S-A-T-U-R-D-A-Y…Night!

Goin’ on my fourth Sapphire martini, y’all (the olives are habenero pepper-stuffed — de-lish!), and Steely Dan’s on the jukebox, doin’ “My Old School.” Next up? Alison Krauss, maybe. Or some old Styx.

Anybody remember the song “Boat on the River” from the Cornerstone album? Tommy Shaw on lead vocals… Ah, yessssssss.

G’night, folks…

[update: …ooh, Gerry Rafferty…]

I thought I was the only Styx fan left. Still waxing nostalgic over Lorelei….

You’re alright in my book, then, PatioPundit.

The CD carousel’s spun onward to Supertramp now, and I’ve moved on to Tanqueray. Next, I think I’ll put on some Little River Band.

The nostalgia will be complete once I find myself singing Zeppelin’s “Thank You” out loud to the dogs (my wife’s in Germany for a few more days)…

  3. Myria says:

Everytime I see the senior senator from my godforsaken state on TV I think of Styx’s “Eddie”.

    Myria

  4. Scott says:

And every time I hear Tanqueray, I think of Beavis and Butthead at the trailer park.

  5. Who are all these weird people you are talking about? Styx, Tanqueray, and all those names sound like things my parents talk about…oh sorry was that insulting? smile I’m just kidding…

  6. Anybody slurping down Saphire while worshiping at the altar of the Dan is OK in my book.

And much as I love My Old School, nothing goes better with a martini than Black Cow.

But I’ll be doing Scotch and Deacon Blues tonight.

  7. Jeff G. says:

Yes. Scotch goes best with “Deacon Blues.” For “Kid Charlemaigne”? Lots of bong hits…

  8. For Kid C—one of my all-time faves—I’d have to go with something a little more… pharmaceutical.
