Granted, it happened in 1957, but it is another example of how John McCain’s experience towers over that of his Democratic rivals, demonstrating an ability to develop close bilateral relationships abroad. We never hear about Barack Obama or Hillary Clinton having this type of experience south of the border, though the American electorate hungers for such stories. Where is the crack investigative staff of the New York Times when we need it?

Rachel Maddow, who is a rather attractive young man, has been trying to push on MSNBC that John McCain’s “red corvette” history is about to come out and really, really hurt him. I think she gets this knowledge from her diverse and insightful radio guests like Jane Hamsher and the Gleens.
The “Red Corvette” story will not hurt Senator McCain one bit. The media is so in love with him they will declare what a great guy he is because of it.
If the story were about someone else, particularly a Democratic candidate, who had a similar story from their youth, THEN it would be a media scandal.

Some “crack investigative staff” looking for McCain’s “experience south of the border”? Sheesh. Don’t you have something better to talk about? Of course, given the way things are going for the right wing just now, perhaps not. But really, you should lift your soul from the gutter, or at least open a book store specializing in political sex scandals or something. The Vitter section alone should keep you in rubber shorts for years. Give you and your friends something to do at night besides talk about how hot you all were in high school.

Like Bush, McCain is getting a free ride from the ‘liberal’ media. At the recent AP dinner in DC, the press brought donuts for McCain, and when Obama addressed the crowd, the first reporter’s question started with “Senator Osama…”
