Kathy Shaidle on the Toronto Rally [Dan Collins]

People with megaphones screaming about wiping Israel off the map and telling Jewish kids they’re gonna effing die, burning American and Israeli flags, waving Hezbollah banners and . . . Che pasa?

But hey, all those Joooos need is a little lovin’, right?

Greenwalds can begin lecturing on tribalism any time, now.

You can vote for 5 Feet of Fury under Best Canadian Blog at the weblogawardsthingie, along with Treacher under Humor and Ace is there under Best Conservative and PW (though Jeff wouldn’t like me to say it) under Very Large Blog. There are some categories there that I didn’t have any interest in, such as food and parenting, pet and fashion. I’ve never read any of the Celebrity category blogs, either. If you care, which you probably shouldn’t.

From ccs in comments: We should maybe throw in Rachel Lucas under best individual blogger

OOPS! I forgot to mention that Melissa Clouthier is over there, too

    Ignore the moron, please.

    AJB

engaging in your usual drive-by attempts at tu quoque? Ooooo!! Some nasty graffiti!!! It SOOOOOO is equivalent to worldwide attacks on synagogues, Jewish cemetaries and Jews in Britain/EU/America.

    meshugga shmuck

  3. Darleen says:

Don’t worry, Rob. AJB never, ever returns to a thread after his one attempt to shit in it.

  4. Sdferr says:

Canada, I noticed, cast the sole vote against a resolution before the UN Human Rights Council condemning Israel this morning in Geneva. 47 member States, 33 voting to condemn, 1 against, 13 abstaining [the EU membership].

  5. Rob Crawford says:

Then why even respond to him, Darleen?

  6. Wow, thanks for that Weblog Awards endorsement, Dan. Coming from you, it means a lot. Ezra Levant will win, and deserves to, but I wouldn’t say no to second place :-)

Yeah, it was me and 12 Jews against the screaming Muslim hoards in downtown T.O., most of them recent immigrants judging by their accents, which means they were living here on our dime.

Plus the Mayor is pushing for a ban on handguns, so I gotta get my damn license before he pulls the plug.

    Sheesh.

Anybody got a couple of spare green cards in a drawer they could mail me…?

  7. Sdferr says:

It appears we may have occasion to amend Raul Hilberg’s aphoristic summation of anti-Jewish policy down through history:

    1) Conversion (you may not live among us as Jews)
    2) Expulsion (you may not live among us)
    3) Annihilation (you may not live)

Since the Jews managed to escape utter annihilation to create their own state without converting, the new policy would seem to be:

    4) Defenselessness (you may not attempt to save your own lives)

Unfortunately our northern neighbors are nearly as close to dhimmitude as the UK…

A result of unrestrained immigration, PC multi-culturalist social philosophy, and an immigrant population all too happy to go along with the identity politics charade and simply refuse to assimilate…

Why bother; society will adapt to them, man!

I mean, we have to tolerate their insane hatred of Jooooooooos! It’s part of their culture..!

  9. Bob Reed says:

What I loved was the photo at 5 feet of fury that showed the “rainbow” flag amongst all of the pro and pan-Arab protester; the great left wing coalition, unted in their hatred of Joooooooooooos! that are keepin’ folks down…

These putzes don’t realize just how much worse off they’d be as dhimmis…

And those LGBT types, well let’s just say that their civil rights would most certainly be violated!

  10. Carin says:

Funny … why is the graffiti in English?

  11. Curmudgeon says:

Funny … why is the graffiti in English?

One is reminded of Saddam’s “baby food” factories. I sure wouldn’t feed my kid that stuff.

  12. DarthRove says:

Funny … why is the graffiti in English?

Because Western journalists don’t read Arabic?

  13. parsnip says:

Everybody in Canada is an immigrant except for members of the First Nations.

  14. Bob Reed says:

Which tribe are you a part of parsnip?

  15. Carin says:

Everybody in Canada is an immigrant except for members of the First Nations.

    So what?

  16. Spies, Brigands, and Pirates says:

Everybody in Canada is an immigrant except for members of the First Nations.

    Uh… no.

Hint: the “First Nations” came from Asia.

  17. parsnip says:

Just a little reminder for the little racist.

Let’s see how the sane media covered this event:

Police maintained a barricade line to keep demonstrators away from the consulate, located in downtown Toronto. They made no arrests and described the crowd as well-behaved.

The right wing extremist cocoon, what a small-minded but fanciful place.

  18. Curmudgeon says:

it amazes me how pargimp and his ilk switched from fellating the Sandinistas to fellating Hamas, without missing a beat. At least the communists promised a utopian future.

  19. Jim Treacher says:

Thanks, Dan! You can tell #2 is a satirist because he calls himself “Jon Swift.” He was going to call himself “Al Einstein,” but that seemed arrogant.

