Hidden Costs of Evil Bushitler Inaugurations [Dan Collins]

David Weisman has the scoop about how the Obama (PBUH) declaration of emergency eggnoguration is SO NOT four times more expensive than the Bush one that the MSM got all in a tizzy about. Just how much they cost relative to one another, Weisman doesn’t say, because it’s apples and orangutans, my friends. So don’t expect anyone to do any hard digging, as the whole thing is incommensurate.

David Weisman borrowed all my Bananarama remixes and he said he was just gonna rip them for his iPod and give them right back but that was like two years ago. I don’t think he even has an iPod.

  2. Well, at least it will be prostitution free!!!

  3. Dan Collins says:

    Wow, free prostitutes?

  4. B Moe says:

    A prostitution free DC?

It would be a ghost town.

  5. panther girl says:

“I’m not concerned with what visitors think. I’m concerned about the problem that exists,” Thompson said.

But only concerned about the problem for the next four days really.

  6. mcgruder says:

He’s right, it is an apples to oranges comparison.
the broader point is one he missed though. Obama is simply doing what the GOP did, only four times bigger. Those six figure donors are going to be looking for….something down the pike, you know?

  7. Jeffersonian says:

Of course we know, McGruder, and if a few million find their way into the pockets of those donors, well, I’m sure they’ll be properly stimulated.

  8. happyfeet says:

I don’t agree. I think you’re actually kind of wrong mcgruder. The genesis of the meme Mr. Weisman and his Soros pals are combating was the AP’s and the NYT’s and NPR’s et. al.’s apples and oranges inflection they put on their propaganda with respect to Bush’s inaugural vs. Baracky’s. The cost comparison is neither apples or oranges. Nobody thinks Baracky is NOT gonna spend like a syphilitic Bangkok whore what grabbed your Amex out of your wallet. It has nothing at all to do with what Bush spent. It’s a red herring to frame it that way cause their concern is that the propaganda got caught out way too blatantly for their comfort.

  9. parsnip says:

    1. Do you approve or disapprove of the way Barack Obama has handled the presidential transition?

    Approve 80%
    Disapprove 15%
    Unsure 5%

Oh, my, do you guys really understand what a tiny majority you are?

  10. Pablo says:

I approve of the way you typed that sentence, snippy. But you’re still a vile waste of oxygen.

  11. parsnip says:

A nod to the “permanent majority” Republicans were talking about just a few wars and a recession ago.

I’m sure you guys will win it back by carping about the high cost of an anointment.

    Keep up the good work.

An example of why happyfeet is a PW treasure.

  13. Techie says:

Has there ever been a group so unhappy with “victory” than our trolls?

  14. I mean, come on! everybody’s jumping off this cliff!

  15. Techie says:

So, having their SecCommerce withdraw his name under accusition of scandal.

Prospective SecTresuary can’t/won’t do his taxes.

Massive scandal involving his political contemporaries in Illinois. Senate crisis over seating his replacement. His Chief of Staff maybe on FBI tape regarding the matter.

    It’s just gone swimmingly.

Well, in his favor, he can stage one massive $160 million party.

    Woo!

  16. Techie says:

Cause, look I’ll say it, for being The One, thinking that this is a 85% Seal of Approval transition speaks to either the MSM falling down on their supposed sacred calling, or the proles being polled.

I’d hate to see a “bad transition” with that yardstick.

  17. well, you know who else has a hand in the transition? George Bush.

  18. B Moe says:

So its okay to be a lying, thieving tool of the mega-rich, as long as you scam the majority into thinking you like them, is that about it then, tuber?

  19. just takin’ a page from his man, Lincoln, B Moe.

  20. parsnip says:

So its okay to be a lying, thieving tool of the mega-rich, as long as you scam the majority into thinking you like them, is that about it then, tuber?

Yes, I kinda like Bush, B Moe, even though I know he’s been “a lying, thieving tool of the mega-rich.”

Chalk it up to The Cult of Boosh.

  21. Carin says:

#9 ranks for most irrelevant comment EVA!

