  1. Ernst Schreiber says:

Saw over on instapundit that the WSJ is calling for Fitzpatrick’s head. Maybe he should offer up the jury consultant’s head first.

  2. happyfeet says:

watching dishonorable piece of shit whore Fitzpatrick “pursue justice” for the crimey deeds of dishonorable piece of shit whore Blago is a peculiar American sport I think

  3. bh says:

The holdout juror was Sean Connery?

    You’re da man now, dog!

    Real Alien vs Predator stuff.

  5. Joe says:

I am just surprised she did not hold out on all counts.

I have mixed feelings. Blago is a POS and deserves to rot in jail. But Patrick Fitzgerald is a spoogewad government power stooge and it is good to hear all the jurors say he confused them with the manner he put on his case (not in chronological order). And of course this keeps Blago in the news through the elections in 2010 and possibly until 2012.

  6. motionview says:

Interesting that the jury requested a copy of their juror oath during deliberations, at least one of them knew this woman was protecting Blago.

  7. Freedoms Truth says:

“Chiakulas is a retired director from the Illinois Department of Public Health. She was juror 106, college educated, is active in the Urban League and other politics, and listens to NPR.”

    THAT explains it!

  8. Squid says:

I wouldn’t be too quick about reading malicious intent into the juror’s actions. There’s every possibility that Blago’s goons have something on her, and she’s just doing what she’s told lest some unfortunate accident befall her loved ones.

  9. motionview says:

Squid, I’m not sure about unfortunate accidents, but I’ll bet she has family on some city, county, or state payroll that could have been helped by her “doing the right thing”, as da guys say.

  10. Spiny Norman says:

In Chicago? Only ONE holdout juror? Is that all the Machine could pay off, or did they know that was all they needed…?

  11. Spiny Norman says:

If the jury had to do that, that’s seems to be pretty compelling evidence of juror misconduct. Why didn’t they have her tossed out and an alternate replace her?

  12. Spiny Norman says:

…a second-hand acquaintance said that she has been saying since early july that she would find Blagojevich not guilty.

In any other jurisdiction in the land, that would have gotten her thrown off the jury.

    Good grief.

  13. Joe says:

Then again, Fitzy fucked up too.

Look at it this way, Blago is not going away. He will be the gift that keeps giving.

If we had an independent press we might get an answer to that question.

  15. Joe says:

Who does he think he is, Inspector Sullivan on the case of Trig and the missing Palin uterus.

  16. ak4mc says:

Was Fitzy involved in the Ted Stevens case?

  17. george smiley says:

Now that was another fellow, William Welch, prosecuting National security cases for the Obama administration, I’m not making it up

  18. mojo says:

“Welcome to Chicago, boys” the fat cop purred, putting away his brass knuckles…

  19. mojo says:

    PS: “Pigs…in…SPAAAAAACE!

Proof that you can make anything fly, provided you push it hard enough.

  20. SDN says:

actually, mojo, I heard that first about the F-4: “America proving that a brick can fly with a big enough engine.”

  21. Rusty says:

Community organizing = community organization(Urban League)= Federal Dollars = Illinois politicians.

Of course she found him innocent. In her universe none of those charges are crimes.

I’m just suprised anyone is suprised.

  22. mojo says:

Yeah, the F-4 jocks used to say it’d fly just as well sideways. The last of the designed-by-committee aircraft. After that, they started designing to performance specs.

  23. cranky-d says:

Whatever you might say about the F4, it could survive some serious shit and still get the pilot back home. That’s saying something I think.

  24. SDN says:

As for the Blago holdout juror: Quelle surprise. When you have a system where there is no way to demand accountability, whether by dictate of unelected bureaucrats and judges, rigged elections (ACORN-style vote fraud or NBPP intimidation, no diff), or just a widespread official refusal to enforce the laws equally (see immigration and DOJ Civil Rights Division), then Maguire’s vigilante approach is inevitable.

The only remaining question is what form it takes, the low-level guerrilla warfare of the pre-Revolution or pre-Civil War periods, or the decisive open struggle that eventually broke out. “Sharp surgery brings speediest ease.” as Shakespeare says. I’d say we’ve had the low-level guerrilla warfare from the Left since the 60’s, and now there are enough irritated surgeons to begin.

  25. Merovign says:

There are more dots without lines.

Chiakulas worked for Michelle and her husband worked for Blago, the research now indicates (followed this at AoS and WZ).

    More info is coming out.

Fitz needs to be fired, and Chiakulas needs to be investigated, and, if things are as they appear, she needs to be jailed. Seriously. And maybe jailed until she tells who made sure she was in the pool – this is a Hell of a coincidence.
