Look at all the pretty colors!

See? Isn’t America, like, so much more groovy distilled to its inner rainbow…?

Far out.

  1. JHo says:

But somebody will do something. Just in time.

  2. JHo says:

Because that’s the conservative take on history of these things.

  3. cranky-d says:

Just imagine what that chart is going to look like now that health care providers won’t be able to balance the low medicare payouts with higher prices for insured people.

  4. alppuccino says:

The only rainbow that concerns me is the rainbow that Jimmy “JJ” Clyburn was referring to when he said “this is the Civil Rights Act of the 21st century.”

That one was wide of the plate as far as I’m concerned. I would liken it more to “the Mila 18 of the 21st century.”

  5. Pablo says:

Shorter RD: “Math. Get over it.”

  6. In other news, on this date the British Parliament passed the Stamp Act of 1765.

  7. cranky-d says:

The Declaration of Independence was written by a bunch of guys angry over begin taxed at a 10% rate. It boggles the mind.

  8. B Moe says:

Math is a tool of the oppressor.

    Needs to be a t-shirt, I think.

  9. Joe says:

Math is part of the patriarchy. Use feeling words instead. It is more effective.

  10. RD says:

From one of my many IPs, using one of my many usernames

    I’m a word warrior — but like a ghost I disappear!

    I am NINJA!

  11. Carin says:

No, apparently Jeff doesn’t really care about what you have to offer on this blog.

  12. alppuccino says:

Don’t you have a free rectal exam to get to RD?

  13. dicentra says:

What does “HI” mean, “hospital insurance”?

I hate it when they don’t define their abbreviations.

    Hate. Because I’m a hater.

  14. JHo says:

Pissing off is yet considered polite in some universal healthcare environments, RD.

  15. bh says:

Yes, it’s hospital insurance, hatey hater.

  16. Joe says:

Interesting how this change might change things.

I guess I am not thrilled with Kennedy getting more power and influence leaning liberal (more “that is how they do it in Europe” does not give me a warm fuzzy feeling), but in some cases it might be a good thing.

  17. dicentra says:

    Nice ‘shop over at Michelle’s.

    WRECKONCILIATION

It’s so much more fun when the chusma gets to coin neologisms instead of just the Journalism Caste.

  18. Lamontyoubigdummy says:

This has gone viral, so some may have already seen it. Still deserves a link.

    Greatness.

And since most of us woke up this morning singing the Marines version of “Happy Birthday to You” from HBOs The Pacific, that link is a nice palate cleanser.

  19. cranky-d says:

After what’s happened, is Cthulhu really all that bad for an old god?

  20. RD says:

    I am NINJA!

    You’re such a baby.

Unlike me, who proudly says what I believe. If by I, you accept “one of my many user names and one of my many IP addresses, so that nobody can actually tie anything I say to me.”

    NINJA!

  21. J."Trashman" Peden says:

Increase the GDP, decrease the cost of Energy, invent, innovate, reinstitute Capitalism, get rid of Progressivism and its “Utopia” via Deathworship and Enslavement. Let “the workers” work. For profit. Free up the human mind – thank you, Jeff.

    That’s my kind of Utopia.

  22. dicentra says:

Utah’s AG Mark Shurtleff is joining in the lawsuit against Obamacare.

seeing as how the teabaggers lost.

Joke’s on you, RD. We don’t have the money to support the new entitlement, it’s unconstitutional, and it went against the express will of the people.

Your visions of Utopia will crumble to dust before you get to enjoy the freebies.

  23. bh says:

Yes, Cthulhu, he’s the future. A baby in every pot and an inconceivable loathing in every garage.

  24. cranky-d says:

Will there be a continuing purge of RD? I hope so, because I’m a hatey hater.

  25. J."Trashman" Peden says:

seeing as how the teabaggers lost

Imaginary gratifications, RD. Self hate, fear and hate of life – those are your congenital defects.

We are stronger than you, and you know it.

  26. RD says:

Utah’s AG Mark Shurtleff is joining in the lawsuit against Obamacare.

State attorneys general have no standing against congress in this matter, and they know it. It’s all just a dog and pony show for the teabagger rubes.

If they really want to be consistent, they should go after Medicare as well.

  27. Joe says:

It is like the United Colors of Benetton. Now add a little Abercrobie beefsteak to that sandwich and RD should be happy.

  28. JD says:

How does my nutsack taste, RD?

    Seek help.

  29. bh says:

Everyone who has ‘bagged RD are now bound in kinship. It’s like a blood brothers but far deeper.

  30. mcgruder says:

Shurtleff is an idiot defender of Utah’s corporate criminals. I’d rather win without him.

All in, simply a terrible day for a country that is in terrible economic shape.

Bush and then Obama. What did we do to deserve leaders as bad as this? Is there NO ONE who understands what leadership is?

  31. JD says:

RD is prolly picking pubes out from between its teeth in between comments. Because not all of you are kind enough to be properly groomed.

  32. B Moe says:

What did we do to deserve leaders as bad as this?

    I can’t imagine.

Shurtleff is an idiot defender of Utah’s corporate criminals. I’d rather win without him.

  33. JD says:

mcgruder – Listening to the congresscritters and the MSM who are on their knees in front of Teh One, leadership is bribery, arm twisting, threats, coercion, dishonesty, and overall contempt for the consent of the governed.

  34. Joe says:

Tea Party members gone wild! Obiviously the healthcare vote sent them over the edge.

  35. mcgruder says:

Dunno B Moe, I think you make my point for me. Those who’ll protect those who hump others, well, I just cant get there. Guess you can.
JD: as always, too right. Sadly, you dont get tax credits for solid blog posts, but if there was–and give it time–you’d be in for it.

  36. David Frum says:

Republicans had it coming, they were flaunting it like hussies. Well they had it coming. They should have played ball, put out when the Dem boys came calling on healthcare, and then they would be “winners” like the Democrats.

And shave those legs and put on some makeup! You are conservatives damn it. Someone could mistake you for butch lesbians.

  37. B Moe says:

Dunno B Moe, I think you make my point for me. Those who’ll protect those who hump others, well, I just cant get there.

Who said anything about protecting him?  I am talking about not supporting him when he is doing something good, because he has also done other things that are bad.

You can support the action without supporting the man.  When dealing with politicians, lawyers and salesmen I have found it to pretty much be a neccessity.

Think of it as a hate the sin, love the sinner kind of deal, only backwards, sort of.

  38. B Moe says:

Love the good, hate the do gooder?

  39. alppuccino says:

That rut you’re making is deep mcgruder.

  40. dicentra says:

I am talking about not supporting him when he is doing something good,

    Also known as positive reinforcement.

mcgruder: fill me in a bit on Shurtleff’s sins. I don’t pay attention to local politics.

  41. guinsPen says:

Asking a reporter to fill you in?

    Gather your wits, woman!

  42. JHo says:

Is there NO ONE who understands what leadership is?

“Statesmanship” has fallen from use. What no man would have thrust upon him a hundred years ago is what nearly all expect as a matter of course today.

Like God, honor and beauty are dead.

  43. JHo says:

All in, simply a terrible day for a country that is in terrible economic shape.

The country is in terrible economic shape so as to enable a stream of terrible days.

  44. tforeman says:

My late former husband, an empresario, always said a good deal is one in which both parties are satisfied. You find out the main thing the other party wants and deliver it. The current occupant of the Oval Office is no leader. He did not listen. He (actively, deliberately) promoted divisivness. There were many ways a bill could have been crafted that would make most people in the country happy.
