“House Democrat Leaders: Tea Partiers Are Racist, Nazi, Gun Nuts”

Perhaps if the protesters had been more careful about what they wore, or more precise in the language they used on their signs…

  1. slackjawedyokel says:

These House Democrats must be the “moderates” we should be careful not to offend.

  2. Honestly, the point about Susan Roesgen belies the untruth of the charge. That she made it out of that crowd w/o a wrinkle is proof that the Tea Party goers well well behaved.

  3. Tman says:

So when should we start predicting the inevitable “I was behind these protests all along” posts from the Frum side of the right?

Before or after the next rallies?

  4. You guys see this at Ace’s? Some normal woman takes on Susan Roesgen after CNN turns their camera off. Someone else filmed it. It’s really good.

  5. The Pragmatic Conservatives says:

    Tman,
Over at Hot Air the divine one’s position has begun to morph.

  6. MarkD says:

The House Democrats? That would include figures like John “Abscam” Murtha. I’ve heard a campaign contribution to John pays better than the slots at Vegas.

This would be the guy whose precise words tarred a group of Marines with murdering civilians. That’s not what the trials found. Maybe precision only works in one direction.

  7. JD says:

That CNN twat was a twat.

  8. dicentra says:

So, the “Death to all mud people” sign was inappropriate?

I guess the “Heil Hitler” had to go, too.

  9. Tman says:

    Nooo!! Not the mud people!!

  10. JD says:

Where were the giant paper mache heads ?!

  11. happyfeet says:

Had ’em throw a tea party for a bunch of children while all the while dirty socialist slime was under the building I think.

But you know what really scares these dirty socialist CNN bitches is a la carte cable pricing.

  12. BJT-FREE! says:

Cmon now, JD. The protester was carrying an “Obama is the Antichrist!” sign!!!11ELEVENTY11!!1

Obviously they were a bunch of hick toothed bark chewing redneck extremists who need to be argued with rather than interviewed.

  14. Rob Crawford says:

In addition, the tea parties are “not really all about average citizens,” the document continues, saying neo-Nazis, militias, secessionists and racists are attending them. The tea parties are also not peaceful, since reporters in Cincinnati had to seek “police protection” during one of the events, it states.

Weird. I admit I don’t pay attention to the fluff that passes for local news, but I thought I’d have heard about something like this.

I’d like to contrast this to a period of time in which Democrats expressed naught but support for the “discontent” expressed in Cincinnati. Those expressions of “discontent” involved rioting, looting, and a police officer nearly being gut-shot by one of the “protesters”, and continued for most of the following year — there were definite no-go in daylight areas of Cincinnati for most of 2001. At least, if you weren’t as dark or darker than the president you didn’t dare go to those places.

And, curiously, searching in Google shows the leftroots being the biggest pushers of the “reporters forced from scene” story. However, they can’t seem to agree on which station the reporters came from, variously stating WCPO or WKRC. Someone who was there states it was WCPO, and quotes in its entirety the reporting:

Unfortunately a small isolated group of angry people, many of whom who said they were frustrated with the media, caused WCPO’s crew to leave the event early.

If there were any threats, then those should be dealt with appropriately. I am, however, tempted to point in the direction of campus lefties and their reactions to conservative speakers, most recently Tancredo.

  15. urthshu says:

See, I think carrying an “Obama = AntiChrist” sign is teh funneh. Its equally as rational as “BusHitler” is. Maybe that should’ve been printed on the other side or something

  16. N. O'Brain says:

    Thanks, Jeff.

  17. Rob Crawford says:

    Another eye-witness report:

According to the friend who took these pictures, they did scare the cameramen away. Apparently there were 2-3 people there to oppose the rally. The news, of course, attempted to interview these three dissenters. The crowd quickly saw what was going on, and stood behind the person being interviewed chanting “Liberal Media.” At that point, the cameraman left. You can see a few pictures of the camera guy leaving in the album I posted above.

When did you get your balls back?

  19. DarthRove says:

Wow, Carin. The comments section under the video you posted are not at all helpful. Intemperate. Some might even say antagonistic. Tut tut, I say. Tut tut with a firm finger-wag thrown in for good measure.

  20. happyfeet says:

People are trying to sneak in a backdoor meme that making dirty socialist journalists feel unsafe is a bad thing. No. When these fuckers sleep in shifts is how we’ll know we’ve taken our little country back I think.

  21. Jeff G says:

Why not just cut to the chase and define as “rightwing extremists” anyone who doesn’t vote for Obama, and then show fidelity to that vote by agreeing with everything the guy does in perpetuity?

