Solenodon, anyone reckon that’s Latin for snaggletooth?
Shocking that the only other country where it might be found other than Dominican Republic would turn out to be Haiti, of all places.
It’s almost like they’re on the same island…….
She’s cuter than one would expect from reading the tone of her writing.
It’s not her. Mammals are warm blooded.
So, can this, um, creature be tamed, as the literature implies?
That outfit makes her butt look big.
Some North American shrews are also venomous. Seems to be fairly common among the Soricomorpha.
Where’s that ridiculous bowl cut and the omnipresent spooge she’s always yapping on about?
I used to find dead shrews in the yard with more frequency than seem warranted on the face of things. Wonder whether they’d been bitten in fights?
Also had a girlfriend back in highschool that had Raynaud’s disease/phenomenon but there wasn’t any treatment at all, other than doing ones best to keep warm and stay out of any potential freezing temps. Her skin could blue-up something frightful, starting with her hands and feet in temps as high as the low forties. Nasty problem, that.
Was this senseless animal abuse necessary? Poor wee thing, confused with a feminist…
The thrilling climax of the The Killer Shrews (the “giant shrews” are actually dogs in cheesy costumes).
Featuring Sheriff Rosco P. Coltrane from The Dukes of Hazzard (James Best) in an early role.
How can this venemous shrew be taimed..? How can Amanda be taimed..?
certainly extinction may be better for both; for the sake of the rest of the ecosystem…
“Tha horraw, tha horraw…”
“I’ll stay in the boat, while Jim wrestles the wild Amanda…”
That was brought to you by Mutual of Omaha.
Damn, I’m old.
SBP, that may be true, but I think what the article is saying is that these have hollowed teeth that serve as the conduit for the venom.
The male platypus has a poison spur. The poison can kill a large dog.
The male human has a poison spur, too, according to Amanda. I want to eat fugu, but I don’t want to die.
So, yet another animal the scientists thought was extinct, but isn’t, and now we have to preserve it. But we didn’t even miss it! The hell with the thing, let deforestation continue.
I wasn’t aware there were still insects in Haiti.
Dan, looks like they have grooved teeth, like the shrews, not hollow fangs like a snake.
Besides the Soricomorpha (shrews, solenodons, etc.) and the platypus, the Slow Loris is another venomous mammal.
Watch for the scene where they steal drinks from each other.
