Most Ethical EVAH!!! [Dan Collins]

Bwahahahahahahahahahahaha . . . bwahahahahaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!

Former Gov. Rod Blagojevich’s brother solicited U.S. Sen. Roland Burris for up to $10,000 in campaign cash before Blagojevich named Burris to the coveted post — something Burris initially failed to disclose under oath before an Illinois House impeachment panel, records and interviews show.

Burris (D-Ill.) acknowledges being hit up for the money in a new affidavit he has sent to the head of the House committee that recommended Blagojevich be removed from office.

The affidavit is dated Feb. 5 — three weeks after Burris was sworn in to replace President Obama in the Senate.

Hahahaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!

Johnny Caspar: “I’m talkin’ about friendship. I’m talkin’ about character. I’m talkin’ about – hell. Leo, I ain’t embarrassed to use the word – I’m talkin’ about ethics.”

So rotten

I am slowly coming to the conclusion that any argument of any type can me met by quotes from the following sources (and not in this particular order of precedent):

    Jean Paul Sartre

    Robert Heinlein

    P.J. O’Rourke

The Godfather (I and II only)

    Caddyshack.

And on this whole Blagovich thing, his wife is apparently in on it too. I hope she squeels. http://hotair.com/archives/2009/02/14/blago-watch-patty-in-the-crosshairs/#comments

  2. Spiny Norman says:

It’s Chicago. How can anyone be surprised by any of this?

  3. Techie says:

    I’m sensing a culture of something here………….

  4. Techie says:

Who looks worse: Harry Reid and Co. for caving in and seating a guy that *gasp* turns out to be tainted by Gov. Blago, as we all knew he would be.

The Illinois Legislature for allowing it?

The Democratic Party, for basically turning a blind eye to all ethics concerns?

    All of the above?

  5. Dan Collins says:

You forgot Senator Burris, for, um . . . forgetting to mention it in his previous affidavits.

  6. Spies, Brigands, and Pirates says:

How lucky we are that His Holiness, Our Lord and Presentdent, Barack Hussein Obama managed to swim in that sewer for decades without ever even being tempted. Heck, not even Jesus can say that.

All Hail Lord Obama! All Hail Lord Obama!

  7. Spiny Norman says:

    O-BAM-A!O-BAM-A! O-BAM-A!

  8. JHoward says:

    All of the above?

Can’t we talk about warehousing? Bunnies?

  9. Bob Reed says:

How lucky we are that His Holiness, Our Lord and Presentdent, Barack Hussein Obama managed to swim in that sewer for decades without ever even being tempted.”

That’s because he was walking on that sewer water SBP, not swimming like a mere mortal…I mean, c’mon…What kind of messiah would he be if he couldn’t at least walk on water…

He’s the only virgin in the whorehouse that is Chicago politics; don’t-cha-know…

AT least, that’s what Chris “Tingle” Matthews tells me…

“Your Honor, I’d like to revise and extend my testimony”

That’s a hell of an exemption. Almost makes me believe we are back to a Monarchy with all the attendant lesser Royals.

  11. Techie says:

    Has Burris committed perjury?

  12. Carin says:

You know what I notice here? Lack of trolls. I see that all we have to do to get rid of trolls is merely bring up those issues they refuse to talk about.

  13. Lamontyoubigdummy says:

    “Has Burris committed perjury?”

I dunno, probably. But he has obviously committed gross douchebaggery.

Unfortunately, as “douchebaggery” is the prerequisite for any and all elected government service on the Hill, all Douchebags are innocent until subpoenaed, er, ah, found guilty.

  14. Lamontyoubigdummy says:

Don’t hang out the “bug zapper” Carin.

It’s Ok, LYBD. I said the “nishi” word and she didn’t appear.

  17. Lamontyoubigdummy says:

“It’s Ok, LYBD. I said the “nishi” word and she didn’t appear.”

Dick Cheney must have took nishi quail hunting.

  18. Carin says:

Well, thor did have a little crush on her. May-haps we should be concerned about her absence?

  19. Lamontyoubigdummy says:

“Well, thor did have a little crush on her. May-haps we should be concerned about her absence?”

In the end she was all about the poetry and haikus.

Maybe she slipped, let thor get too close and her pepper spray ran out.

    Liberal tragedy.

I suppose we should call Jimmy Carter…or Interpol, or something.

  20. ray says:

What is so funny is when he was first appointed he did not give that information out about being approached for fund raising. Now it all comes out and I think he should step down. He should have given all that information before they gave him that seat. He is just a bigger liar than the Blagojevich. Step down!

  21. lee says:

By the time that this is all over will there
be anyone left at any level of government that
can be trusted. Is there anyone with any integrity.

  22. lee (the original) says:

Hey, there’s only enough room in this blog for one lee!

  23. Dan Collins says:

    That’s lee being stern.

  24. Tom Reagan says:

Tell Leo he’s not God on the throne, he’s just a cheap political boss with more hair tonic than brains.

  25. Matt says:

And not one liberal cares … =x

The great thing about being a lib is you can “most ethical congress in history” and then completely not mean it and there are no consequences. In alot of ways, I wish I was liberal -life would be alot easier without those pesky morals and ethics.

  26. Matt says:

Eh snippy’s response would be something about a Republican frame up and our attempt to distract people away from the real issues facing this country, due to bush’s 8 years of incompetence.

  27. McGehee says:

By the time that this is all over will there
be anyone left at any level of government that
    can be trusted.

    Never was.

Thinking people in government could be trusted is what got us in this mess over the last two or three generations.

The Founders knew you couldn’t trust anyone with power for very long. They just didn’t realize you also couldn’t trust the people to never lose their distrust of the powerful, or to never be fooled about who the powerful were.

  28. guinsPen says:

I suppose we should call Jimmy Carter…or Interpol, or something.

I say we call the Caterer.

Ding-dong, ding-dong. Do you hear the bells go ding-dong?
Do you know, do you know why they’re ringing?
Do you know… why the birds are singing?
Well you’re gonna get a big surprise,
’cause I’m gonna put you wise.

The bells are ringing… for me and my gal.
The birds are singing… for me and my gal.
    Everybody’s been knowing… to a wedding they’re going.
And for weeks they’ve been sewing, every Susie and Sal.

They’re congregating… for my and my gal.
The Parson’s waiting… for me and my gal.
And sometime… we’re gonna build a little home for two, or three, or four, or more…
In Loveland… for me and my gal.

    A Boy… A Girl.. And A Song!

  29. julesverne says:

And we are to believe that Obama came from Chicago and is unscathed, every day that goes by and Illinois is in the press, it seems more and more impossible that he too isn’t corrupt. I live in Illinois and it makes me sick that we are in the spotlight once again, not for the Abe Lincoln 200th birthday celebration, but for yet another lying, disgusting politcian, coming out with the truth AFTER (conveniently) his appointment. And he had the nerve to say he was going to sue if Durbin et al wouldn’t get behind him. I hope they investigate him for perjury and throw the preverbial book at him……………

  30. Johnny Caspar: “Now Blago is a horse of a different color, ethically speakin'”

Obama: “So you want to kill him?”

    Burris; “For starters.”

    Best. Movie. Evah.
