My Apologies for Deep Sixing the Previous Iowahawk Post [Dan Collins]

It was a request. What we do know, now, though, is that Rick Roberts’ web admin and possibly Mr. Roberts himself ignored repeated requests over the course of almost a month to remove or attribute the Iowahawk material, and then finally took it down after the posters at AoS went after him again.

This situation could have been solved without much ruckus in the first place if they’d had the integrity to simply attribute the piece to its writer. Why they didn’t remains a mystery, since they don’t appear to want to be forthcoming. And as Joan of Aarrrrgh stated in the deleted comments, it’s unclear whether or not Mr. Roberts himself was aware of the brouhaha. Even so, he ought to be responsible for what’s posted on his site, and he does owe David Burge an apology, first, for having stolen his work, and second, for being so irresponsible regarding the notifications he received.

I understand that Mr. Roberts is regarded as a conservative radio commentator. It’s disappointing that he would countenance such redistributive behavior.

That’s OK Dan, we all know that he and his staff are scumbags by now…

  2. Spies, Brigands, and Pirates says:

    S’OK. I just wondered if I was hallucinating for a while. :-)

  3. I salute you for mentioning it. Many will ignore the fact that he’s a conservative commentator, shoving it down the same memory hole as Grover Norquist’s lobbying.

  4. Dan Collins says:

Thanks, David, but we’re aware that there are scumbags of every political stripe, and it’s most important that we stomp on our own before they embarrass us all too much.

It should be noted that this policy is subject to change without notice. Since Democratic Party policy is to reward its thieves, embezzlers, tax-evaders, and other scumbags with preferences, Committee posts, endorsement for re-election, etc. etc., we are becoming fully aware that the upper reaches of Government are becoming almost totally occupied by scumbags with seniority. We may in the future wish to compete on that basis.

    Ric

    David,
With all due respect, it is your bunch that are the masters at the, “name that party” game. You know, the one where those with an “R” beside their name always have their party affiliations spotlit, underscored, and otherwise breathlessly repeated endlessly; but those with a “D”, well, not so much…

And please, please David, don’t even bring up the whole “memory hole” argument, because the hypocrisy may cause you permanent blindness. Your man Obama stuffed more content down the memory hole than anyone-EVAH; with the unprecedented assistance of the folks at Google…

In fact, I understand that in homage to his campaigns expertise at the use of that same electronic orifice, it is being renamed as the Obama hole; no offense to, well, a certain angry woman close to him, you know who, intended…

  7. Ric, you’re saying you want Ted Stevens after all? If you’re going to claim he wasn’t so hot because he got caught, remember all the times he got reelected – caught or not.

  8. Bob Reed says:

Those of us who respect the law want to see Ted Stevens go to jail, David…

I also don’t even want to see him walk on a technicality, but then I’m hard line on political corruption. Although the convicting jury needs to hear all of the pertinent evidence and render there own considered decision, I don’t want him to be “guilty as sin, but free as a bird”-regardless of whether the FBI screwed the pooch during his investigation.

Can you say the same thing about Bill Ayers..? Will you be singing the same tune when Fitzgerald completes his investigation..?

Or, on a topic closer to your heart, what about when guys like Hansen at NASA deliberately falsify data in order to facilitate an outcome that they have decided a priori..? Is that malpractice, criminal fraud, or simply an abandonment of his scientific ethos..?

With all due respect David, it is your side that most often engages in historical revisionism, situational ethics, and moral relativism, not us…

No, not at all — for the moment, it would suit me to see him half-hung, drawn, and quartered. Removed from office in disgrace will do.

But since you clearly want Jefferson, Rangel, and Dodd, not to mention Cynthia McKinney, we do reserve the right to change policy in the future.

    Regards,
    Ric

Wait a minute, what deleted post? And who requested that it be taken down? Geez, you step away from the computer for 14 or 15 hours and look what happens!

RE: The radio station’s website. I find it hilarious that they felt the need to “take off & nuke it from orbit” instead of just apologizing for the theft and dealing with the well-deserved criticism. Plus, I saw one of their local commenters over at the Jawa Report bitching about all the Iowahawk assholes who came over & ruined his favorite discussion board. That’s a bit like blaming LGF and Powerline for Mary Mapes getting fired at CBS.

But Russ, that’s exactly what they did. :)