  22. no, no, see, Carin “transition”=”inauguration” and that Obama, you may not have heard, is POPULAR!

you know it’s getting bad when the Sunday comics mention all the crap being peddled with Obama’s name or face on it. I do like the Disney comparison, though.

  23. B Moe says:

The Democrats hate high income earners, achievers, they love the already wealthy. It’s who they are.
That is what makes tuber so ultimately pathetic, he is too morally crippled and greedy to understand who his friends really are.

  24. Sdferr says:

With Barack Obama it isn’t going to be simply a matter of hidden costs, so much as it will a question of hidden payers. If you read PeBHO’s speeches given in Philadelphia and Wilmington yesterday on his train trip to Washington, I think you’ll see that the forgetting of the Forgotten Man has returned with a vengeance.

  25. Carin says:

Heh. of course, other comics weren’t so critical. Except, of course, Doonsbury which was being critical of Boooosh.

  26. ushie says:

What I loved about our local DC newscast was the talking head said, “Ad, of course, He’ll be swearing in, on the Lincoln Bible.”

WHAT THE FUCK “OF COURSE”???? What is so “Of Course” about it? JEEEEEEEESUS FUCKING CHRIST ON A CRACKER, will someone tell me WHY “of COURSE?”

  27. B Moe says:

I am a little bit pissed about all this, when everybody was talking about the Lightgiver and the Messiah and the Second Coming, I was thinking a little higher up than the Second Coming of Lincoln, ya know? What kind of bait and switch bullshit are they pulling here?

  28. B Moe says:

I can see it now, the first State of the Union Address in a wheelchair, then he starts playing touch football on the lawn, next thing you know its grave speeches in a sweater.

  29. ushie says:

And the thing after that is wooden teeth.

  30. mcgruder says:

Parsnip, a transition is directed and handled by the sitting POTUS.
In all cases, Bush’s work has been exemplary.
Obama has no power with respect to the success of a transition.

  31. Rob Crawford says:

Well, at least it will be prostitution free!!!

What will Barney Frank’s roommate do?!

  32. Techie says:

    When’s that coup coming? Time’s a wasting?

I thought the only difference between Hitler and Bush was that Hitler had good intentions/motivations?

When does he order all Democrat politicians shot? When is the martial law coming? I’ve been told for the last 8 years that the Reich-wing ThugTheocracy was eminent. And he’s letting Obama throw some sort of $160 million party? What kind of dictator does that? No self-respecting one, I guess.

  33. Obstreperous Infidel says:

mcgruder, you can’t educate the hate filled dumbfuck. But nice try.

  34. Carin says:

OI is right. He’s impervious to facts.

  35. Except, of course, Doonsbury which was being critical of Boooosh.

oh yeah. I get the feeling he’s gonna be nothing but Palin bashing after this week. can you think of what his little icon for Obama is off the top of your head? me neither.

  36. parsnip says:

    Gee, Techie,

Do you think you wingnuts will ever learn the difference between facts and politics?

  37. Carin says:

I think he may have to retire, Maggie. A gal can hope …

  38. Pablo says:

OK, what is Katie Couric doing on the halftime report? Why am I seeing the musical entertainment from Barackopalooza?

  39. soroslapdog says:

    From a veggie head:
“Do you think you wingnuts will ever learn the difference between facts and politics?”

    Not in the veggie world.

  40. Terrye says:

    parsnip:

I think your poll is crap, my friend. Exactly what is there to do in a transition? So far Obama has not had to do anything but lie about Blago and take your money.

The truth is I find the big galas off putting. America is not a monarchy. The whole idea behind a Inaugural rather than a Coronation was to leave behind some of the pomp and lavish display of the royal class.

BTW, not so long ago Bush had a 90% approval rating and the Republicans had both Houses of Congress. In 2006 the Democrats took control of the House and since then it has become the most unpopular Congress in history. Pelosi’s approval rating is about 14%.

Hubris can get you in trouble, remember that.

Sounds like David is the denier now…
