt, truth needs will enrich others to support them and continue to melt progressive strength, parceled down because of the utter and complete SELFISHNESS of their position which simply doesn’t manage to show a robin’s egg care for others. Not. One. Keep it up, stupid Egotists and there is a chance that the rest of the population will bury you guys and collective bargaining will be gone like the stagecoach.

The good Lord willing and the creek don’t rise.

Apologies for sticking this in here. But we have a guy here in Ohio who has killed a young mother (the daughter of his granny-girlfriend) and now he’s on the run after apparently kidnapping a sweet old couple for their car. (not confident that the elderly couple is still alive). This perp is from Logan County so right away he’ll be painted as a gun-toting hillbilly, and that may be so. But what he really is is a person who wants what he wants, and how he wants it, and when what he wants runs counter to justice, law, and even common sense, he flees.

He is the type of person Nancy Pelosi would praise.

These 14 Dem senators from Wis should have their national shame on display. The problem is, calling a liar a liar, or a coward a coward is uncivil. No more! Obama and his minions support the “flight and/or avoidance” technique in all they do. Better to ask forgiveness? Forgiveness should not compute in the political world.

I’m going to wear a bike helmet to the Ohio Statehouse when I hold up my “Poll: Young boys feel safer while teachers out sick”

Well, his spiral to completely out of control started even before that. There was the Kevin Jennings meltdown, the entire ‘family morality and values’ hate album. Questions were asked, but never satisfactorily answered. It could’ve been Nishi’s influence, the fish smell, I suppose. Caught herself a turtle. Hate it when that happens.
