We’re soon to be treated to an account of Obama using big words he doesn’t understand. It’ll be great. Well, ok, it won’t be great, but it will be biggish. And pitiful. Oh, include frightening too, might as well.
“This needs to be a plan about how we’re going to hand it off and get out of Afghanistan,” Obama is quoted as telling White House aides as he laid out his reasons for adding 30,000 troops in a short-term escalation. “Everything we’re doing has to be focused on how we’re going to get to the point where we can reduce our footprint. It’s in our national security interest. There cannot be any wiggle room.”
You’re thinking Afghanistanization is an example of such a big word for Obama, LMC? I was thinking a little down scale myself, like “national security interest” as three such words, which when compounded (one of the nicer aspects of German, I think: they just go ahead and admit the fact by jamming them together into one ongoing entity, nationalsecurityinterest) Obama gets lost.
We can absorb another terrorist attack, but on the way to your appt. could you fill my Pontiac 6000 LE up with premium. You see, I know what it’s like to go to a gas station and worry about being shot. And I can’t absorb that. No way.
From sdferrs link: “I’ve said to tea partiers, “We should cut Medicare, eliminate agriculture subsidies, kill entire federal agencies,” the enthusiasm usually fades from their eyes.”
I call bullshit. The ones I meet write those things on signs.
You’re right, Team R! Hey, I know, let’s carp endlessly about how those bad candidates are going to ruin our chances, which will help drive voters away from those candidates, and then bring a big bushel of “I told you so” when they lose.
First, that was Stossel quoting himself, not Obama. Second, one source JD, is the fact that the country has got to the place it is. It got there by the predominance of precisely the attitude he describes. The same sort of attitude used to be seen in the polls that showed people were all like “throw the bums out, but I want to keep my rep.” Another source is the stated intention from Obama to pursue exactly this tactical aim as he seeks to defeat the Tea Party’s main thrust. That isn’t to say that Obama fully understands what he’s up against, but that it would be well to consider why he takes that stance.
That’s right! Nobody…and I mean nobody… is going to give some dirty tea party wack job a rub and tug in the shower at the Senate gym if they don’t know where that guy went to school. And that’s just bad for the business of government.
“We have to make sure that the most vulnerable people are always protected,”[The Dr. Mark Lamont] Hill says. Everyone benefits when we pay a little bit more to create universal health care. Everyone benefits when we pay a little more to have better public education systems.”
Progressives use the word “we” too often. When I argued the that “we” and “government” are not the same, he said, “We always talk about the government like it’s this monster in the hills that comes down and hands things out and takes our tax money.”
Well, yes.
Those are “libertarian fairytales,” Hill says. “In real life, the government is us.”
No, “Dr. Hill”, the enemy is not “us”, and you, Sir, are no Jimminy Cricket. [Past NBA player and coach Avery Johnson is.] You, “Dr. Hill” are more of a drooling “Government is God and Taxing and Spending is the Path to Salvation” kind of guy.
In other words, Completely Degenerate and Not Cool, Drooling.
Last night I caught a little of Stossel’s tv show for the first time and immediately came upon D.C. School Com., Michelle[?] Rhee laying waste to a Union-connected Board Member. She was quite potent. But naturally, the Board Member didn’t want to waste time on the question of firing bad teachers and thus losing sight of the big picture solution to improving D.C. education = spending. Just guessing, but looked to me that he might cry before he drooled, or instead.
That isn’t to say that Obama fully understands what he’s up against, but that it would be well to consider why he takes that stance.
Agreed, sdferr, and so far these latte’ Commies appear to be waaay too much dependent upon their even increasingly Elitist/de-realized Fantasyland to adjust – and when now even Cuber has thrown in the towel. I call epistemic closure! They’re heads are damn near anally fossilized.
If this doesn’t get me a HotAir link, nothing will.
heh backatcha
Droolz

Afganistanization
At sdferr’s link.
National destruction is quicker but costs more and he loves it so.
I’m sure your head could absorb the loss of an eye, and come out even stronger. So no worries eh? What’s next?

Hey, that’s bumper sticker material, right there! Finally, I’ll fit in my blue city!
Good luck with the appointment.
Team R Drinks! Team D are Dinks!
Hot Air, here I come!!!
Boy, those Dems sure do suck. Not like *our* guys, amirite?
Stossel reviews the question, finds the Obama’s answer.
libtards are Teh SuxXor !!!!eleventy11!
I think eye doctor appointment is a euphemism for taking the ‘dillo out for a mani-pedi.
“Everything we’re doing has to be focused on how we’re going to get to the point where we can reduce our footprint.
Just keep sticking it in your mouth, Fido.

The only thing I care about when I vote is whether the candidate has an “R” next to his or her name. Nothing else matters.
Go team R! Woot!
sdferr, sure. Means nothing, sounds good, won’t work and will hurt a lot of otherwise innocent people. Like stimulus or reform.
Now I’ve got “Waitress in the sky” as an earworm.
Waitress In The Sky Here, heal yourself.
“I’ve said to tea partiers, “We should cut Medicare, eliminate agriculture subsidies, kill entire federal agencies,”
Source please, Mr Teh One. Sorry, but your assertions don’t count. Plus, you lie.
Besides, those crazy birther racists aren’t worth talking to… and they’re going to ruin our chances!

sdferr – I hope Mr Teh Won tries that.

I misread that, sdferr. My apologies.
“I hope Mr Teh Won tries that.”
I think we can count on it as a lead-pipe cinch.

Their oh so clever aim is to force us back to Hegel’s analysis of the master-slave relationship. It’s actually kinda funny, in its own twisted way.
strike one slobbered “link”
Here it is again JD, in the digital flesh.
