Belated Expression of Deep Gratitude [Dan Collins]

I’m going to be spending some of the rest of the day thanking people for sending money when we were stuck down in Florida, helping M&D move into assisted living. It’s really inexcusable that I’ve taken this long.

For those of you who were able to donate, or wished you could have, I want to say that I’m deeply grateful. You helped us out of a jam. And to Jeff, who both put the bleg up and donated, my thanks again.

There are a lot of people whom I could single out, but I want you all to know that Thor is one of them. He donated twice, the second time after finding out what it was all about, having placed his own mom in assisted living. Just so you know.

Somewhat related, Jun Loayza at Viralogy:

Hey Dan,

Viralogy.com is the social media rank that measures your online influence. We aggregate your blog, twitter, linkedin, facebook, digg, and stumble stats, put it in our algorithm, and give you your social influence score.

We want to help bloggers promote their personal brand, discover new blogs, and discover who is the most influential person online.

We just launched last week and have had a very successful first week! More big things to come!

Have a great weekend

Hey, looks like Jules weighed in on Cheney-Obama.

Looks like thor put his money where his mouth wasn’t.

Good for him. I wasn’t able to donate (even after you pointed out something I commented on in the Pub, a recognition which was very cool – like the email I got from J.G. about his book Liberal Fascism the other day) but I did just make my largest donation to PW of$111.10.

Thanks for doing your part Dan.

thor is a good guy and mostly a lot of people know that – except he doesn’t always play a good guy on the internet but if he did he wouldn’t be thor. He’d be more like that guy Stanley in that Jericho show on Hulu what started off very promisingly but ended up pretty much showing itself to be a dirty socialist CBS propaganda vehicle and so when I think about the new NBC show what is shooting down in Long Beach called Day One I figure the odds are pretty good it will end up being a dirty socialist NBC propaganda vehicle and probably have a character very much like Stanley in it, who will not remind people of thor very much at all

    Jesus Fuck Happy.

If you look for shit like that in that, you gonna find da shit.

    Damn.

William F. Buckley Jr. wasn’t particularly proud of his threat to sock that goddamned sonofabitch in the jaw (so he’d stay plastered), as it were. Read “The Reagan I Knew.”

Buckley taught you and I and any conservative the way, yet you fail to mention him and don’t even attempt to appreciate, in this post at least, his life’s results acting against everything you advocate here.

I’ve said it once and I will say it again: Without Buckley there is no conservatism.

Let’s collectively get our heads from out of the surrounding of our collective anus: BUCKLEY WON YOU DUMB BASTARDS.

WHY THE FUCK DON’T WE CELEBRATE THAT?

Okay I’m drunk and I’m stupid. I know I should not post this. But sometimes when emotions supercede logic or rational thought, shit fucking gets done.

And Buckley, the man who climbed out the window so Reagan could be heard, literally, deserves more than nothing, even if it only be this.

His choice, and choices have consequences. If he can make a difference being himself, that’s what he should do. If he can’t, that’s his problem.

Thanks for the shout out, Dan. Hope all is well.

Here’s more brass in pocket, “intention, I feel inventive.” Ha, haha.
