Tom Maguire Interrupts Orgy [Dan Collins]

of self-congratulation, demonstrating some of the defects in a study designed to show that liberals are more open minded regarding their information sources on the internet.

Besides, an objective study concludes that conservatives are better people than liberals.

Patterico on blogger who walked in on Justice Kennedy with his (Kennedy’s) pants down.

Obama (light)weighed in:

The decision resonated in the presidential campaign, too, where Democrat Barack Obama objected to it. Obama said there should be no blanket prohibition of the death penalty for the rape of children if states want to apply it in those cases.

Add a pinch of nuance:

I began to dislike Obama when I discovered that while in the Illinois state legislature in 2002, he voted against the Induced Birth Infant Liability Act. The bill was designed to extend the same medical care to babies who happen to survive an abortion attempt as is enjoyed by all babies born alive.

I couldn’t believe anyone would vote against such a bill. In fact, when a similar measure– the Born Alive Infant Protection Act– was brought before the U.S. Senate, not one Senator voted against it. Even NARAL Pro-Choice America didn’t oppose the bill.

Admittedly, I’m a bit of a curmudgeon. It’s difficult for me to like someone who’s eager to extend a panoply of constitutional rights to terrorists but who refuses to provide the most fundamental rights to a living, breathing infant.

Perhaps it’s a failure to comprehend Obama’s exquisite intellectual nuance. He rationalized his vote in language that evokes Dred Scott. Obama challenged the constitutionality of the bill, contending that conferring equal protection, i.e.,personhood, upon a “pre-viable fetus” would render the bill an unlawful anti-abortion statute.

And, voila! Heartache!

    From the article:

“Jon Chait of TNR interpreted this as an opportunity to have a bit of fun:

I’m going to go ahead and interpet it: Liberals are more interested in listening to opposing points of view than are conservatives.”

Except for that ol’ “censor, delete, block commentors and remove icky conservative comments” thing found across the reactionary leftosphere.

My personal experience: registered at DU, left one rather innocuous comment.

Result, in about 5 minutes: comment deleted, account blocked and attacked by the censor in the comments.

That’s a brave stance Baracky is taking on the child-rape. I’ve long believed that the entire practice is wrong. It’s heartening that someone is finally giving voice to my views.

So, O! is a Federalist when it comes to state’s rights in regard to punishing child rapists, but he’s for Federal laws that extends equal rights and benefits to same-sex couples?

Happy – imagine all the child rapist’s Baracky has pissed off with his brave stance! He’s gonna lost that vote for sure. Of course, in Florida, he’s courting felons but I’m sure child rapists are only one contingent. He’ll still get the armed robbers, murderers, and adult rapists.

Bill Bennet recently had a nurse on who butted heads with Obama in the Illinois Senate on this issue. Lots of background on this and on a hospital associated with Rev. Wright’s church and induced labor abortions. Chilling.

Maybe it depends on the subject. You like the Chardonnay more than the Chianti, they’re curious, possibly even respectful. You mention considering a third child–woo doggie! Watch out!

Am I the only one who considers linking to Sullivan akin to setting a bag of dog poo afire on my porch? Stop it Dan, no good can come of this. It just smells the place up and pisses people off.

I don’t really see it mentioned, but in my limited experience of blog-reading, respectful dissenting liberal views are tolerated by right-wing blogs to a much higher degree than the opposite. I never comment on left blogs, because … it’s pointless.

While wack-a-mole occurs here when an asshat makes a drive-by (Caric, for instance) – case in point is Lisa. She knows we TEASE (occasionally), but she’s been given a pretty friendly welcome.

And, if Caric ever offered anything remotely resembling dialogue, he too could find conversation here.

Wisdom dumps from Carnac Caric the Great aren’t welcome? Now I’m going to have to live my own life without the guidance of a college professor. Isn’t that taking the DIY movement to extremes? He’s a professional elite, and I’m not.

In thirty years it will be decriminalized completely. Psychologists unmoored by fascist Christianism will find that pedophilia is actually great for all participants, once they are liberated from silly spiritual considerations and properly educated.
