Trojan Horse change you can believe in!

From RWS:

Obama’s hope and change website never addressed gay rights. In fact it never mentioned the words ‘gay’ or ‘lesbian’. Until after the election that is.

I admit to not spending much time over there, so I can’t independently corroborate this claim.

But given that the staff from the Office of the President-Elect has shown no previous wariness about simply airbrushing away bits and pieces of Obama’s policy pronouncements — in a postmodern, post-partisan, and post-racial word, you see, the transience of a series of 1s and 0s is but a metaphor for the new governing paradigm of earnest “pragmatism” — I have no reason to doubt that the campaign advanced certain policies they thought might get them elected (but had no intention ever of implementing), while simultaneously holding back on policies that they worried might hurt them with part of their nearly unanimous ethnic base (with every intention of changing course once that base was cast its votes; after all, the mere sight of Black President is enough to keep this particularly identity group satisfied, the thinking goes).

Principles? Bourgeois moralism, is all that is. Action for the sake of change is what gets the progressives enthused. Much like their predecessors — whose ideology is detailed at length both in the archives here and in Jonah Goldberg’s Liberal Fascism.

Notice he goes to great lengths to only oppose a Constitutional Amendment, as he has specifically stated in the past that he is most certainly not supportive of same-sex marriage, and used his religion as the basis for same.

    Because of Teh Theocracy !!!!!!!!!!!

Too often, the issue of LGBT rights is exploited by those seeking to divide us.

    Indeed.

    B-But the transparency!

It’s the same old situational ethics…When the situation was O! needing to get elected; mum’s the word…

Now? Well, you know…O!s positions are kinda like the weather; always changing to fit the season…

I mean, if his policy stances are evolving already on Gitmo, lobbyists involvement in government, and certain military issues, then why not on gay rights too…

It’s change we can believe in

Ive written about this before but: My sister in law is gay and about a month before the election I had a long conversation with her partner about Obama. She expressed a complete dissatisfaction with his positions on gay rights and felt he hadn’t even paid the barest lip service to gays in general (no ugly comments you dirty minded ‘thugs!) I talked with her about the traditional enmity that blacks had towards gay rights and she understood that and was concerned about it.

I wonder how she feels now that 96% of blacks in California voted for Obama but 70% voted for Prop 8?

  7. Sdferr says:

Maybe she feels like it’s time to start trying to change their minds about gays BJTexs? Or maybe it’s time to jam a little top down morality into their heads?

The irony, Sdferr, is that I believe all of the “civil disturbances” in churches have been at predominately white ones. I wonder how long it will take the radical gay protesters to take on a church like Trinity?

It boggles the mind! I’m going with “when hell freezes over and unionized pigs fly!”

  10. Sdferr says:

    Heh.

Maybe they are the post-racial moment and post-racial question they’ve been waiting for.

  11. BJTexs says:

Worse for the radicalized wing of the gay rights movement; they’ve woken up to discover that a guy who really doesn’t care a whit about their constituency just won a national election during which their influence was invisible and irrelevant.

Cue tearing of hair and rending of mesh vests…

“Expand Adoption Rights: Barack Obama believes that we must ensure adoption rights for all couples and individuals, regardless of their sexual orientation. He thinks that a child will benefit from a healthy and loving home, whether the parents are gay or not.”

Somewhat at odds with Florida, as well as Clinton’s home state of Arkansas. I’m suprised Jeff hasn’t remarked on this yet.

“End Racial Profiling: Obama and Biden will ban racial profiling by federal law enforcement agencies and provide federal incentives to state and local police departments to prohibit the practice.”

Are quotas next? Will minority arrests be halted, until the feds arrest enough white folks? Are “cracker offsets” in the offing?

Meh… I think that is a dead parrot.

  16. JBean says:

Obama had a problem with teh ghey early on, in the person of Donnie McClurkin in Obama’s “Gospel Tour.”

So the the campaign found a “third way,” officially adding gay minister Andy Sidden to the tour.

And then, to keep it all cool, but on the back burner, he sent Michelle out to seal the deal.

He really, really, doesn’t like to talk about teh ghey much himself, though.

  17. Sdferr says:

Wait, are you suggesting President Barack “Not from Central Casting” Obama is a closeted homophobe JBean? Golly, who’da thunk it?

No wonder the right wing candidate lost if shit like this is a surprise to the right.

But that website does have content from ” Barack Obama, June 1, 2007.” Trojan horse. ha.

    Jeff,

Lately, I’ve begun to distill the Progressive’s agenda down to one thing: eugenics.

Here’s why. The Prog’s detest Bush’s ban on Federal funding for embryonic stem cell research, as well as his staunch stance against liberal abortion rights.

Hold these facts in your mind and then squint your eyes while you survey the bulk of Progressive initiatives as both their politicians and their media frame them, and you will see the cryptic outlines of Europe’s 30’s-era eugenics movement – hellbent on practicing animal husbandry on humans, slithering into American government,

Which is why the Prog’s hate Bush so much: he deliberately erected trip-wires around the Eugenics herd. Now, whether they like it or not, when they push against the wires Bush has strung, a series of alarms are rigged to go-off in America’s ethicists’* heads.

This explains, too, the Prog’s media’s creative use of proxy-complaints within the confines of Bush’s trip-wires. The Prog’s are too smart to deliberately lean on the wires. And so, our modern Eugenics Movement relies on their media to get them under Bush’s wires.

    Cheers!

    * That is, if there are any ethicists in America’s halls of government anymore.

Nah. That’s part of it, but that’s not the One Thing that animates them.

The dream of a Perfect World is what animates them. Eugenics is just part of the effort.
