Que Pelosidad! [Dan Collins]

From Gateway Pundit:

New information reveals that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi was indirectly sending messages to the FARC. The Marxist Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC) is designated as a terrorist group by the US government. Speaker Pelosi was doing this while at the same time she refused to bring a free trade agreement with Colombia up for a vote in the US House. In fact, Pelosi took extraordinary steps to block this trade agreement with America’s closest ally in South America.

Viva la Nancita!

More, h/t TopsecretK9:

In a thoughtful article in today’s Wall Street Journal Mary Anastasia O’Grady looks at some other people and organizations who had tried to put similar pressure on President Uribe and who had done their very best to undermine his government in its fight against the terrorists.

She starts with a very interesting question: how is it that the army fooled the FARC brigade so easily when pretending to be from a “humanitarian NGO”?

It may have taken years for army intelligence to infiltrate the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia, and it may have been tough to convincingly impersonate rebels. But what seems to have been a walk in the park was getting the FARC to believe that an NGO was providing resources to help it in the dirty work of ferrying captives to a new location.
Well, yes, why was this seemingly improbable story believed? (Mind you, some of us recall the story of the Italian Red Cross using their ambulances to transport wanted terrorists in Iraq, which just proves that when NGOs do turn up in that country they cause appalling damage.)

Probably not an impeachable offense, though. And censure? Why, she’s a lady. How DARE you!

  2. Rob Crawford says:

Sorry, but how isn’t this treason?

Seriously, if political maneuvering against the legitimate government of an ally in favor of an armed group that’s holding Americans hostage doesn’t count as “aid and comfort”, then WTF does count?

  3. Techie says:

    Honest-to-God Sedation.

If true, Nail her to the wall.

  4. happyfeet says:

What a traitorous cooze. Baracky should take note that she’s not going to just stop being a traitorous cooze if he’s president. No. He would somehow have to learn to stand up to her and put her in her place. This would take courage on his part, cause it’s inherently confrontational. So Baracky better get used to just running his foreign policy past Nancy I guess.

  5. Dan Collins says:

    Alien and Sedation Act?

  6. Rob Crawford says:

You’re assuming, ‘feet, that Baracky disagrees with Nancy’s shilling for terrorists.

  7. happyfeet says:

Oh. Good point, Rob. My bad.

  8. TmjUtah says:

Wait just a minute. Just because she acted to undermine U.S. foreign policy with the intent of aiding a quasi-communist/narco insurgency movement is no reason to question her…

    … patriotism?

Hmmmm. She’ll play the Democrat card, though: “Feature, not bug. WTF are you looking at, bible clutcher?”.

  9. McGehee says:

For the record, I think the word “enemy” in the treason provision of the Constitution, has a slightly narrower meaning than would apply here.

Although, if we acted like a real empire we would certainly have eliminated any ambiguity about FARC’s status as soon as the hostage-taking began.

  10. McGehee says:

If we were a real empire, the period of time that anyone would be regarded as an “enemy” of the United States, would be about 30 to 45 minutes.

  11. Rob Crawford says:

If the Barbary pirates were the enemies of America, then FARC are, too.

But, yeah, the odds that anything will happen are slim. Hell, she’ll probably pull in more votes in her next re-election bid.

  12. ProggHero says:

Well why do I not hear this screamed from the rooftops on faux news? This must not be true then.

So, either Pelosi’s a true believer or she’s on the take.

Wait, did someone say Congresswoman Pelosi?

    Follow the money!

  23. geoffb says:

Since she is doing this, can we assume she did similar things in her trip to Syria to meet with Assad??????

Helping out on the ? overstock.

Oh, God. You just reminded me of the overstock.com woman.

  25. Jeff G. says:

Hell, she’ll probably pull in more votes in her next re-election bid.

Terrorist chic. Unlike paisley, it never goes out of style on the left coast.

  28. Karl says:

    That would be Sabine Ehrenfeld.

  29. Rob Crawford says:

OK, new rule — make sure “safe surf” is turned on before clicking through to a Google image search.

Oh, and Karl? As convenient as tinyurl is, it obscures the target of the link, and makes it dangerous for just that reason.

  30. SarahW says:

    Who’s paying her?
And who put her eyebrows on like that?

  31. SarahW says:

    Pelosi, that is. The crook.

  32. Karl says:

    Rob,

Sorry ’bout that. I use tinyurl primarily because pw’s wp setup does not like urls with ?’s in ’em. I can get around that on threads for my posts, but not Dan’s.

  33. Techie says:

Note the lack of Proggie or Cleo in these two threads. Care to defend your party’s Speaker?

  34. TmjUtah says:

Second Ehrenfeld link appears to show her immediately after stopping a hot grounder to short. With her forehead. At a newd softball game.

  35. Trimegistus says:

    Treason. Gitmo. WATERBOARD HER!

Maybe she’ll reveal the names of some co-conspirators.

  36. Scrapiron says:

If every democrat in congress who has commited treason through illegal association with terrorists, providing aid and comfort to the enemy, and leaking national security information to the NYSlimes were arrested there would be 0 democrats in congress. Democrats have all became traitors because of BDS aquired when they lost (and they did lose) the election in 2000. Nothing, not even several years in a rubber room, will help them.

  37. Mikey NTH says:

Treason is specifically limited by definition in the US Constitution.
There are other things such as sedition that are statutorily defined, though. How far can you disagree with the policy of the government of your country, as a citizen and member of that government before you cross into sedition?

Advocating for a change of policy is permitted and necessary; providing physical aid is not permitted. How far over the line does this fall for each of the named members of Congress? Be interesting to find out.

  38. ushie says:

Well, if she is going for equality in the Benedict Arnold sweepstakes, I’d say she’s a winnah!

  39. narciso says:

palomino! as they say this behavior “is not a bug it’s a feature” for 44 years, the FARC then the ELN and the
M-19 have been waging war on Colombia; one of the rewards were the price supports for American cotton, that led ‘bolivian marching powder’ to be the major export; this was due in large part to the efforts of Luther Hodges, Kennedy’s former Commerce Secretary from North Carolina. The first tentative steps toward counter insurgency began in that era; it took another decade, and a guerilla offensive. encouraged by one of those pacifist Colombian presidents; created the rise of the urban paramilitaries

  40. Karl says:

    Scrapiron,

It can’t all be BDS, as a number of my examples go back to the 1980s.

  41. Mikey NTH says:

After 44 years you would think it is time for the revolution to either fish or cut bait. Because the original revolutionaries (if any are left) are getting a little long in the tooth.

  42. ahem says:

    FARC Nancy Pelosi.

  43. Mikey NTH says:

    “If any are left!”

Ha! Get it? If any are…
    Okay, I’ll be good…

  44. narciso says:

Well Marulanda, the last of the original crew, went the way of the “Norwegian blue, pining for the fjords,” most
of the midlevel officials are either dead or captured. The new head of the FARC; Alfonso Cano, is a former university student; perpetual grad student. The other other hardliner, Mono Jojoy, is an elusive character. They’re are the very much the real life version of the
    crew in “Proof of Life”.
