These numbers only show the AFL-CIO’s political donations in the last 18 years. As one can see, the average shows an overwhelming bias in favor of the Democratic Party: 96 percent of all donations have been to the Democrats, while only 4 percent have been made to Republican candidates.
It’s no secret: the Democratic Party benefits monetarily from increased unionization. And lower membership means fewer donations, which in turn means less money for the party.
So rather than the American worker, the biggest beneficiaries under the Employee Free Choice Act will be union bosses and their Democratic allies. In fact, a recent poll indicates, “A majority of both Republican and Democratic voters oppose The Employee Free Choice Act.†The findings are unequivocal:â€ÂIn fact, when asked their preference if a union tried to organize in their workplace: 81 percent preferred a secret ballot, with only 14 percent preferring the card-check process.†But do not count on public disapproval to prevent this bill from being pushed hard by Congressional Democrats.
More money in union coffers, more money in Democratic coffers.
For everyone other than business, those who patronize businesses, those who work for businesses, and those who cherish the secret ballot, it’s a great deal.
You just don’t realize yet that what’s good for us is good for you.
No wonder Republicans love illegal aliens, outside of getting their yards mowed on the cheap they wanted to try to illegal alienize our workforce knowing illegals couldn’t join the union.
“Despicable!” Daffy “UAW Man” Duck
Meanwhile, the Democrats love those illegal aliens for being a vast source of new voters that they can buy with our money. It’s a win/win!
Well, we could always assert our Beck rights. That would reveal that “the union doesn’t spend any money on politics” and give some much needed business to tire repair and auto body shops.
What I don’t get about card check is, how to you sell it to the end user? Why should you or I, potential union members, not want a secret ballot? I understand why the union and the Democrats want card check as a political ploy, it lets them intimidate people into joining a union. But to sell the idea to the disinterested public, how does losing the right to a secret ballot look like a net gain to anyone?
I would prefer a secret ballot to vote for anything: president, union, dog catcher. What do you have to lose by keeping it secret?
“What do you have to lose by keeping it secret?”
Is this a trick question?
Anyhoo, the Employee Free Choice Act, as explained to the terminally stupid/obtuse, is simply the Destroy WalMart Act. Or the corollary, Unionize Foreign-Owned US Based Auto Workers Act. I mean really, who’s left?