  22. what? did someone wear white shoes or something? i meant before labor day and all, but i’ll denounce myself anyway: RACIST!

and i feel extra bad that i didn’t go see newt here last night. but the weather was teh suq, and i would have had to go alone and didn’t feel up to doing that. and i also feel so dumb now too. because i realized too late last night that i could have asked here, if anyone was going who i could maybe go with.

right wing extremist? pfffft. i’ve been called worse. bring it. and OUTLAW!

  23. Ric Locke says:

he crowd quickly saw what was going on, and stood behind the person being interviewed chanting “Liberal Media.”

    More of this, please.

In fact, what I would like to see is a brass band playing Sousa marches at maximum volume, surrounding the <sneer>reporters</sneer>, then see how long it takes them to correlate that with “…sounding brass and crashing cymbal…”

    Regards,
    Ric

  24. Makewi says:

The left is only doing these things as a reaction to what is obviously right wing hypocrisy. The right forced their hand. They simply had to fight as dirty as was being done to them.

    There is no liberal media.

Even seemingly rational arguments made by the right wing can be discounted out of hand because the intention behind them is to perpetuate racism, bigotry and intolerance. As such, opposing the right wing must always be good.

The existence of signs now comparing Obama to Hitler shows the hypocrisy of the right wing when complaining about the BusHitler signs over the last 8 years.

  25. happyfeet says:

oh. You know what sucks is dirty socialist journalists. louchette made me remember I wanted to share this today and I don’t think I will work it in artfully. It doesn’t work in my IE just firefox but it is a very helpful thinger.

“The existence of signs now comparing Obama to Hitler shows the hypocrisy of the right wing when complaining about the BusHitler signs over the last 8 years.”

    You forgot the {/S} tag.

  27. N. O'Brain says:

“The reason any conservative’s failing is always major news is that it allows liberals to engage in their very favorite taunt: Hypocrisy! Hypocrisy is the only sin that really inflames them. Inasmuch as liberals have no morals, they can sit back and criticize other people for failing to meet the standards that liberals simply renounce. It’s an intriguing strategy. By openly admitting to being philanderers, draft dodgers, liars, weasels and cowards, liberals avoid ever being hypocrites.”

    K. Jack Riley, the associate director of Rand’s National Security Research Division, has written extensively about domestic terrorism and preparedness. He is among the analysts who don’t believe the DHS assessment was politically motivated but who found its execution somewhat ham-handed and incomplete.

“All indications are, at this point, that returning veterans are unfortunately turning the guns on themselves,” Riley said, noting the increase in suicides and other self-damaging behavior associated with combat trauma.

Yes our soldiers are fucking nutcases says NPR, it’s just thank God they’re suicidal nutcases. Otherwise they’d probably kill the fucking president, is what they’d probably do.

  33. N. O'Brain says:

“Yes our soldiers are fucking nutcases says NPR, it’s just thank God they’re suicidal nutcases. Otherwise they’d probably kill the fucking president, is what they’d probably do.”

Yeah, but the last soldier nutcase what killed a president was a communist.

  34. kelly says:

Oh, puhleeez. They’re dragging out the soldier suicide shit again? How many times has that been debunked? Fucking lefties pricks.

  35. Rick Ballard says:

    feets,

The (D)irty Socialists have been running ads offering to “help” returning vets for the past two years. Soros spares no expense when it comes to meme construction.

I know I certainly could never vote to convict any vet memedriven to take out a (D)irty Socialist legislator. Or billionaire thief for that matter. I’ve come to feel the same way about tax cheats as well. If Turbo Timmy is good enough for the (D)irty Socialist leader to use at Treasury then tax cheats have nothing to fear from me.

  36. psycho... says:

The suicide rate among vets doesn’t exceed that of their non-vet demographic counterparts. Young dudes shoot themselves.

But the lie serves its purpose(s).

    @ link:

There probably aren’t many Democrats who genuinely believe the charges levied by their leadership.

They’re not supposed to believe them. They’re supposed to repeat them.

The sense that such things are so that’s generated (notably among our “pragmatic” friends) by incessant culture-wide repetition of these never-specifically-believed charges makes a majority — and it is a majority — reflexively identify against the targets of the charges.

Or relish fantasies of their bloody self-destruction.

    It’s kind of impressively evil.

