Compare and Contrast.  Ok, Compare, then.

The Kerry campaign, in a banner ad running on Salon (since pulled):

Ad copy: “For the 1st time in history a corporation was allowed to invade a nation. No wonder the UN wasn’t involved. It’s time to UNSEAT George W. Bush.”

What? It's dissent. There's nothing more patriotic than dissent. Well, except for maybe, y'know, patriotism...

Usama Bin Laden, in a tape released April 15: “This war earns millions of dollars for big companies, whether those who manufacture weapons or those involved in reconstruction such as Halliburton and its sisters and daughters.”

Conclusion:

What? It's dissent. There's nothing more patriotic than dissent. Well, except for maybe, y'know, patriotism...

And yes, I’m being facetious.

More, and more.

  1. Blimey!  I found another Kerry sign that you might be interested in.

Heh. Now I’ve a got a mental image of Meryl Streep in a pith helmet.

    No one knows why.

  3. Ric Locke says:

Even if the sign were true, they’d still be full of shit. Remember the East India Company?

    Regards,

    Ric

  4. Jeff G says:

What “sign” are you talking about?  Who is the “they” who would be full of shit, assuming the “sign” (whatever it is) were true.

The East India company?  Sure.  But I’m gonna need some context.  Indigo? Rum?  The Dread Pirate Roberts…?

  5. E. Nough says:

UNSEAT?  Is Kerry already appealing to the UN?

  6. Now I’ve a got a mental image of Meryl Streep in a pith helmet.

That’s either an awfully large pith helmet or an unusually tangible mental image.