  20. Squid says:

Oh, look — now it’s calling Kathy a liar! Isn’t it cute?

  21. Rob Crawford says:

Hint: the “First Nations” came from Asia.

And the most recent science says they weren’t first, anyway.

Must maintain cocoon! With open commenting! And lots of dissenters! And we’re not very good at this cocoon thing are we?

  23. Dan Collins says:

When they said “well behaved,” snippy, they meant “didn’t burn any synagogues.”

  24. mojo says:

    “First Nations” is so primacy-oriented.

    I prefer “dirty savages”, myself.

Why am I surprised that the anti-semite is defending the islamonazis?

We’re all part of the African Diaspora, Rob.

  28. cranky-d says:

I understand the first people didn’t come from the Tigris-Euphrate (sp?) river basin, as was previously thought (at least when i was in 7th grade social studies), though I guess it was still Africa.

  29. Dan Collins says:

Thanks, Kathy. I’m glad that you enjoy my stuff. I do want to point out–and not out of false modesty, I hope–that the major difference, though, is that I post at the House of Goldstein, which he built. Like him and unlike me, you created your audience. So did Ace and Treacher and Rachel.

Take for example Gabriel Malor at Ace’s place: I like him (a lot more than he likes me, I think ;-P), and I think that he could be a successful blogger in his own right if he decided to set up his own shop, but it wouldn’t be AoS. And when Jeff comes back and takes the front page, not many people will miss seeing me here as opposed to at the Pub, and some will be outright relieved.

So, in short, the pleasure is all mine. But at your post if you could change it from an endorsement from Protein Wisdom to one from Dan at Protein Wisdom, that would be best. Protein Wisdom is Jeff Goldstein.

  30. Kyla says:

Take a look at smalldeadanimals.com I highly recommend Kate for Best Conservative Blog. Take a look at her writing, that’ll be enough.

  31. OK Dan, no problem! Will change.

And thanks to all the fine gentlemen on this thread who are sticking up for me against the trolls.

  32. JannyMae says:

Thank you so much for linking to this eye-opening bit of blogging by Kathy Shaidle, and God bless her for covering this “protest.”

Now, if somebody could explain to me the logice behind ANYONE condemning Israel for defending herself against attacks by a group of people who have openly vowed to destroy them, I’d greatly appreciate it.

  33. Curmudgeon says:

Now, if somebody could explain to me the logice behind ANYONE condemning Israel for defending herself against attacks by a group of people who have openly vowed to destroy them, I’d greatly appreciate it.

It’s the logic of those who condemned America for defending itself against Soviet hegemony. Apologizing for the communists led to apologizing for their 3rd world allies. This led to “multiculturalism”. This led to explaining away any degree of savagery these allies would show. And so, Communists morphed into Islamunists.

  34. N. O'Brain says:

“Now, if somebody could explain to me the logice behind ANYONE condemning Israel for defending herself against attacks by a group of people who have openly vowed to destroy them, I’d greatly appreciate it.”

    Np logic involved at all.

Just a whole bunch of reactionary leftist anti-semitism, you know, the usual.

  35. Jeffersonian says:

When they said “well behaved,” snippy, they meant “didn’t burn any synagogues.”

Death threats, exhortations to drive Israel into the sea and promises to exterminate worldwide Jewry are just quotidien Red/Green staples.

  36. Nathan says:

    #19 parsnip,

Do you think hate-speech should be legal in Canada or not?

Did you watch that video? How can “You’re being wiped off the planet, and that’s a promise” be considered well-behaved, in the same universe where Mark Stein columns are illegal? If that is sanity, I’ll just wait around here to become a butterfly.

  37. thor says:

But hate speech is allowed in Canada.

Think back to when Bush visited.

    Haha.

Fuckin’ Leafs, I got your Cup!

  38. Nathan says:

When did cocoons get such a bad rap anyway? The inhabitants of cocoons undergo rapid, fundamental transformation, then emerge as altogether different creatures than when they entered. I find it amusing that this is more or less the exact opposite of what people mean by “cocoon” in popular culture today. The fact that metaphors morph over time is no shock, but the way this one came full circle is kind of neat.

  39. B Moe says:

Anybody got a couple of spare green cards in a drawer they could mail me…?

Green Cards? Since when do you need one of those to move here?

  40. Green Cards? Since when do you need one of those to move here?

is that a proposal, B Moe? gee, you get a cat and everything goes to heck.

    ;D

  41. B Moe says:

It was meant as a joke on our immigration status, but if she has money…

  42. heh, I know, but that other thing popped into my head and made me giggle so I thought I would share.

  43. Rusty says:

You owe me a laptop a**hole. Mine has diet coke all over it.
