Incidentally, I am offline at the moment, but may be having lunch with Jeff G today. So to help you get your weekend started, I note that you can access hours of streaming music — the good, the bad and the ugly — via the page I have set up for my other web gig, via the fantastic Hype Machine. You can access tracks individually, or let them play through as a jukebox.  New additions for this Friday include Carl Douglas, Sly & the Family Stone, John Lennon, Glen Campbell, the Yardbirds, Cheap Trick, the Posies, Thin Lizzy and more.
Name-dropper.
Holy Shit, Karl! I was trying to remember the words to “Let it all Hangout” about a month ago. I thought the name of the band was “Tres Hombres.” Hahahaha! I was a little too young to appreciate what was going on, but it brings back memories of my cousin coming home really spent wearing a Nehru jacket. My aunt would ask me if I thought my cousin smelled funny. “Hotdog my razor broke…” Hahahaha! Too funny!
The Posies?!?
Good Lord. I thought I was the only person in Colorado that owned a copy of Dear 23 and Frosting On The Beater.
What’s next? The Rainmakers?
Let My People Go Go, David.

“Let It All Hang Out” also makes an appearance in the movie Elizabethtown because director Cameron Crowe -formerly of Rolling Stone — knows his stuff.
As to the Posies and hf’s explication — I do own The Posies’ albums (and a Rainmakers LP, fwiw), but I did not actually put these tracks online. They are posted at music blogs and are aggregated and rendered streamable by the Hype Machine. And in the course of my regular web gig, I run across all sorts of tracks for which I have no immediate blog use, but which are cool or funny or whatever enough to go into the Cutout Bin every Friday. I add about 20-25 tracks for most every Friday, and remain in the ever-expanding playlist until the original music blogger removes them and they fade from the Hype Machine.
I’ll have a lunch report shortly.
I may be too late … but :

Was there arugula?
Speaking of Carl Douglas, ever hear the rap version of “Kung Fu Fighting” by Bus Stop – at least that’s who my file-sharing “service” reported – with Carl in the background? It’s kind of tongue in cheek, but really jazzed up. It’s pretty hawt, esp. if you like the original.
