Truth(iness) and Consequences?

Behold!

What we see here is confirmation of a simple development: not only have the MSM’s editorial positions destroyed their grip on the national discourse (see the success of the Tea Party movement that’s violently opposed by the MSM), but the trust the American people have in their news reporting is also in the crapper.

Well, maybe. Or it could just be that picking up a Land Cruiser with 0% financing is just too good a deal to pass up.

But we can always hope, I guess.

It’s probably due to a double whammy. I’m thinking a lot of folk decided they didn’t want to support GM (Government Motors).

  2. cranky-d says:

It might be more the fact that the MSM hypes so many things so often that one cannot tell if there really is a wolf there or not.

    Hey! What about me?

Also, I think a lot of people have twigged to the fact that a lot of those ‘foreign’ cars are now built, in part, in the United States. The great American lumpen-proletariat is just not as reliably xenophobic as they used to be.

  6. happyfeet says:

that is very exciting I think… a great narrative anyway… and it has to give the little president man pause about his plan to run against a defective and dangerous Team R congress

  7. J.Peden says:

Given the characteristic Obama, enc., m.o. – some kind of thuggery or lie – I distrusted the extent of the alleged Toyota defects once they started to go viral. Or maybe someone forged his signature?

  8. I hope Toyota is providing unsold copies of the NYT as disposable floor mats.

  9. Moneyrunner says:

Then again, it could be that a lot of people trust Toyota more than the MSM, and figured that the avalanche of bad news would cause Toyota to offer added incentives. They did and people rushed to buy their new Toyota.

If you read the links you’ll see that ObamaMotors (GM) claimed their sales were up were up 43% … BUT a big asterisk goes with that statistic. It only counts “its four brands not being shut down or sold.” So how much were GM sales up actually? 21%! Chrysler, the other division of ObamaMotors actually had a sales decline of 8% despite all the major firms offering 0% loans.

  10. Jeff G. says:

I trust Toyota. And I think most Americans know how good they are. This was a no brainer, really.

This Administration can’t even do fascism right.

  11. Pablo says:

Well, that Prius will get you killed. But I’ll take me a 4Runner.