  37. maggie katzen says:

Kelly, I can’t look it up at the moment, but I think that in Jan 2009 military suicide rates were (finally! /lefty) higher than the comparable civilian rate. Thing is, I know through RTO that the army has been pushing suicide prevention for a while now. I think his last class on it was earlier this year.

  38. Todd, the Sofa King says:

Was at the NYC rally, can send you pics if you want, Jeff.

One note re the Paulbots at NYC rally:

The vast majority of participants were normal men and women protesting a tax-and-spend Congress and White House. But the Paulbots were very vocal. There was this one kid – grungy trustafarian who was having trouble growing his beard – that sought out whatever Public Access Channel D “reporter” he could find, and went on at length and at meth-speed about abolishing the Fed and IRS, booing when speakers spoke of the troops finishing the mission, calling 9-11 an inside job, etc.

Then went back to smoking the ‘natural’ tobacco cigarette (it’s, you know, healthier to smoke organic tobacco) and generally being the nuisance that is a job requirement for being a Ron Paul supporter – a callow, mouthy moron.

posted this on another thread ( i think that’s what you call it) at Ace, fyi

  39. kelly says:

How much higher, maggie? Margin of error higher or statistically meaningful higher? Trending higher or blip? Were all the suicides due to forward deployment?

I’m not being antagonistic, mind you. It’s just that I loathe it when the left uses our men and women in uniform as propaganda. LOATHE.

  40. bill says:

Now we go live to ace investigative reporter, Susan Goebbels, at the Nuremberg rally, er….. the Tea Party in Chicago. What a skanky, lying piece of crap!

  41. Daryl Herbert says:

Whenever they don’t know what to say, they fall on their standard liberal-losing-an-argument tactic.

    “RAAAAAACIIIIIIST!!!!!”

  42. Rick Ballard says:

    kelly,

You have to set parameters in order for the stats to make sense. The DoD does not help matters with press releases like that one. If you compare the sergeants blurb: “VA statistics show that between 2002 and 2006, more than 250 veterans who left the military after Sept. 11, 2001, committed suicide.” with overall numbers for males 21-27 for roughly the same period you begin to suspect that the something might be amiss. Until I see total discharge numbers combined with age I’m going to have a hard time ‘buying’ the premise.

As pyscho noted, the young kill themselves at a disproportionate clip whether civilian or ex-military. I think it’s constant daily exposure to (D)irty Socialists at the indoctrination centers that is the true cause.

    Sara Jane Moore.

  46. Mikey NTH says:

Slightly OT for this sight. My little brother has a couple of articles up at Small Wars Journal. This one has bearing to this site:

    http://smallwarsjournal.com/mag/2009/04/lexicon-and-struggle.php

  47. Mikey NTH says:

You know what is really hypocritical? Left wing bloggers who lat week were complaining that they weren’t receiving their cut from organizations whose agenda they supported calling all Tea Parties unworthy of notice because they are supported by conservative organizations.

Not that it is true about the Tea Parties, but it is an interesting bit of hypocrisy by the self-annointed, self-righteous, and holier-than-thou left. And it says a lot that they can behave this way with impunity, or that anyone would take them seriously after these back-to-back claims.

  48. thank you for that color thinger mr. feets. it is a really neat thinger. and easy to use too.

See, I think carrying an “Obama = AntiChrist” sign is teh funneh.

    maybe its true?

Georgetown University says it covered over the monogram “IHS” — symbolizing the name of Jesus Christ — because it was inscribed on a pediment on the stage where President Obama spoke at the university on Tuesday and the White House had asked Georgetown to cover up all signs and symbols there….

    ?

  50. meghan says:

the White House had asked Georgetown to cover up all signs and symbols there….

Presumably any stray garlic had to be quarantined as well.

  51. kelly says:

Good thing Obama’s a Christian, huh?

  52. Mikey NTH says:

router, I could see asking for that cover-up just so that it didn’t appear that Pres. Obama was advocating in favor of a religion. “Hello, I am speaking here today at this university as President of the United States of America. Please ignore the crucifix behind me, that has nothing to do with my address; it is just part of this university as a Roman Catholic university…ah heck, Hitchens and Sharpton are going to think I swam the Tiber now no matter what I say.”

  53. meya says:

“Good thing Obama’s a Christian, huh?”

    He did have a Seder.

  54. JD says:

Silly question, but does meya ever act in a manner which would be construed as anything remotely approaching normal in the real world?

    so did presumably bernie madoff

Tomorrow night, at our weekly protest/counterprotest, I will be happily holding up a sign reading, HOW DOES MY TEA BAG TASTE NOW?
